What they did to those protesters is a direct infringement of the First Amendment, which protects the right to (peacefully) protest. The protesters have a right to be there. They have a right to protest. They weren’t violent. They’re innocent.

Researching the treatment of disabled kids in juvenile detention centres. 89% of kids in Western Australia juvenile detention have a mental or intellectual disability. 80% of detained kids are indigenous. Disabled behaviours are criminalised, especially when performed by indigenous people. How is this justice?
I wanna bring the spotlight to mixed kids who were raised as “white”. Not learning about their heritage or ethnicities, not connecting to their cultures, not being taught how to care for their hair, not being taught their languages, and therefore not learning how to navigate the world as poc.
There’s obviously a conversation to be had about colourism and how a lot of mixed people will be intentionally or unintentionally racist/colourist, but we should also talk about people who literally weren’t taught how to navigate the world as poc.
My partner thought they were white. They are not. They are visibly poc. They are so visibly poc I had NO idea they thought they were white or white passing.
It’s just now that they’re really understanding they’re poc. They are seen as poc in the world. They’ve had an entire part of their identity they’ve been ignoring for decades.
The white side of their family would fetishize them and they have little to no connection with their poc side. They were treated and raised as just “white but weird”. And because they have no connection to their poc side they just thought that was “normal”.
We need to talk about this, because it’s also applicable to trans racial people (people adopted by someone of a different race) who just weren’t taught about their heritage or how to navigate the world as poc. There are so many poc going around the world genuinely not realizing they are poc or what they means for them.
Before anyone asks, the reason we used the term poc and weren’t more specific is for two reasons. One is privacy, and the other is they have so much internalized racism they don’t want to “claim an identity not for (them)”. They are afraid of claiming their identity because they don’t wanna make others uncomfortable because they feel “too white”. This conversation is long overdue.
This is why (white people specifically) HAVE to make the effort to learn about their partner's culture and about racism before they have mixed kids. An example of this is black hair. Im a black person, and i find it so infuriating to see little mixed kids walking around with short, cut, dry hair because their white parent have no idea how to take care of their hair. You can spot it a mile away, and its so sad these kids dont get to have their hair healthy and long. Sometimes i see them staring at other black people (i.e my mom) and it is really sad. Theyre not white. They'll never be white and you can't ignore the part of them that isnt because if you do you are robbing these kids of their identity and connecting with their culture.
If youre going to have mixed kids, make the effort. Stop fetishizing having mixed babies. Theyre people.
About the whole "white" thing. Caucasian Americans should learn about their own heritage and culture. Detach themselves from the impossible, made up standard of whiteness. 23 and Me exist, people. Capitalism wants Caucasians to forget their roots so it can be the only "culture" they have.
On the topic of transracial kids, did anyone else find out that Snooki from Jersey Shore was transracial?? She's actually latina but was raised as Italian by her Italian adoptive family, because they specifically adopted her knowing they could pass her off as their ethnicity, lying to her about her family and her history. She didn't even know she was adopted, or that she wasn't white, until well into her 20s!

I don’t personally feel hardly anything at all about the terrible things in the world, but I do have cognitive empathy, meaning I know I would feel terrible if I was in such situations. So I learn, and I boycott, and I lobby, and I donate, just like the rest of us. And guys if u feel like me, just remember, people with low empathy are valuable in this fight as we can focus more heavily on action without needing time to care for ourselves in regards to emotional repercussions because of the experiences of people away from us.

Not all dissociative disorders are systemhood. ALOT of conditions (like depression and adhd) include forgetting things/dissociation as an extremely common symptom. You can have a dissociative disorder and still be a singlet.
Hell, even nt people dissociate. “Highway hypnosis” is a thing for a reason.
I say this because I’ve seen people forget they put a song on a playlist or forget they ate their last ramen and all of a sudden (without any real research) go “oh im a system!” And completely ignore any other condition that might cause forgetfulness or dissociation.
Self diagnosis isn’t assuming you have a condition after one post online. It’s months and years of research.

it's probably the whole "I was just doing my job thing." It's been proven that if someone is told by an authority figure to do increasingly harmful things, more than half will go along with it. Yeah! Food gives you fuel, and because of alexithymia as a results of being a high masking autistic and adhd person for a lot of my life, I can’t tell when I’m hungry until I’m starving. Obviously, food is a complex task, that takes a lot of steps. And when a lot of nd people notice they need food, their body doesn’t have the energy to do those steps, which often means reaching for ready made snacks that give short amounts of energy (carbs, sugar) which don’t work because your body burns through it quickly.
Sorry I’m infodumping, I really find disabled brains interesting, but yes this is just a result of brain chemistry. It’s not just a nd thing- any person who does not have enough energy will stop allotting energy to non essential tasks. It’s just nd people don’t notice until it gets to the no energy point a lot of the time, no in between of ‘oh I’m a little hungry, maybe I should eat’.
I’d also look into spoon theory- it’s another way to look at it. Regulating activities restore spoons, and energy from fuel gives you spoons. No spoons left = no energy, but no spoons for cooking.
Not like that but sometimes while eating I'm still hungry but alqo kinda full? And then I don't want to eat anymore.

I really don't understand how people can be okay when knowing stuff about the world. Like, it's one thing to do things at your best to keep yourself stable so you can function--but to just actually be okay with how the world is??? Like...are you closing your eyes and ears??
Edit: I mean closing eyes and ears like how a child does when they do not wanna listen. Obviously there are plenty of people who are blind and/or deaf who care a great deal about these issues and that does not inherently prevent them from caring.

ive only been using it for a week but i really cant recommend blocktube enough, so basically there are 5 main settings, video title (put a word in and itll block all videos with that word from appearing), video ID (blocks one video from appearing), channel name (put a word in and itll block any channel and their videos with that word in from appearing), channel ID (blocks one channel and its videos from appearing), and comment content (put a word in and itll block comments with that word from appearing)
im finding it useful for avoiding my trigger, blocking bad people or blocking channels with a lot of bad people in its community, and blocking more mature content that im not comfortable seeing

He has switched his political party twice in the last year because he doesn't want to be on the ballot in swing states so he doesn't cost Biden the election.

This is my 3rd comment on this video but I would like to ask for some tips and ideas on how to protest without actually organising a rally. As much as I want to organise a protest, it's illegal here. So far I'm thinking of stickers and flyers as well as a social media page but the I'm afraid the last one would be able to be traced back to me. I know it's a little cowardly but having a single thing on my criminal record would bar me from getting hired anywhere.
You could use stickers and flyers! For flyers, I heavily suggest putting website links for aiding Palestine and protesters. As for stickers, it's best to write a short slogan demanding peace and putting it on the sticker. I can't say much for the social media page, as it's difficult to keep anonymity on the internet. But if you plan to make one regardless, use a VPN and a different email when making the account. It'll be a lot more difficult for pigs and weirdos to track you that way.
