Thank for the upload! We're just getting back into LED for flower, they've really come a long way since putting them down, we love LEC/CMH but we just finished a grow in our spare tent under a 300watt using the LM301B/ Osram combo and I was extremely impressed..you got a new sub Growmie, keep them coming!! ❤💡🌱😽💨
Super thorough and comprehensive!! I like how he breaks down each category at the end
Glad you enjoyed it! :) Grower Love
Unreal video as always from the Dr. Amazingly digestible information 💚🌱
Thank You! So happy you were able to join us for the premiere Aus. Grower Love!
Thanks Dr. Coco for the excellent review. What a great video! You have a pleasant presentation style and good speaking voice, and share some really great and useful info about grow lights. I'm going to have to watch more of your videos. Btw, I'm here because of the Growing With My Fellow Growers show. Thanks again for such a detailed review of so many grow lights!
Thank you kindly! Grower Love :)
Wow thank you for all the hard work and giving out this info for free. Awesome evaluation.
Uh what a treat this will be. Got notification at 20:30 evening. But, oh can't wait till morning coffee to properly enjoy watching this. I know i will enjoy totally.
Awesome video thank you so much for putting this great information out for us.. been in the hunt for new lights for the flower room and have had my eye on the fold 8.. and this definitely helped the decision needed.. thank you so much brotha!!💨💨👊👊🙌🙌🙏🙏💚
Thank you for this video! Great content, I’m new to growing and am looking to get my first good lights (my 1st plant is quickly out growing my cheap internet 2’x2’ coverage area) this made the decision much easier. And I respect the amount of work you had to do for this video! People don’t understand just how hard it is and how many light samples had to be taken.
What did you end up going with for a new light and how do you like it ???
This is freaking AWESOME! Thank you and well done.
Thank you coco, and all the other channels you mentioned, thanks. 🌱
The best grow light shoot-out I've seen. Great work! Subscribed!!
Thanks for the sub! Grower Love
I want to see the spider farmer se7000 go through this test.
With shrinking my grow from 7-8, 1khps lights, into a 10x10 tent wanting to run only2 lights (going strictly personal) I think I’m about sold on the MG EZ8. It’s not the best, nor worst but for overall cost to bring in 2 of them. That’s a big choice and overall better in my opinion. This has been an amazing series you have started Doc. I’m glad I started knowing you guys when site was just taking off!!!! Always doing amazing work!
Amazing video, thank you for your diligence. I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on the Photontek and now it's a no brainier, cheers mate!
I got a couple of the Mars FCE 3000 but I'm seeing new ones without mean well drivers but mine have mean well drivers and I love em. And great price ‼️‼️ especially if you get them directly from Mars
well you saved me a lot of money doing this, i decided on going with the medic fold 8 in my 5x5 ac infinity tent, i figured the few spots on the corners would not get usable light anyways because i will have clip on ac infinity fans on he poles of the corners, so it figured for cost it works best for me, thanks a ton bro and thanks for these codes to save us all money, this is gonna be a total upgrade from using two 315 cmh lights because they was just getting my grow space too hot at a average of 85 degrees lol
Extremely helpful
Thank you for all your hard work
Really appreciate the time and work put into this. It's time for me to upgrade the light in my 5x5. I was able to make a decision based off this work. Mars Hydro FC-8000 it is!
Did you see any substantial increases in yield and overall plant growth?
@@robmen1402He probably never even purchased the light lol
@@NoemadZ.Or if he actually did like me, he’d be posting about how the dimmer switch fails on ALL of their lights after about 2 years… You’ll suddenly be getting half the output at full dial and won’t know unless you have a light meter m, etc. Turn off the dimmer function, and the fixtures do rated. Mars won’t do SHIT about it either and that’s after spending thousands. 😂
Wow .. That's f'd up. What IS the best light for a 5X5 ??
thanks for this amazing video mj. its between the fold 8 and fc-6500. when the time comes it'll basically be whats in stock.
Please make a comparison video of lights for 3x3 tents. The video for 5x5 tent was the best comparison video i have ever seen! Just amazing!!!
Great video with an amazing amount of information, thank you!!
Your review of the Medic Grow Fold 8 convinced me to get it. No regrets. It is physically wall-to-wall in my 4x4 tentun @t 80% it is ridiculous. I expect a long service life at that setting. Thanks for all that you do and best of luck in the NYGC :) my first grow along
Yeah, that is a good set-up! Let's Grow Together NYGC! Grower Love
Do you think that I can get one for a 5x5 and just set it up higher at maybe 90% to get full coverage?
@@drissbeaulieu Bro these lights that he featured in this video were all optimal for a 5x5, lol. So yeah, you can def get the medic grow for your 5x5 set up.

Phenomenal video! Thank you for the in depth knowledge sharing. This was extremely helpful for me.
Thank you :) Grower Love
Fantastic vid! I rarely sub after one video, but I did here.
I have the FCE-6500 (just added the new Mars hydro supplemental IR-UV bars) and have been super happy with my decision and this just helps affirm it thanks CCFC !
Thanks for your positive feedback. It will encourage us doing better, no matter the quality of the products or after sale service. We are learning more. Merry Christmas🥰
Great breakdown! I bet it was a ton of work to make this video. Thanks.
I wish you would have done FC-E8000 this light is right in the mix as top light with even lower cost..

hes reviewing that light soon
Thank you for your analysis!

Great video. For us budding growers in Thailand (where cannabis has been legalised as of June 2022), we have a limited selection of lights to choose from. Fortunately Mars Hydro and some other brands seem to be making inroads into distributing here, Managed to get myself a Mars Hydro FC-E8000 for my indoor grows.
Good to hear you guys legalized it there. I read the first sentence and thought you had to be nuts to grow in Thailand. Enjoy! One of my favorite things to do.
You think a boom cannabis grow will happear?
I love your country and I would love to go on an adventure, I'm good growers and I could bring magic mushroom grow aswell !!
I’ve been running fluence spydr 2i lights , and absolutely love them . I bought a failed commercial bulk batch of these “most brand new “ for 400 a piece !
I bought the roi 720 based on your video now I wish I would have waited but you made it sound absolutely awesome oh well I still love ❤ it
It is still a great light, but this is a rapidly changing market. I tested it first among these and most of the other models did not even exist at that point. Even then, I thought the efficiency was a little low and I said that, but the E720 still puts out a lot of light and makes a good PAR map. Grower Love
Made my mind up after this video. Definitely a Mars Hydro FC 8000 for my 5x5. Now just have to save up for it.
Have 6 fold 8’s, bought off your review, mostly cost and par map. They work very well! Worth every penny! Thank you Dr Mj Coco!
Heads up, I called that phone # and supposedly I won the FC8000 LED. They want you to send them $140 to ship it to you. Scam likely.

Thx it was very interesting
Man u should be working R&D for a light company I've never seen someone go so deep into detail keep up the good work 👑💯
Love your channel and a heartfelt thanks for all the help you give to hobby growers!
What about light spectrum? Meaning the quality, range of light spectrum and penetration. Isn't this important as well? I think people get too caught up on canopy top light and not realize that light is also needed for the nugs beneath the canopy. I'm not a botanist or horticulturist. Just using common sense which seems to be a dying trait in today's times. I realize that duplicating natural sunlight is very difficult and may only be achieved at great cost inefficiency. The sun doesn't just shut off certain spectrums for plant growth. Is it possible that you run tests with the factors above in mind?
I have several requests for the benefit of the community:
1) Compare the quality and range of light spectrum of various lights for a 4 x 4 and 5 x 5. I believe these are the sizes that most people will use.
2) Could you also test Timber Grow Lights, Electric Sky and any other light manufacturers that you think are worthy as well in these tests.
3) Could you test different grow tents for the community?
I am unaffiliated with any company. I am only interested in growing the best quality nugs for my money. Thanks again.
im running a se-5000 in my 4x4. draws 480watts from wall. So far so good.
Great video
Love this video and the detail in the breakdown. Currently running 2 800watt Mammoth LED's and i have zero complaints and LOVE the light and the customer service. But this video has convinced me to look into Mars Hydro fFC-8000. Price and performance seem too good to not give them a chance to shine in the grow room.
ChilLED, look into those.
@@ThePopaul87 looks like a decent light. A little on the pricey side though.

Absolutely! Glad you approve :) It is important to compare tests with the same maximum PPFD. Grower Love
Thanks for sharing
I have 9 sp6500s . I'm very happy with them .
Great video! Love the content . One question though .. do you think given new research of the 750 nm spectrum that it may be worth using a e par ?
Yes, I have been using the Apogee SQ610 sensor for ePAR tests and it is now a standard part of my protocol. I did not have it for all of these fixtures so I only compared their PAR tests. At this point, I am running both PAR and ePAR tests for all fixtures. Grower Love
Great Video as always👍👍
Fold 8 is still crushing it! Proud owner, Order #7
Your awsome medic grow . Proud to be a partner. And support an awesome company 👏 growers love ❤
Thank you! The Medic Grow fixtures certainly hold their own. Keep making great lights and I am happy to show what they can do!
Truly amazing information. Can you do an updated test for Marshydro FC6500? They have a more recent version that mimics the FC8000 Diode spacing. It uses 3 rows of diodes instead of just 2 and also condenses the diodes at the sides, while spacing them out in the center. This might just move the 6500 above the 8000.
Thanks for videos
Thanks for watching them :) Grower Love
Fantastic video! You should do one like this for different size tents!
Thanks! I am certainly thinking about it. Gotta keep testing ;) Grower Love
Please make a comparison video of lights for 3x3 tents. The video for 5x5 tent was the best comparison video i have ever seen! Just amazing!!!
And for a wider price range (or even for reasonly cheap lights) to see how they stack against the rest! *And then you could have a real 'give away' of the cheap lights 😁😂
can't wait to see a video review of HLG Diablo Scorpions. Hope that's in the works

I fell in love with that light the 1st time I saw it reviewed. If I had a tent that size that would be the light for me. Now I just need them to make a 2x4 light
I bet you do, saw your grows. It is a shame i cant get one without paying a premium on a premium to get it to the Netherlands.
Could you check out the 320 watt canon from blacksail market. The owner Keith has been on the grow from your heart podcast a few times and the light seems pretty cool, It's like a giant pop can shape With one giant led diode in the middle I think it's dimmable but I'm not sure. Thanks for all these dope guides you and Shane have been putting out.
You are so blessed to be able to have lights like that. I would cry if I had just one of these lights to change my grow and ultimately change my life
Would there be any benefit using the FC-8000 with supplemental Co2? Excellent review btw.
With german electricity prices, i pay more for powerconsumption in one year than these lights cost in purchase so effiency >> all, therefore i chose a led light with 2,9 µmol/W. i really would like to see you testing the growcraft from chilled as they say they have at least 3,0 µmol/W.
Good testing methods, nice vid, keep it up :)
Some of these lights are 2.9 umol/w in a Sphere test, but that is Total PPF/Watts - the numbers I show are Usable PPF/Watts. The Usable PPF is always lower than the Total PPF, because photons are lost. The number that matters most to us as growers is the Usable PPF = The amount of light that reaches the canopy. Also, I did test the Chilled Growcraft Ultra X3 - It does have a somewhat higher Usable PPE, but the up front cost is significant. Grower Love
@@DrMJCoco thx, wachted the entire video to hear what you already wrote here (thx for the effort). using the greenception gx9 i actually get close to the chilled ultra x3. i did this for longterm purpose, saving energy for climate and some money since we pay like 40 to 50 cents per kw/h.
After watching this video, I went to Ebay and seen the new Mars Hydro FC-8000 on there and the going bid was for $487.00. I bid on it and someone out bidded me. I placed another bid for $504.00 and it ended at 10:23PM and I won it for $504.00!!!! I got it and put it all together. I'm disabled and paralyzed on one side of my body with a brain injury and putting it together was easy for me. Thanks for this video because without you making it, I would have never bought the MH FC-8000!
I was looking for a light and wanted to get the Mars Hydro FC-6500 with the Samsung diodes for long life, but I accidentally purchased the FC-E6500, so I came back to this video to check out the views, and you actually put the FC-E6500 over the FC-6500 in more ways than a few even though it has the better diodes. My light hasn't gotten here yet, but I'll be like a six-year-old on Xmas morning when it does. I have the Mars Hydro 2000 right now, but I just got a 5 x 5 real cheap and need something bigger and better. Compared to what I have now, this will be like bringing the sun into the tent.
Nice! I would choose the FC-E over the FC for my grow. Serendipity :) Grower Love
Was your last tent a 4x4? Or any recommendations for a 4x4? :)
@@beerye3750 I got the FC 4800 and it's good. Some get the FC e 6500 for a 4x4. I just grow for personal use and the FC4800 is good enough. Sometimes it's hard to cank it up to 100% last 2 weeks of flower because it's to strong for my plants

Just ordered my second photontek co2 pro! I can only imagine running these in arrays is going to blow out the grow room, and I think with their controller a grower can dial in the PPFD to 1000 for grows without co2 ✌️💨💨
Hey i really need your help since you have the light. The photontek co2 pro.. is it worth buying if i dont use cO2? If so what would be the best light?

Totally agree with this statement, look at my post or comment I should say. I think it really changed this review. Really should’ve included the FCE 8000 not just the FC.
with the price of electricity set to double in next year or so , having an efficient light is very important for the home grower as well as comercial growers too. really well made video & a ton of info thanks .
All i will add is I have a 5x5 & on my first ever grow I achieved over 20 oz with 2 vipaspectra P2000's (400 watts) so you can achieve great results with a lot less bucks not only in original outlay but in running costs too . I do feel we all being bombarded on youtube by sponsored channels who are telling us we need bigger & bigger lights just because they earn comission for themselves & to sell more products for the light manufacturer unnecessarily...
I certainly agree that you should use light efficiently! It is the most expensive part of being an indoor gardener in several ways. The P-series are pretty efficient QBs. You really dont need to spend a lot of money to be efficient - but there are also bad cheap lights that really dont save any money at all. Grower Love
What makes you think the price of electricity is going to double in the next year?

Update after 5 months of owning and using the Mars Hydro FC-8000. This light replaced a KIND K5 XL 1000 and has far surpassed it in every conceivable way. The proof is in the pudding as they say. Wrapping up the first run using the Mars and I want 7 more of them to stuff a Gorilla 10'x20' grow tent.

@drmjcoco why haven’t you did a test on the luxx or the new flora flex lights that’s being highly marketed

Hey I live in Brazil and many of these lights can't be shipped to here or would be just too expensive. Do you have any recomendations from those alibaba brands? I know mars hydro is there but they said that FC-E8000 can't be shipped here as is too big. There's meijiu, kingbrite, Figolite grow and stuff like that. I was thinking if getting two 240w quantum boards would be too bad over the bar style in a 5x5 space. Or if one of these unknown brands bars would be okay to get.
I think Optic L.E.D should be on that list for sure. Why isn't it. I'm sure it would outperform most all these lights.
I’m really intrested in the fc8000 at 23 inches in a 5x5. You’re jumping from 16 sqff to 25sqft for less than 100 watts more for over 50 percent more square footage.
I know that this is a 2 year old video, but I am in Thailand, and if it isn't made here or China, it takes it a while to get here. The Lumatek Zeus 1000w xtreme ppfd co2 just arrived here. Been watching your videos on its European brother. Hell of a light. Here's where I need some help. Given the choice between the Lumatek Zeus, and the Marshydro FC-8000 evo, which one would you recommend? As there, the Lumatek is about $500.00 more expensive.
I'm still liking the medic grow. 1 is the cost but the spectrum x medic grow on website says it can do a 5x5 space as well on sale it can be purchased for $717 with ur code. Like to see this compared to this list. And the medic grow smart 8 not on this list. Same or close to the fold 8. I'm stuck on the medic grow due to there price.
Odd you didn't include Kind Led. Thank for the video
