Mars Hydro FC-E8000 PAR and ePAR Tests & Review

- The Mars Hydro FC-E8000 is a large 800-watt LED grow light designed for 5x5 coverage or 4x4 coverage with supplemental carbon dioxide. It is similar to the FC-8000, except it costs $200 less! I tested the FC-8000 two months ago. One month ago, I rated it the best 5x5 Grow Light, but I had not tested the FC-E8000 at that point.
In this review, I run the FC-E8000 through the same PAR and ePAR tests that I did with the FC-8000. We’ll look at them all side-by-side. Will the Bridgelux diodes on the FC-E8000 be able to compete with the Samsung and Osram Diodes on the FC-8000? We’ll find out and we’ll see which is the better light and which is the better deal!

Fc 8000 @75% dimming for a 4x4 is finally better than two Sp3000 which in my opinion has been the best value setup for a 4x4 , the fc8000 will save a few watts of power and provide a better overall map , MARS is hands down the best bang for buck lights out!!
Amazing review. Thank you very much. I'm going with the FC-E8000 for sure.
Thanks for all your time. Vary good advertising for Mars-Hydro.
Sure helps make up my mind for my 5x5.
I’ve e been waiting for this review since November!! I bought it based on you reviewing the “fc8000” well. Used my CCFC coupon, plants are now in 3rd week of veg set @ 213 watts. Tomatoes in the 5x5 are curling, but the girls are loving it. Thanks doc!!
I was looking for this review so badly a couple weeks ago. I went ahead and pulled the trigger and I’m glad I did, especially after seeing these numbers!
Yeah, you made a good choice. Sorry it was a couple weeks late for you, but happy it worked out! Grower Love
Another great review. Looking a price point and numbers this is in my opinion the best 5x5 light on the market at the moment. Thank you for the great detailed review
Thank you very much for all the info dude. Outstanding work! You have convinced me
I love your videos. The 5x5 grow space comparison video was super enlightening. You sold me on the photonek 1000's
I would love to see your POV on HLG Diablo Scorpion's.

Awesome reviews, thank you. Looks like a good 5x5 light. Now that this light Is out, I'd love to see the FC/E 6500 series retested but In a 4x4 this time...Cheers :)

Review rated 10/10
i love your videos bro keep them coming please, but youre testing LED technology only wich i love iam huge fan of but i would love to see comparison between top class HPS technology this days, is it really the times when HPS are totally outgrown by LED ?? Or they can still offer something. Please i would love to see that. Thank you
Good luck
Yep got that FC-E8000 up and Running in a 5x5

Great stuff. Will you be testing the FC-E1000 ?
Growers love Coco.☘🍀..
My plants look like they are praying. 🙂 just gave them a feeding.

Amazing video!! Verry good information 👌🤌I was wondering how the par map would look like in a 5×5 area, 30cm over the canopy with a 1000ppfd reading in the middle...🤔 hope you have time to answer. Regards Daniel ✌️
I agree, I'm also waiting for a reply
Great video thank you! Just picked up a few fce8000🤘 any chance you know the troll master connection for it ?

What 660 nm red diode does the fce have ? Is it bridgeluxx as well? I know the fc series uses osram 660 red diodes

Super led grow light
WOW man that light is like BAM like a nukehead or somthin dude!
Hey Dr. MJ Coco Which Light is Better ? the Mars Fc8000? or the photontek x600 led? i Am Looking at a quality fixture that Performs well in producing Top Quality Flower?....also how does the photontek x600 compare to something like the Luxx Led 645w? i am having trouble deciding,,,since no one on RUclips has done a Review of the luxx led 645w vs the photontek x600 we need this test,.. THank YOu so much!
Could you do the medic grow Smart 8? I think it's higher power draw and lower price then the medic fold 8 will set a new price record
I use one in my 5x5 and its the Bee’s Knees.
Missed it :( really would have like to be a part
What would be a better option without co2 when using on a spare bedroom 7'-11x9'-2" and a height of 8'-". I have kind led xl 1000 in veg now and I want to buy this before flower. I have 2 more weeks until flower in my 4x8 tent and will use the room after. Also can I run these lights at 100% without co2 in the 4x8 tent and in the room I mentioned?
153 a shout out from New Hampshire
hi again good luck
Mars has come a long way since the ufo
I recently purchased the Mars Hydro UR45 which has 30w UV and 15w IR. I have this mars hydro FCE8000 that I'm going to attach them to. The UV seems to have only UVA in the 365-420nm and IR in 730-745nm. How would you recommend using this light since it's only UVA do I use it during the full light cycle or still 1-2 hours mid day? Also how would you use the IR? They are both on independent switches so I can toggle them individually or both at the same time. Thank you!
Hi Doc can you do a review on the PHlizon ph-b8-d full spectrum UV/ir triple channel dimmer led grow light I would be real appreciative thanks:-):-):-)
Is there a touch screen light controller/timer that works with this light ?
I recently purchased this light, and haven’t used it yet, I’m surprised that it didn’t come with recommendations concerning height and dimming adjustments. Does anyone have any suggestions, I would prefer not to buy a pod meter, I do however have a lux meter. I am new to this
Hey i love your Reviews, the best and detailed i‘ve ever seen:) is it possible to enter the giveaway in the Lifestream from Germany?
Thank you for your work buddy

Smashed the like
Crazy how the scammers/bots or whatever the fuck are flooding the net these days
What if you adjust the bars? 3 bars together on outside and leave the two in the middle as they are…
But Bridgelux diodes will last less cycles than Samsung and Osram diodes?
Is that true??
Which one do you think would be better for a 5x5 with no CO2? FCE8000 or FCE6500
Thought about the 8000 at 80%
in a 5x5 you can run the FC-E8000 at full power - so it certainly has the higher potential harvest. Grower Love
Do you think 2 of the fce 8000 in 4x8 is overkill? Or would 2 fce 6500 be better option
@eppy epps exhale bags or tanks I have access to both.
@eppy epps thanks man, really appreciate the info
Quick question. Why is it recommended that supplemental c02 be used?
Because it is very powerful, especially in a 4x4. To run the light at it's full power you need to be using CO2 or your plants will burn. Migro recommends CO2 ppm match the par.
How is the PAR test different from the ePAR test?
Epar got to the range up to 750nm while par only 700 nm. Something like this check the picture again. He already wtrie on it.
Mars website says the fc produces less heat than the fce. You say the fce is cooler. Is that just the surface temp or heat emitted into the room?
Can I use w/o C02 supplment?
optic650s optic 750 test please
Ty for your time.. much appreciated sir..

would this work well in a 2 metre x 2 metre tent?
Wondering too.
But the se7000 sure does the job
I have seen video some guy just doing it right now
Better bring co2 to the party
Which # is the prize-winner?
I really wonder why they don't simply split these huge fixtures into 2.
The amount of backbreaking and necktwisting you have to do to adjust these things is scary.
KindLed and ChilLed seem to be the only guys doin 3 Bar fixtures so far.
#MarsHydro best lights
lol 😆🤣😂
optic650s optic750 3.1 umols way better build and made in America🇺🇸 10year warranty
They are ok, my bro has the 650 and I have the 6500 fc and I get better yeilds tighter buds much nicer product, we use the same nuts and feeding schedules lol Mars are the best bro 🤣
I still use ts1000 for seedlings and clones in 4×4 had it for 5 years now
@@jansondennis2438 photontek x600 led is way better Yellow penguin used gavita 1700e led, think grow led ... and many more and he concluded the Luxx led 645w is better then all of them

Bought this light in May. Its August and its broken. The ballast or wires to the ballast are shorting out . The connection started smoking
Its a fire hazard. Emailed mars hydro. Still waiting.
I want to win
Iam really confused i think i allready watched this video a while back iam I wrong?
I tested the FC-8000 in December. This is similar, but not the same. I compare this FC-E8000 to the tests I ran with the FC-8000. I do understand how this could be confusing. Grower Love!

200 is kinda not big difference
It is not, but considering the performance is nearly identical why not save the cash.
Mine died within 30 days. Maybe bad luck, but that's pretty terrible. I've reached out to Mars about a refund and return and hoping I hear back soon. I think I'll look for something else. Was a bright light, but now I'm stuck with plants in flower and no light and a seriously lacking customer service to reach out to.
How is it going?
@@rmcnasty7319 Im curious too, eying this light myself. If customer service is this bad i might shift to migro aray 12 even though its more expensive just for customer service.
@@eival your right. I've herd a few others complain about lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE . Migro just don't put enough par down.
I Want at least 1,200 par , across the 4×4. Using Co2.
Did they ever replace light.
@@rmcnasty7319 I don't use CO2. But for me in the EU good lights at a low price are hard to come by. Those shipping fees + import duties are no joke looking at medic grow lights for example. And at the moment mh has a awesome deal. But I'm not gonna buy if customer service is very bad. My 5x5 need the best light without CO2.
can i win

Did someone win the bad a$$ light yet?? LOL
Mars crap dro really turned it around
It's all fine and dandy but mars hydro surely don't communicate on their inflated PPFD numbers that don't match in reality (in a professional integrating sphere, and by the way who places his led light at 8" of the apex of plants, maybe strawberry hobby growers but not professional growers^^), their bogus yielding g/watt (of what ? bananas ? Tomatoes ? They know they can't provide a theoric number on that, that's really a goofy move on their part, but hey it works on the sheep mass who doesn't know about leds right ? ), nor the case occured in less than 2 years ago of product safety report in uk and europe about clients receiving electric shocks while connecting the FC-E 3000 led panel to the electric plug and manipulating the panel (great chinese manufacturing standard to be proud of, and i'm sure good working conditions for the sl*ve workers there). , but it's nothing compared to the flat out lies about PPFD and efficiency of their older models, when a PPFD map was available, no complete info on the led chips used, and some miraculous modifications of efficiency numbers on the same version of a led panel model quickly after another brand commercialized a same effective or better led panel. I'm not even gonna talk about their copycat strategies, this brand should be renamed "lazy-copycat-opportunistic liars". If you want the truth, just type "Spider Farmer, Maxsisun, Mars Hydro - Entry Level LED Grow Light Comparisons, Test Reports & Reviews" and look at this interesting video from AlboPepper, it exposes shady tactics and lies from these brands.
24inch test is a waste of time..plants people grow are bigger than 6 inches tall..the light is 18 inch away from the canopy..what im saying is if we put 600w hps on the ceiling the light will not reach the floor..even if you filled the ceiling with 600w bulbs it still would not reach the floor ..but the 1000w hps can be left on the ceiling and the light reaches the floor..so how far can a little 3-5w led bulb travel..i think people are too focused on the canopy with these tests..similar to a torch i can buy a $1 torch and it reaches the back fence..i can then buy 100 of them and the light wont go any further the area its lighting will be brighter..but if i buy a single maglight torch that uses 4 batteries. the light will travel alot further than 100 cheap low powered torches
