People having to fake something like Tourette's for clout is just really sad, you can't help but feel bad for the people who actually have it and were affected by this type of behavior.
Yeah, i get alot of apologies because of it??? What are y'all apologizing for.. i dont understand?? The social stress im now under because of the faker's i assume
"I am done advocating for tourettes" YES because faking a disorder and making it so that people who actually have it aren't believed when they say they have tourettes was SO HELPFUL!
As someone who actually has tourette's syndrome, motor ticks, this enrages me. My condition being under represented and not well understood isn't helped by someone faking the condition for fame
i dont have tourettes, but i do have anxiety tics, and people accuse me of trying to have tourettes, which I seriously don't want. i also don't want these anxiety tics either, and I hope they go away soon. ticsandroses is a scumbag who deserved to be bullied off the internet.
As someone who is dating someone with Tourette’s, this is honestly just disgusting. For someone to treat it as a “quirk” makes me feel sick, I don’t want to imagine what my partner would feel about this. Tourette’s is NOT a quirk.
As somebody with more than noticeable Tourette’s, there are so many red flags. Tics are subconscious, so you do them without noticing. She only tics when she is not speaking, tics put a giant strain on your mind and body so she would not be smiling even if she tried if she had tics that severe, and the largest red flag besides how forced the movements were and how you are born with Tourette’s and not diagnosed at age 7 is that she has a different tic in every video, never repeating one. The truth is that the overwhelming majority of people with Tourette’s stick with one tic or multiple tics is severe, for an extended period of time. For example, I had a tic where I nodded my head every few seconds, which later turned into violently shaking my head practically nonstop. It was torture for me because of how many questions and stares I got, not to mention the migraines I would get from it. This went on for a few months until I developed a new tic and dropped that one. Luckily, my Tourette’s have calmed down quite a bit, and I am medicated to help it stay that way. Conclusion: If you’re going to try to lie to someone, do your research first to make it believable.
My older brother has tourettes and also used to shake his head when we were kids. He's also had tics where he would blink really hard, sniffle, or move his hand in a way to make it crack repeatedly. And those are just the ones I've noticed
Yes, tourettes is something that you are born with, it could be hidden until you're older. My brother has tourettes and didn't start to show symptoms until his depression started at around age 7.
@@crowcollectives No one can tell you whether you need to go to the doctor online, since we don't know you, but tics can have other causes than tourettes, most being nothing to worry about, for example I have something like tics with my amxiety
i don't have tourette's myself, but one thing that was a giant red flag to me had to do with how tics are subconscious as well. a lot of the time, you can tell she makes a small pause in talking before/after an audible "tic", and she makes faces/expressions during physical ones. real tics i've seen don't happen like this, i knew this one fairly energetic guy who had a harsh blink type tic and he would keep talking on tangents completely uninterrupted and his demeanor never changed or paused. from what i know, auditory tics are very similar, in that it just interrupts speech that immediately resumes right after. you can 100% tell that emerald pauses with a lot of tics, which means she has to *consciously think to do it.*
"I was literally bullied off the internet". Yes, that’s the result of faking a disorder. It’s something you caused and you have to wholeheartedly accept the effects and consequences. I hope she comes out as a better person and live her life (without stretching anything, specifically lying).
I do too, but only for cases where the subject is clearly an asshole, like this girl. I guess it’s subjective but the line between the internet fishing out frauds and unnecessary canceling is too blurred.
Now if they’d just come together and finally go after the people faking DID (and combining other disorders to be “unique”) with “alters” they claim to have that conveniently end up being their celebrity crush or some weird anime character they like. The most cringey shit I’ve ever seen on TikTok, which says a lot. That whole community is nothing but a bunch of people faking shit for clout thinking it’s “cute” since they get attention from it, insisting they’re all raising awareness for the disorder while claiming to totally have it … not understanding that it’s not something that’s as common as they make it out to be. It’s done nothing but hurt those who have been professionally diagnosed and dealt with DID since experiencing serious trauma (normally during their childhood). It’s incredibly fucked up. /r/fakedisordercringe compiles a lot of it.
Bro I stg this is crazy, like if she was actually donating all of the money that she made, WHY DIDNT SHE SAY SO?!? Like she could have also advocated for Huntingtons.
As someone with Tourette's, I'm quite offended by all those people faking tourette's or just any kind of mental disorder. It's just wrong to fake having issues for clout and I hope people come to realize that. Good video man.
I can understand how you feel, but (as a person without Tourette's) I find it difficult to criticize others for faking something, because we can never be 100% sure, and I would rather give support to someone who doesn't need it and is faking it than not give support to someone who I believe to not have it. Again, I can understand how you feel, and I am not trying to overpower you words with my inexperienced ones.
I have to agree with you I used to be friends with a couple people when I was younger that had tourettes, and seeing how forced this was was very offensive.
Agreed. I have Tic's myself, and when I meet people and become friends with them, I usually tell them privately because that's where I'm most comfortable. 9 times out of 10 I'll get a skeptical raised eyebrow and an eyeroll.
as someone with tourette’s i find this disgusting. it’s not “quirky” or something “cool” to have, it fucking sucks having people stare at you for something you can’t control
@MysticalKO i’m not sure who you’re replying to but typically people with tourettes have both. i have a couple vocal ones but i do my motor tics more often
Right! Like I don't have tourettes, but I have family members who do. And every person I've seen with it gets frustrated when they're trying to talk or do something and they have tics. This weirdo is smiling and laughing like having tourettes is whimsical and fun.
Don't you all remember the ALS Ice bucket challenge? All my friends now have motor neuron disease after doing it...so sad. /s Seriously though, let the people who are best at representing their condition show their best character. You don't get to elect yourself ambassador of a situation that you're not involved in.
Allow me to say it louder for the people in the back: *having any type of disorder is NOT a cool, edgy, funny, or aesthetic personality trait or a cute quirk*
YES And with a lot of these disorders and illnesses it can be painful for people who have them. So, in a way, faking a disorder/illness really looks like they're saying "yeah pain is cute n quirky!" If someone can confidently lie about a diagnosis and say "pain is cute and a personality trait" I think they need to see a real doctor instead of the fake one who "diagnosed" them This shit makes me v angy 🙃
Thank you, it’s debilitating. I don’t have Tourette’s I but I do have misophonia and a lot of people think I do it to be “cool” for “attention”. Couldn’t be far from the truth. It’s people like her that make it difficult for people with real disorders.
I've been diagnosed with depression and have to take Anti-depressant to properly function somewhat happily, Fucking hate people faking mental illnesses.
👏🏻👏🏻 As someone who's diagnosed with few mental illness it's frustrating to see that people take it that way. Because of those problems I will never be able to do the job that I'd like to do, I can't go partying because the medication that i take make me nauseas when I smell/drink alcohol. It's not fun, it will never be fun.
“Living in shame of being different”. That line from her apology seriously pisses me off. She lied and got called out for it, nobody is on her ass for “being different”
What conditions? Internet has bred conditioned idiocy in the last decade. The best cure for all these freaks would be shovel and to sweat beneath the sun from dawn till dusk until they are all cured. Hard work and sun cures all this very quickly. Their parents and rich countries they are lucky to reside in spoiled them way too much. Non existent father figures during their growing, almost certanly no good use of belt which is the best tool to raise children since it's inception has raised these weak useless individuals who would get eaten alive in the real world.
For me, I feel like the biggest sign she was faking it was her laughing at her tics. People who live everyday with it learn to live with it and try their best to keep going about their day not trying to bring too much attention to it. But when you see her laughing at her own tics like it’s a funny joke, you can tell from right there she hasn’t lived with it.
@@__-ic4di She is faking her pronouns for clout too. Trans identities shouldn’t be treated like costumes just like Tourette’s is not a joke. Use her real pronouns, she/her.
@@__-ic4di Please grow a pair. We literally have a pandemic going on, people dehumanising us byfaking disorders, and a war going on in Ukraine. Caring about someone's pronouns they put in their Twitter bio is the least of anyone's concerns.
As someone who has this disorder, I despise when people like this fake what we actually have. It's insulting and embarrassing. It's one of the worst things you can fake and lie about having.
As someone who has been diagnosed with Tourette’s from a very young age watching these TikTok’s is so infuriating. You can just tell how forced it is. Faking a disorder/mental illness of any kind is just a scummy thing to do.
This is pretty terrible in my opinion. As someone who genuinely has Tourette's and has dealt with the symptoms for 30+ years, I'm so disappointed that some people see it as some kind of ticket to success. It really takes away from the people out there who battle with mental health issues every single day, and don't get the luxury of turning it off once the video feed ends. I'm glad this person was held accountable for their choices, and maybe they'll learn a little something about what preaching compassion and tolerance really means.
My sister is doing similar stuff as this girl. Literally claims she has a gambit of issues ailing her, hears someone else has a disorder and finds a way to put herself in that diagnosis…. She’s become difficult to take seriously as she constantly claims to be dealing with this issue and that issue when she has no formal diagnosis from a doctor at all…. It’s a symptom of the generation she’s grown up in, the more disabled you are the more proud you can be of yourself for dealing with said disability…. It’s pretty sad really, they use these “disorders“ for attention and the words of inspiration from others who know nothing of the fake behind it
I find this trend very annoying. When people say they are "neuro diverse," I ask, "oh yeah, what's your diagnosis?" As someone who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome over a decade ago, I'll be glad when this trend passes.
I hate how much people are so desperate for clout that they'll go overboard and fake serious and real disorders that cause people who actually suffer to feel like their voices are unheard,
I’m a psychiatric nurse and I’m absolutely positive, that is not a professional note. The terminology is not professional by any means. We don’t call patients “lady” we refer to them as patient/client/sex/pronouns. For example… “patient is a 27yr old female” “she is left handed, and presents with yadayadayada..”
There's a ton of variation in the notes between providers, especially if English isn't their first language. I do agree that "patient is a 27yr old female" is the typical start of a note, but the HPI wording here doesn't definitively tell us anything.
Its crazy how instead of checking everything over and making sure she wrote everything correctly, she decided to give herself a little ego-boost by going with the "She is an amazing, left-handed young lady" route
Yeah, my psychiatrist tends to scribble stuff and give to me. I kinda need to take it to professionals to decipher it then take it to whoever i need to. The things written don’t include a full description of who I am, just what the doctors orders are in medical terms. It looks like this: మమమసనతనదపజపయనసనజవజనతమతుససబడనడనృనృుృిస్స్సైసైసాసీతీజైడనక
As a man who grew up with severe facial tics, I could tell she was faking it from the very beginning, but could hardly say anything because a good chunk of my friends not only knew of her, but _believed her_ as well. Super frustrating to watch. Glad she's finally been brought to justice.
What was the dead give away for you if I may ask ? I don’t have the condition but from what Iv seen these fakers always enter there physical tics too softly as if on a subconscious level there trying to prevent pulling a muscle or injuring themselves , where as with genuine sufferers Iv noticed it looks almost painful when they tick , like they must constantly be dealing with muscle pulls because of the harsh jerking that they don’t even expect
@@TheAnimefool It's kind of hard to explain without actually seeing or experiencing it real-time, but best way I can put it is there was a very clear lack of what I call "automatic movements". Hers looked scripted, as in she knew what was going to happen and reacted/prepared for it. Real tics look almost (and sometimes are) painful, like watching a body in a small car accident. As far as verbal tics, that's a little harder to outright explain, but if you watch example of people who genuinely have the syndrome (SweetAnita is a good example), you can see the differences.
"I was bullied off the internet" I was literally bullied for actually having tourettes. It really bothers me that something I suffered for has now become a trendy thing for people to gain off of. Edit: I'm happy for all this support. It's nice to see that most people aren't like what I experienced in school. And I'm happy to know most people mature over time. If you get bullied in school, try not to hold it over them, it'll be healthier for you and them if you learn to leave it in the past.
That's why I don't tell anyone, and leave whenever I start ticcing, cuz everyone thinks ur just a spaz. And its people like her that cause these stereotypes.
Kids are cruel and lots of them make fun of others to make themselves feel better. I don't know too many people that weren't bullied at least a bit in school.
An ex girlfriend of mine had mild Tourette’s, and it plagued her every day. She had severe OCD on top of it all. So the random outbursts would drive her insane, and make it 20 times worse. There were times where she would end up having full panic attacks and meltdowns because of uneven out bursts or messes made by a physical tic. It is a horrible, horrible thing for anyone to go through, and I don’t know why this person thought it would be cool or quirky to pretend they had. I don’t know if it was to gain sympathy and traction for the business they had, either way it’s gross and exploitative.
I completely agree. I hate people who use severe disorders and diseases to promote their businesses and gain attention from others. This person clearly doesn't know what they are doing, or they do, and just think it's funny to do so.
@Trinity M I don't "just" hate teenager girls I hate everything and before you start using big words to make your point look more valid atleast have a quote or something to back it up instead of just throwing those words out there
I mean who would want to do something that they don't wanted to do repetedly? like SweetAnita, every ticks she had are all vulgar words, who would wanted to unintentionally say d*ck and f*ck every 5 seconds?
@@xyre8443 The worse I hear there are muscle movements causing extreme fatigue and pain not even letting people sleep. It is so rough. The medications involve muscle relaxers which makes it impossible to drive and hard to do stuff that requires focus.
I have Tourette's, and I laugh about them all the time. I have a pretty severe form with constant swearing, and sentence long tics. A lot of the time I laugh because if I don't I'll cry from frustration, but a lot of the time that I'm with friends while ticcing, I don't mind making jokes about it.
I'm in my 40s and left-handed, and I can assure you that doctors don't make a note of that in your files. I've spent my entire life telling medical professionals ahead of a shot or blood draw that I'm left-handed because if I don't, I'll automatically get a needle in my left arm.
I've never had to tell a medical professional what my dominant side was, they just looked for the best vein. If your dominant hand is incapacitated by a blood draw you need to see a doctor for waaaaaaaaaay more than being left-handed.
do you really have issues with your arm after a blood raw? some vaccines can have reactions but if your arm feels numb or weak or whatever after a blood draw you should look for medical attention
Unfortunately, we live in an era where the most easiest way to get famous is with lies and absolutely disgusting acts, like overeating, fake giveaways and... faking of diseases.
My brother had Huntington disease he was diagnosed with it in his early 30’s and was gone by the time he was 43 , it is a debilitating disease that causes the brain cells to die leaving them unable to speak at all after a while unable to move or function and is very painful . She would be bedbound by now .
"I have been bullied off of the internet." No, lady, you were shamed off of the internet. edit: someone replied saying, and I quote, "she's non-binary" then deleted it after everyone told them how hilariously stupid they are for saying "she." This wasn't a troll; a troll wouldn't have deleted the reply.
I've had tourettes for about 7 years now. In junior high I met a friend, who thought it would be a funny way to grab the attention of our peers. When it worked she claimed she had them through out highschool. And when it wasn't grabbing attention anymore she moved onto schizophrenia :)))) I absolutely hate people like this, and the second I saw it, I knew it
The same can be said with all those ppl claiming they have depression and bipolar disorder. I'm willing to bet less than 50% are actually clinically diagnosed and more like emotionally self diagnosed.
back in highschool one of my classmates had a really violent tic where one of his legs would suddenly kick up while he hunches and covers his face. It was so bizarre. Another one got paranoid schizophrenia and thought the things on the walls were cameras and they could hear the people on the other end?? just all of the sudden one day they'd look at and talk to christmas decorations and leftover thumbtacks on the wall in an accusatory tone. I'd think they were faking if they didn't look so scared and unhinged. It's not fun and I don't get why people would fake mental illnesses.
This reminds me of my dad He would fake mental/physical disorders to get attention It was also to manipulate me Now that i look back at those times it was really obvious He would be like "omg im so depressed i tried to commit suicide so many times, i should have died, i want to murder people im so quirky and insane" Or he be like "Im so sick i have cancer, my stomach got ripped appart i can barely eat, im handicapped, im sooo much of a cripple" Then he be doing shit like, telling me to kill myself, say that depressed and mentally ill people are fucking [Insert R-slur] and that they're just weak and should beat their illnesses, and he would smoke like 3 packs a week and do drugs Oh, did i mention he's 60? He's been doing this forever Fucking attention seeker
Tourette's usually worsens with anxiety so the fact she had no tics when she made what would have been a very stressful video at the end there speaks volumes on its own.
Right, I was thinking those past vids aren't much of a proof for this exact reason - maybe it got worse at some point. But this last video should've been full of ticks.
The way they at the end then still go "yeah but despite having a clinical diagnosis." Really made it go from feeling kind of bad for them to losing all sympathy for them.
The big factor is stress. especially when I teach him and it has time limit, that's triggering him. It's sad to watch him ticking, and always comes something "new". It's started a little before he turned 6y old. He has ADHD along with it, so he has behavioral issues too, children don't want to play with him. He can be annoying and easily getting annoyed if someone not nice with him or he has to wait for what he wants. Has anger issues too.
plus the fact that they said they were ashamed of and hid their tourettes as a child, the stress of holding back tics (especially as a 6 year old) would've brought them out even more and made it a million times more visible to their family. their sister would've noticed
@@rat-gang- What I see on my son, a 6y old comfortable doing the tics at home, not holding it back. so especially at home should be noticable. Somewhat they holding back only at public places, but a 6y old (mine 8yold) unable to hold it back 100% in public. In my opinion only adult with T's able to control/ hide it somewhat.
I hate peoples who fake it. It takes away the credibility of people with actual tics. I have tics - not Tourette’s, tics are much less severe - and even then they are exhausting. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for people with Tourette’s syndrome and it’s so frustrating to see tiktokers come along and try to make it a fandom. It’s not a fun quirk, it’s a disability and should be respected just like other disabilities should be respected. Also reminder that people with tics or Tourette’s don’t always tic 24/7. For me it happens when I am stressed or tired. If you’ve met one person with tics you’ve met one person with tics.
My son has tourettes!! I've watched him struggle for the last ten years since he was 8 yrs old with uncontrollable and embarrassing tics that has truly affected his life. How someone could fake tourettes is absolutely disgusting...I am just sitting here appalled and honestly sick to my stomach. Wow unbelievable!!! I've watched my son tic so much that he would get pain in his neck muscles. He would cry a lot when he was younger because kids at school made fun of his condition. When his tics came out as vocal (profanity) the entire 5th grade had to be taught about tourettes syndrome before my son was allowed to attend. Some people have NO idea about the kind hell this condition has put on so many.
I am sorry for your son and I will for him for you. I hope that the tics can get better I don't know if they can go away but I hope that your son can or has made friends and that people would be nice to him. Have a good day and thus is optional if you are not Christian but tell him that even if he is alone God still cares for him and loves him even if he has any illnesses God does not care. And if it makes you feel any better my brother has polymicrogyria so he cannot hear and his bones are weak thus forms more problems than imaginable but with the use of good doctors and helping stretch him if we held him up he could walk short distances to the other side of the room and my one parent would start with him and the other would catch him at the end so if he can overcome it than I believe that your son can to. I hope you a great rest of your day.
the fact she used "i have brought so much attention and awareness to Tourette's and helped people with it see a doctor" as an excuse for her actions is so delusional, she thinks she needs to have tourettes in order to help people or how helping people negates from the fact she only attention and sympathy. iv met a couple of girls with her personality type very self absorbed and no shame or guilt
I’m so so sorry for your son and I really hope it gets better. Stay strong! I’m just a teen and i don’t know what i would do if my future child had tics or any type of disorder/disability. It really disgusts me to know that people fake these disorders for clout. STAY STRONG! 💜💜😊😊💕💕🥰
I hope your son has an easier time of things soon. If it helps, I knew a kid with Tourette’s in high school and nobody, absolutely nobody bullied him for it. He was a cool, nice, smart kid, and nobody cared about the tics at all. Hopefully your son finds this type of situation instead of bullying, kids can be so cruel
What makes the situation even worse is that she didn't even apologize. Instead of just admitting she was in the wrong and realizing that faking a disorder for views and money is disgusting, she was basically like "Ok fine you won. I'm done advocating for Tourettes. You bullied me off the internet, it's your fault and now I'm going to (involuntarily) donate all the money to show everyone how good of a person I am. Are you happy now? Now leave me alone pls"
@@v_doll It was proven multiple times in this very comment section she was faking the bio. She described herself as a lady multiple times and used she/her in the letter she forged.

The fact that she was giggling and smiling when she'd get "ticks" infuriates me. I've seen people with genuine Touretts struggle with their condition and ticks were extremely bothersome if not painful. For her to be smiling in the face of people who actually have this condition while faking her ticks is unbelievable and disgusting. Then she had the gaul to pull the pity card by saying "I was bullied off the internet". She was the bully. She was preying on the people who actually have Touretts and making money off of them by messing around on camera and laughing at her lies. Glad the account she was using to make money off of her lies was taken from her
I have ET and sometimes I cannot even eat in public. I had a tremor episode the last time I was at an airport, and people looked at me like I was crazy. On the internet everything is beautiful, in real life people treat you badly for your differences.
She even said “Regardless of the fact that I have a clinical diagnosis”. The diagnosis that the whole internet worked together to show that its a fraud

My girl friend also has Tourette’s and when I met her I felt bad because I never heard of Tourette’s before until I met her 7 months ago when I started 8th grade and it makes me sick that people fake mental illness for attention:( what a shit world we live in
You guys are gentlemen not even gonna lie. I wish I could say the same but I’m honestly thinking no one wants me because of my tics. I hate how people look at me in public when I have a stressful moment and my tics getting really extreme. At least I am really lucky that I don’t have the swearing. Which yes, is in fact possible.
I really don't understand the appeal of capitalizing off of the pain and torment that someone else has to deal with on a daily basis. Edit: good lord ig i must be tired because the spelling mistakes made me look like a 3rd grader lol
It literally wasn't their job to do tick awareness videos, they took the spot of someone who would have needed all the support and who ACTUALLY has ticks. Them saying they did it for a good cause is straight up bullshit.
Hey, i have Tourette’s and i wanted to input a few things. What they did is not cool, and it was proven other ways, so i’m not saying this video is wrong, but i did wanna input that assuming someone’s faking solely based on how long they go without having a tic is extremely problematic. It’s more of a spectrum, some people do have them constantly but in most cases people can go hours or even days without a tic. And it fluctuates. I can go a whole day without a tic, and other days i have them much worse. I was accused of faking for years until people realized (after 6 damn years) that i wasn’t. And that’s how it goes for most of us. TLDR// if you don’t have Tourette’s and are not a doctor, please don’t go around accusing people of faking it. (Even though some people do fake it, like this case.)
@@useraccount333 I think that’s the point tho, people shouldn’t go around necessarily pointing fingers on who has it and who doesn’t based on video lengths & amount of tics at every case. And while in this case it might have been a hint to being fake there was more to it that others could decipher showing that duration/periods of absence of tics are not good indicators to call out every person. Much like any mental disorder or similar neurodivergences people online can’t make guesses because they saw 5 minute long clips and each video had different attributes showcased at different lengths, and calling people out for faking it solely with this as a case is not only harmful but rude meaning if you think someone is faking it you’ll need far more solid evidence than just how long they’ve gone without showing a certain trait.
Yes it is so fing good to hear someone say this I have friends that literally baby it’ll take every minute for an hour and then the rest the day they won’t tic at all it’s such a spectrum and fluctuates so much and no one has a right to say you’re faking based on your duration I know friends that have even struggled with this in diagnosis because sadly some people in the medical profession arent even educated. Personally I tic from my ptsd and anxiety and you have no idea how many times people have said that I am trying to fake Tourette’s when I constantly tell people that I don’t and ticing is a symptom not the whole mental disorder . Also since PTSD can cause tics and causes my tics I couldn’t even get diagnosed if I wanted to which obviously I don’t because I do not have it. I really wish people actually educated on the topic instead of just going around calling people fakers it is so sad and disheartening that someone would fake this and it is terrible and it pisses me off but also the duration of Tics is no way of showing truly anything you can never know anyone’s life from what’s on the Internet. I am happy she got caught and stopped as it was the case this time but it’s not the case every time. And it’s truly hard and I can’t even imagine how many people saw this video who may possibly have Tourette’s and haven’t been diagnosed because how sporadic or unfrequent it happens Who were probably set back i’m realizing they struggle with this mental disorder and getting the help/support they need. I truly wish you the best and I hope you have a good support system I am so sorry for what you have to go through💗
They think its a personality. They’re so privileged that they have to fake something that don’t have or aren’t ever going to have so they seem “quirky” or “different” and a small chunk of the crazy side of the lgbtq who thinks being apart of it is a personality like to fake DID and have their “alters” all be non binary and genderqueer etc etc. they treat it like a dress up game.
When She laughed about almost POKING HER OWN EYE OUT WITH MULTIPLE SHARP OBJECTS it’s just an immediate “this is fake” flag. Someone with a tick that dangerous would never be allowed to be alone for their own safety, in some kind of treatment, ANYTHING but filming it and laughing about it.
And I also wonder how many people with Tourette's are allowed to drive. I remember watching a youtuber who has it (the name escapes me at the moment) and I don't think she can drive because it would be too dangerous.
@@Crime_Mime The girl (youtuber/streamer) you're referring to is Sweet Anita, maybe? She did a stream/video (don't remember) where she tried to drive on a course or something along those lines...

Same goes with people who fake having body dysmorphia or soft ball it with "gender queer". Its todays goth/emo. It is completely unsurprising to me that someone who would fake Tourettes would also call themselves gender non-bianry for easy, unchallengeable victim points.

@@Handles_be_dumb No, the sister choosing to use Them is a great example of how the narrative can never be questioned. All someone has to do is say they are something and *poof* you have to fall in line without question or face the mob's wrath. Tourettes is a medical condition with a diagnosis. Those others, well, all you have to do is say you are and therefore you are. So questioning or challenging is not allowed.
While it's fairly obvious that they were faking it, I feel like it's important to clarify that tics are a spectrum. Everyone who has it tics at a different frequency every day. I have a friend who is diagnosed with Tourette's and every time we hang out they have a different frequency of the amount that they tic.
thank youuu. seeing media like this makes me doubt the validity of my diagnosed tic disorder because it’s usually so generalized that i have to stop and think about the fact that i can go days without a single tic or think about them and they get worse or the fact that things in my environment can and do very much impact the tic that i have in that moment and remind myself that it’s still real and i’ve never faked a tic before.

People that fake Tourette’s infuriate me so much for this exact reason. It fantasizes/makes light of something that seriously impacts people’s lives and raises unneeded suspicion around people that actually have it. I’m so sorry that this person did something like this.
For real, I knew it was fake as soon as she laughed about it. I don't have tics so I can't really say anything, but I know someone who does, and whenever they get their tics they look like they're about to cry.
my brother used to have some type of tic disorder when he was little where he would blurt out vulgar words in school. the school psychologist and administration didn't understand it, and it got him in a lot of trouble to a point where cps showed up at our house to investigate us. it is true that awareness about these types of disorders is important for reasons like this, but this is, for obvious reasons, absolutely not the way to do it. they are not to be made light of. honestly part of me is disgusted and part of me is amused, because she deserves all the shame and embarrassment she brought upon herself.
I've met a few people with Tourettes. One had the rare kind where they cuss constantly. I always felt bad for them. They can't help it and they can't control it. They want nothing more than for the tics to go away. The idea that someone would want to fake such a debilitating condition is really messed up.
It's the same with people that are sad saying their depressed. Problem is with every illness people love to leech of it for attention so they feel more special never considering what people with the disease actually go through daily. Tics put so much strain on you not just physically but mentally, and it’s something that me and so many other people have to deal with on a day to day basis. People like her just add to the misconception that Tourette’s is ONLY complex tics (involuntary movement, shouting, etc.), when there’s people who struggle with smaller tics that still put SO much strain on the body. As someone with OCD since 5, I think the whole obsession with these comes from ignorance of the superstition and the famous myth: "people with disorders tend to be more intelligent than average". My cousin has ADHD, and I have seen my mother several times proudly tell others about my cousin that "he is intelligent because of it". And when I told my friends that I had OCD, they were a little envious, saying that it was a "trait" often associated with geniuses. In spite of the fact that I have been ruined by ocd for most of my life. People are too blind. Don't romanticize.
Romanticism of disorders is definitely dangerous. In my case, I am autistic. Some of the most famous examples of autistic people depict us as being socially awkward geniuses. For me, it caused many behavioral issues as a child and makes it difficult for me to perform certain tasks because of sensory issues. Sure, I'm intelligent, but I'm no Sheldon Cooper. Disorders really need more accurate representation in the media so people can come to better understand how they affect our lives.

She could have made videos on tik-tok talking about Tourette syndrome and raising awareness about it that way. yeh this is the difference I've noticed with people who really do struggle with a physical problem constantly that is out of their control for the most part vs. Someone who may have some sort of problem, but its either falsely exaggerated out of delusion or it's the result of an inability to take responsibility for the things that they can do to effectively cope with their situation. For 10 years, I have had chronic pain and inflammation with a currently unknown etiology, although the various clusters of symptoms and biological symptoms that cause the pain, inflammation, and, most noticeably, extreme exhaustion and chronic fatigue are finally beginning to be understood by my current doctor. One of the things you will notice about people with longstanding chronic disorders is that they will express a strong sense of camaraderie and connection with all people who suffer in a remotely similar way and will refuse to act like they are the most pathetic figure in the world, at the very least, out of respect for those who we know have it even worse than us. We do this because our sufferings give us an understanding of just how bad things can really be while most people will most likely have no idea how bad life can be until you have everything taken from you. Most people wont really understand the depths of possible misery that your own body can put you through until they old and grey, but if you know, then you know. You acknowledge it as a part of who you are, but a healthily coping person in these circumstances will avoid making the true extent of their invalidity and turmoil known to the general unless you are trying to explain the severity of your needs or you are intentionally trying to fish for excessive sympathy to remove responsibility from yourself. To make what I am saying more clear, just take a look at the difference between her demeanor and exposition in her video about the possibility that she will most likely develop huntington's symptoms vs. how she expresses herself and carries herself when talking about her tourettes and supposed other disorders she has. She feels the need to laugh about her tics on camera, whereas someone who has become long used to their disorder just learns to move along when they are being affected in the moment and not explicitly trying to make some kind of joke or humorous observation about their condition. There are other fishy things about the way in which she presents her struggle with tourettes that are also red flags, but people with tourettes try to not let their disorder interfere with their normal routines and interactions just as much as I try to make sure that, even when I have severe flareup, I am not letting it get in the way of saying or doing the things that I need to be doing. also, as someone with a degree in clinical psychology, her health conditions list and format is complete bogus nonsense and no clinician or doctor would ever list these disorders the way they are listed. Not only do the disorders have improper code classifications, such as saying "OCD with anxiety disorder", the disorders that somewhat resemble proper code listing do not have sub-diagnostic specifications when they should, such as autism and depression. Autism is never referred to as autism spectrum in medical papers, it is always listed as ASD-1, 2 or 3 ever since the DSM 5 was released. And depression always lists the nature of the depressive disorder, such as MDD (Major Depressive Disorder), Bipolar Disorder 1 or 2, etc. A medical history would never be listed this way or in this format. One error from the video was a quote from a reddit post saying that 'OCD is an anxiety disorder so it would never be listed this way". This is not entirely true. So while it is true that it would not be listed in this way on a medical history, OCD has not been subcategorized as an anxiety disorder in the US since the DSM 5 was released in 05/2013.
Exactly my point, "you all win" makes it sound like she wants US to say we were wrong in accusing her when it's pretty clear that she's faking it. Sounds like what a manipulator would say.

I don’t have Tourettes but I am disabled and this “faking disability for clout” trend is baffling as well as disgusting. I can at least say that despite the letter totally being fake, I’ve had doctors mess up those letters before, getting my age wrong, saying I’m right handed when I’m left handed, and they do typically start their letters with referring to me as a “lovely young lady” in the opening for whatever reason, it’s a pretty pointless addition but many doctors do it. Even tho she’s deleted her accounts for now, I’m sure she’ll attempt to creep back online at some point. People who are compulsive liars for attention like they are, will want the attention back, they desire attention so much they’d do anything for it. She’ll probably wait until she thinks she won’t instantly be dog piled by “haters” (aka everyone that remembers her) and will likely have a new elaborate story and illness to fake. Whatever mental illness she has should be addressed, but I have a feeling she’ll avoid any doctor actually capable of helping her.

There are more girls getting diagnosed than boys right now (since 2020), and I'm pretty sure boys are 3x more likely to have Tourette's. And Tourette's usually shows up in early childhood, but all of a sudden a crap ton of 13-17 year old girls are saying they just started experiencing tics. They could be tic disorders but I highly doubt it's Tourette's because there are very specific criteria that needs to be met. Sorry for the rant on your comment lol, but yes people with Tourette's are very infuriated with this
I'm pretty sure they feel infuriated. I don't have Tourette's but I unfortunately know of sites outside Tiktok where people treat mental illnesses as a public checklist competition of some sort or use it as an excuse to get away with what they say. In Tumblr you get undiagnosed teenagers who list every single mental illness there is and or even legit thinks they are some sort of fairy or anime character in their past life. I don't like to judge people who stay undiagnosed because coming out with possible mental issues is a bit stigmatized in some households and not everyone can avail counseling and other stuff easily. I am up for people with mental illness showing what's life with their condition because it does brings awareness and helps with normalizing or atleast acknowledging that they aren't that different but the reputation we people who have illnesses and such, get is also because of these people who uses it for clout

People have a kink, for a disorder?
That’s disgusting in every way possible

I do too, but only for cases where the subject is clearly an asshole, like this girl. I guess it’s subjective but the line between the internet fishing out frauds and unnecessary canceling is too blurred.
Yeah! It’s ✨dramatic✨ and I love it!

Yes, it's unpredictable, but isn't it SO WEIRD that every time she's on camera, she has MULTIPLE tics PER SECOND? People like her piss me off so much.

The number of people I have met that claim to have Adhd is ridiculous. I'm starting to think experts pretend that the patient is right to sell meds.

There is another guy that claims he has tourettes, and people are actually believing him. Im not gonna jump into conclusions, but his tics are similar to the ones that the faker did. I dont wanna make any assumptions, so if you mind, can you check out his channel? @Charisma Musician No, they're just saying that even though Autism isn't often faked online for clout, they still take it personally when people do this
Me too. I don’t have any diagnoses yet, hopefully I can find treatment for my mental issues, but I feel you mate.
People faking disorders, and that is any disorder, really scrapes my nerves and it does not make me a positive person to talk to. My best friend suffers from a lot of things that make him feel like a pile of nothing. Just hopeless and helpless, as he used to tell me, and seeing people faking it and using these diagnoses as personality traits, f*ck it pisses me off.

If you're gonna fake a disorder, you might as well face the consequences. I don't have a disorder, but I do understand that having any type of disorder is painful to have. The fact that they are milking this is absolutely disgusting.
Exactly!
As someone who is on the autism spectrum, its not that bad, but people who fake having it are scum, because it does fuck up popular understanding of symptoms, an example is stimming, which is repetitive behavior autistic people do for comfort, I sort of tap my feet for example, other examples include clapping, pacing, or snapping fingers repetitively, a lot of people who pretend to have autism will often have very exaggerated movements they call stimming, this can lead to misdiagnosises if the parents dont recognize the behavior, ans mis diagnoses will fuck you over like nothing else
Bullying her off of the internet is not enough, bully her off from society, we do not need scum here
I have 2 disorders adhd and speech disorder, people shouldn't joke bout this shit. Throw em out of society
i have Tourette's and have spent my entire life embracing my disability. I never got upset in school when my friends would joke with me and call me things like paint shaker or t-rettz, I embraced it and joked along because I knew if i didn't laugh at my self and bring peace with it, I would resent it my whole life and till this day i still feel the same way. I am light-hearted and joking about it. But seeing someone fake it for attention and fame hurts me to my core. it's a real struggle I feel every day and makes my life very difficult, there is nothing that brings me more pain and anger them someone faking it. Because if you had it, you would be trying your best to pretend like you don't even thought it's literally impossible. i just cant with these people it takes away from the people who actually have it and need the attention and care.
Bingo… that’s how you take control. Laugh about things you can’t control.
i feel this so mutcch its so upsetting the fakers and selfdisgnosers. why do people do this ivjust do not under stand
That apology reddit was absolute BS. She could have raised awareness for Tourette's syndrome without pretending to have it. She could have made videos on tik-tok talking about Tourette syndrome and raising awareness about it that way. It is all just a final attempt in order to stave off the hate by attempting to get sympathy from people and guilt them into feeling bad for her.
But you know people much rather watch someone with terrets cause they think its funny
yeh this is the difference I've noticed with people who really do struggle with a physical problem constantly that is out of their control for the most part vs.

There was a Twitch streamer with tourettes that got harassed and banned because of her tics. She swore, said slurs and screamed - none of it her fault of course - but because people see fakes and think tourettes is cute, quirky, and seems controlable, people said she was using tourettes as an excuse to say rude things or that she should be able to anticipate a tic and mute herself. The doctors note, even if it was written by a real doctor, would be so suss that were I to get it I would be doubtful of the doctor’s competency. Aside from PTSD 2x there is:
1. Tourette’s is missing syndrome
2. Petit mal seizures is outdated terminology for absence seizures
3. OCD with anxiety (as mentioned in video)
4. Diagnoses lists should be in order of most to least medically relevant/significant so if there truely was huntingtons idk why it’s 4th considering how debilitating it is in middle age
5. Autism spectrum missing the disorder part
6. No ‘year of diagnosis’ is a bit weird considering how you’d want a timeline for a conditions list this long and overlapping
7. Presenting complaint is ‘treatment for Tourette’s’ which doesn’t belong there

As somebody with Tourette's, it makes me very upset. I've been seeing a lot of people faking it on tiktok and there has actually been a huge increase in adolescent teenage girls getting diagnosed with Tourette's because it's the "cool" thing to do now.
Sorry for the rant on your comment lol, but yes people with Tourette's are very infuriated with this
fr
