It's, to be honest, terrible to see a young girl like her getting bullied over something she said to a person in private 4 years ago. Imagine thinking people don't change in a 4 year time period. Must be terrible to have so many people watching every step and "mistake" you make. On the other note.. I've been addicted to your content lately, keep it up dude!
does saying it in ‘private’ really make it less bad? if you make the choice to send an angry message that is screenshottable and permanent then you’re making the choice to accept the consequences of whatever you say in that message. i just can’t see how anyone can have sympathy for someone who would say such an evil, hateful thing regardless of their age, gender, or the level of ‘privacy’ involved.

The way Sunny worded this was perfect. But seriously Tik Tok is just such a negative place. Hope nothing like this happens to you ❤️❤️❤️
Yep. If only. This amount of outrage over this girl loses all credibility because it's not at all genuine. It's bandwagoning, clout chasing bullshit over someone who is obviously vulnerable. I find it way more evil, insidious, and scummy than anything she ever did.
What I’ve garnered from this is 1) Don’t say racial slurs [easy] 2) Apologize as little as you possibly can, because cancellers won’t care, no matter what, but at least regular people might possibly respect your tenacity. 3) People on social media take literally everything that isn’t disgustingly positive as a negative
People say "educate yourself", and then she actually wasted time 'educating' herself. Their response? "I don't believe you educated yourself." You can't win with these people.
@The General I have a hard time collabing with people I like on a smooth work flow. Imagine everyone acting like a bunch of religious zealots from the inquisition calling you evil essentially. Have you ever been through that? You try it. But maybe you're a child with zero life experience, so things still seem black and white to you. I don't know, but wait until the mob comes after you, because they *will* . Wait, so she used a slur towards a (one) person in PRIVATE messages and internet wanted her to apologize PUBLICLY to WHOLE black community? Make it make sense!
Yes ,and it makes sense, she used a RACIST slur multiple times. She was definitely being racist and this offended a lot of people (in most cases people say it in a song or like once in a less offensive way like Pewdiepie but she said it like she meant it). Saying the N-word comes with a lot of consequences ( even if it was a long time ago) and she had to face them.

The way the audience was treating her is the reason i am so glad i dont have tiktok… i know plenty of normal people use tiktok but the amount of full blown idiots on that platform is too much for me to handle.
Yeah it’s so bad, especially when you’re someone with ADHD. This goes for all people too though. The way TikTok’s algorithm works is that it gives you content you may not like or agree with so you spend longer watching and commenting. And that’s just not good for your mental health to constantly be exposed to so much drama and negativity. I know for myself in 2020 I was completely stuck in TikTok and the whole app was already so toxic and the negativity was REALLY starting to affect me bad. I’m just glad I got off and feel happy for myself that I’m the only one in my friend group not on it. Yes I miss out on the memes they see but I laugh at them surrounding themselves with such a shitty app wasting their life and mental health away.
i’m tired of hearing “she/he didn’t even apologize!” and the second they do it’s “not good enough and crappy” even when they take time away to educated themselves and learn it still isn’t enough for anyone.
exactly nobody owes the public an apology, even if they're famous. humanity is fucked. nobody is actually "educated" enough. everyone just really needs to go their own way and stop giving a fuck (or just continue to do so), it's really the only way.
I mean sometimes an apology isn't good enough for what someone has done. Of course though I am not saying that for this situation because it just seems entirely stupid.
That's because, if people accept the apology and forgive the person, it means they can't give the person shit any more for the mistake they made- and these people don't want to do that because they genuinely enjoy dragging someone through the mud. The "problematic" thing the person did is just an excuse to legitimise their foolishness.
It works if ur a small content creator too so people won't be doing as much milking video to bring up a 10 month old drama titled something like "onlyjayus fid something really bad" 'this is why onlyjayus is cancelled" etc, why is no one pointing out all this tea milking channel
I'm not on any side here, onlyjayus deserves to get cancelled but not too much. People are taking it too far, give her a chance again and maybe she'll improve. If not they'll definitely bring this to more light
Jayus’s biggest offense is just not being emotionally ready to handle the internet before blowing up. She’s not an evil person and doesn’t deserve to be deplatformed, especially when compared to the far far far more problematic content creators on the internet.
Tiktok afforded groomers access to underaged children that are there for saccharine "cat can smile too" videos. I think it's not a stretch to say that the people picking on a content creator with paper-thin skin then acting surprised when she lashes back in the most hurtful way she can think of (which frankly is far from the worst thing one can say, this seems like the pewdiepie debacle all over again) to regain some semblance of feelijg of control over her online life are being a fair bit focused on themselves rather than actually important shit. Because frankly, the fact they not for a moment consider that she has a similarly bad (if not arguably worse) experience as a neurodivergent in a neurotypical world and only seeing her skin color...yeesh.
No her biggest offence is using Raciest slurs from what i can see. if that isnt on the list of her offenses. I am unsure about what that says about you.
This is why you don’t apologize for public backlash, only apologize if you genuinely believe you did something wrong, similar to dream’s case, if you apologize once ppl will demand apology’s for literally everything and anything.
In dream's case, you mean when he was called out for cheating with facts and just doubles down that he didn't only to later admit he did? Nah just say oh fuck I did my bad.
And even if you do apologize- a lot of the time they just won't accept it. These people don't care if the person they're cancelling actually feels sorry, they just want to see the creator vulnerable so they can go: "HA HA NOT SO BIG AND TOUGH NOW ARE YOU!?" All because their feelings got hurt.
This is exactly why I don't use tiktok. The negativity and hate on tiktok is seriously ridiculous, and Jayus's situation proves it. Apparently, she had to literally MOVE APPARTMENTS just because of a mistake she made 4 years ago. And she literally apologized. It doesn't help that some people tried to take advantage of the hate she was receiving to gain more popularity and followers. Tiktok is fucking terrible.
Not only that but “cancel culture” is literally pointless. Like wtf r ppl trying to do when digging up someone’s mistake from six years ago? It was years ago, past is past and it seems like her “enemies” are the only ones that need to fix themselves, not her
why are there so many poeple fucking kissing her ass? It doesnt matter if she said it 4 or five years ago she said some fucked up shit. that apology that she made was faker then travis scotts
I hate how people bring up other incidents when arguing. “WHY DID YOU COMMIT A GRAND BANK HEIST” “I didn’t” “Well, it says, 30 years ago, you committed assault” “Yeah?” “SO YOU MUST BE A ROBBER FOR DOING SOMETHING WRONG 3 DECADES AGO!”
I dislike every party in this scenario. I dislike OnlyJayus' use of racial slurs, her cringe inducing coverup and general attitude to similar content. I dislike people trying to cancel her for something stupid like that. I dislike AuntKaren's narcissism and weaponization of the race card. I dislike the Tiktok and reddit users who try and provoke her and/ or think that they are doing a good thing when they mess up someone's life because of their hero complex.
Everyone involved is a p.o.s. I get trying to hold people accountable for things but constantly adding fuel to the fire is just childish. Whenever I see drama on TT that really is not worth my time, I just block all those involved. These people should learn to do the same.
If you notice the people attacking her, most all of them have large followings. They aren't interested in her redeeming herself, theyre interested in dragging her down to stir up drama because the longer they drag it out the more clout they get. They're here for views and ad revenue, not social justice.
She is a perfect case study on how you should never bow down to the outrage mob. These people will never be satisfied with your attempts at apologising so you’re better off just ignoring them.
dude she has ADHD, people with ADHD have severe problems and process different things in various ways, its not easy being like that but the racism was actually a bit too far which had offended a lot of people

@@tiagogomes513 yes people that are older can have a opinion on subjects everyone does and for this to happen 4-6 years ago in the conversation you can see she never apologized so I think her being 20 now I guess she was mature enough to apologize but let’s face it the real problem is that if those messages weren’t linked she would’ve never apologized.
Shes actually touched on the apology video, and it WAS scripted. But it was scripted because she was so scared of accidentally offending someone with the apology itself, and kept overthinking every little detail. Then people bashed her for scripting it
Poor girl learned the first rule of the internet: never apologize. Everyone has said something stupid at some point in our lives, especially when what was considered funny 5 years ago now is labeled “offensive”. Accept it and move on. You can’t change the past, only your future. And if someone is more focused on what you may have done or said forever ago instead of who you are today, then they aren’t worth your time
I definite would’ve scripted it too, because that’s how I would’ve shown how sorry I am. Like I don’t just wanna come up with an apology on the spot, I’d want it to be good if I was yes people to know I am being sincere. But that’s just me.
@Nameless no I'm just stating that if this drama is really affecting her at a personal level like some.peoope think it is then she should quit making videos. Never even said the word hated

the fact that they basically squished an apology out of her and still got mad and called her out for that apollogy its stupid, they literally took advantage of her inability to comprehend an hate comment and ruined her entire career smh

Apologising these days is the worst thing you can do. No one ever believes it is genuine. Maybe it is not genuine but even if it is it does not matter.

I thought the same thing... And while the way she responded to all the hate was less than ideal, and she should absolutely work on that with a professional and/or with the help of friends and family, people with ADHD do tend to feel emotions very strongly and it can be very hard to let things go, which is why her response doesn't surprise me at all. It even strikes me as reasonable considering the way ADHD makes you feel things and makes you act impulsively. I should know, because I have it too.
Yes I miss out on the memes they see but I laugh at them surrounding themselves with such a shitty app wasting their life and mental health away.
i’m tired of hearing “she/he didn’t even apologize!” and the second they do it’s “not good enough and crappy” even when they take time away to educated themselves and learn it still isn’t enough for anyone.
exactly
nobody owes the public an apology, even if they're famous. humanity is fucked. nobody is actually "educated" enough. everyone just really needs to go their own way and stop giving a fuck (or just continue to do so), it's really the only way.
never apologise, if you give an inch they will demand to take a mile
I mean sometimes an apology isn't good enough for what someone has done. Of course though I am not saying that for this situation because it just seems entirely stupid.
That's because, if people accept the apology and forgive the person, it means they can't give the person shit any more for the mistake they made- and these people don't want to do that because they genuinely enjoy dragging someone through the mud. The "problematic" thing the person did is just an excuse to legitimise their foolishness.

These things hurt us more than you realise people, just because we don't react to something how you and your friends would, doesn't mean it's the sign of a bad person, someone who just needs to try more.
