Hi, I did everything you said and fixed our washer. Didn't have to recalibrate. Your information helped save hundreds of dollars for a new washer. Thanks
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have a Whirlpool washer which is three and a half years old. During a wash cycle, it stopped spinning and made the loudest, horrible, grinding noise I have ever heard. It was out of warranty so Whirlpool, of course, wouldn't offer any help or advice. Oh, they did offer 10% off if I bought another one! Fat chance of ever buying a Whirlpool again. I have called a serviceman so I'm hoping he can repair it. Thank you again.
Its kind of coincidence that i just did the same with my washer about two weeks ago and now i came across with this video. Thanks jay for sharing your knowledge.
Oh wow, isn't it crazy how that happens! I've had that before too, where I just talked about or did something and then other people start mentioning the same thing.
I’m so glad I found your video. I bought the piece on Amazon and it got here the next day. After I put in the new piece, it took a couple of tries to recalibrate the machine but it worked 🎉thank you so much!
WOW .. interesting to see what goes on with such new fangled clothes washer. I bought my latest clothes washer in Oct 2002 and it is still good; I did have to replace lid switch a few years ago with help of youtube and the blessing of being able to find the needed part. I so appreciate you Jay, and others like you who help people by sharing How To Repair videos on just everything. TY
I hope the fires didn’t affect u. And I hope u r staying busy. With your skill set u would b busy anywhere. Even Pineapple Paradise. Say hello to your faithful camera person. Who does the editing? Great as always
The fires fortunately have not gotten to Big Island, at least no big ones. Thank you for the concern! Will pass on your greetings to my wife and thank you! I still do the video editing myself. 🙂
Thanks Jay, loves your videos! How can you find different recalibration mode setting for different manufacturers? It seems nowadays manufacturers hide all these setting & informations to keep do it yourselfers away from fixing various appliance problems.
You're welcome! I agree, it does seem like they purposely hide it away. Most of the time the "secret service manual" will be hidden either in the back of the washer, behind the back cover panel or it will be taped on the inside of the washer in the front corner. You would need to disassemble and lift the top to get to it.
We have a washing machine about 2 years ago it was flooded so we just stored it, tried it today it still works. Its also a whirlpool. Is it safe to use? Don't really know much about em but I could open the inside
Thanks Jay for the great teaching today 👍 and the four outa 3 , could of thought 4 outa 2😊 lol, and enjoyed the math trick today. God bless you and yours ✝️🇺🇸
You bet! Thanks for stopping by for the new video, glad you liked the math trick! We receive the blessing and may the Lord abundantly bless you and yours as well!
My sister asked grandma for her washer and dryer when she was in her death bed sorta. I asked why and my sister said because grandma has had them for EVER and they never broke or wore out. That was 2017 and they still run great.
Good evening thank you so much for this information, it worked and saved my family from spending a huge some of cash ❤❤ can't thank you enough keep up the good work 🎉
Recalibration sequence: 1) Set back where it was turn on and wait at least 30sec 2) Twist dial counterclockwise one full rotation back to normal 3) Turn three clicks the right 4) Turn one click to left 5) Turn one click back the right *All must be complete within 3 sec. LIGHTS FLASHING WILL INDICATE CALIBRATION UNDERWAY
The actuator has also a sensor for the tachometer. This is why the tub must be rotated to calibrate the unit. The tachometer is a speed sensor that aids in agitation and spin and the lid lock.
Had same issue twice. No spin and wash light on. Found mouse nest under transmission pan where the shift actuator is mounted. The actuator has a speed sensor and the mouse nest was preventing the sensor from reading correctly.
Looks like I have the exact same washer 👍…. Question, mine goes through all the cycles wash/rinse just fine, except the very last final spin cycle. So, could it still be the same part (actuator) that is keeping it from doing the final spin. This just started today. Thanks for any suggestions
It varies from model to model but if yours does not have any lights there are probably no recalibration procedures besides just unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
I just bought my whirl pool washer, the 2 in 1. It washes but doesn’t drain the water completely and leaves my cloths wet after the cycle finishes, but if I switch it to drain and spin it completes the cycle and leaves them dry. What could be the problem ?
I have the same washer but a different problem. The drum does spin but tends to bang the sides of the washer. Even if the load is perfectly balanced is still bangs. Even when empty there appears to be too much play with the drum. You can easily push it from side to side. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Need help: 🛑 I have a 8 yr old Whirlpool Bravos MCT dryer that randomly stops drying. I have to wait 2-3 minutes until I can have it start up again. I replaced the thermostat 2 yrs ago. New belt last year. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Load was out of balance. I couldn’t get to it in time. Machine walked 90 degrees before I could turn it off. Now bowl is not centered in machine. About 2 inches of center. Can this be fixed ?
Was washing clothes and then all of a sudden my washer would not spend or nothing no more it tries, but will not what would resolve this problem? any help would be great appreciated..
What if it doesn't drain? It gets to the point where it should drain and stops there. I can force it to drain by setting it on Drain and Spin and restarting. But it still doesn't spin. Again I set it to Drain and Spin and restart again and it spins out. Is it still the same part?
Is it possible for something to get stuck in the motor? My apartment complex are stating that I have to pay $800 They’re saying that a toy car got stuck in there and I don’t know how that’s possible.
@@WordofAdviceTV of course my issue doesn’t seem to be anything stripped out. Ive taken out and cleaned plate. The gears dont seem to damaged and the actuator feels to be good (the machine is only a couple years old). However, it sounds as if the noise is coming from electric motor. It spins, but makes a god-offal noise and tub doesnt spin… 🤔
@@jameycreel9330 Did you figure out where the noise was coming from? Mother in laws is making this horrible noise and doesn’t spin either but I haven’t had a chance to go take a look underneath yet.
Hi David! Good to hear from you! I was away on a trip so I only got around to answering comments right now. I checked my spam and held for review folders but unfortunately the long message is nowhere to be found. ☹ Sorry about that. I hope you are doing well, greetings and love from Hawaii!! God bless you and yours!

thanks Jay on the tips on the washer have a great rest of the weekend be safe
Thank you! May you have an amazing rest of the week as well!
Thank you. I ordered it from your link, but with the whole clutch kit as apparently it is the clutch that makes the actuator go bad(?).
It worked! Thanks. But I noticed when I shifted the gears by hand it was pretty hard to push. So I worry my new actuator will crap out eventually.

We have replaced this part twice and recalibrated but it still won't spin.
One can use a car jack to tip it back
