Interesting about the grip meter. I can often tell how a lifting session is going to go by making a tightly clinched fist and seeing how it feels in my hand and forearm. Even for leg day. Sometimes it doesn’t feel quite right and I know that I’m not fully there either because of too much work, not enough sleep, sickness, etc.

I only need straps for 1 arm rows with 250+ pounds. I use a healed shoe on bench tried it on squat felt horrible prefer barefoot to any shoe. But I use a healed shoe on sumo deadlift because barefoot or in a flat shoe I lose balance but the reebok healed shoe eliminates that. I do have noticeable scoliosis my hips on 1 side sit up 1 1/2 inch higher than the other. I've hit a 630 back squat in wraps but nowadays 225 is painful so I just stick to Zercher and front squats

I don't fully agree on couple of things here.
    1. I have a problem with excessive sweating on palms in general. I do use gloves when lifting otherwise the bars just slip out because of sweat. On top of that I wouldn't like anyone in the gym to touch the same bar after me, it is unhygienic and gross. It is in itself already very embarrassing and stressful condition in everyday life. So calling me sissy would be just a simple bullying in my opinion.
    2. Squat Bar Pads - I don't use them myself but why someone who didn't properly develop their traps yet should give up on great leg exercise? Especially if their legs can handle it well? There are a lot of beginners there with different level of development and I see absolutely nothing wrong with using pads.

The Smith Machine is easily the worst piece of equipment. The only legitimate use is for doing incline pushups if someone doesn't have the strength to do a bodyweight pushup. Even then, you can do them against the wall or a bench and not spend thousands for an incline pushup machine.

Most people can go years without using straps on a deadlift and a lot of people don’t do them right. If you bypass your hands with bad form your lower back is probably gonna be the first thing to suffer. Straps only apply to certain things. Try using straps on a tire, stone or sandbag. You’ll see straps or even mixing grip isn’t possible on everything and your nervous system doesn’t recruit muscle fibers the same way. A 300 pound stone feels much heavier than a 300 pound deadlift. The handling of the object is the only difference but yet one feels almost impossible compared to the other.

Haha, I wear gloves sometimes. But only in the winter when my garage gym is 0 degrees and the bar is so cold it feels like it's burning your hand after about 5 seconds. I also use the pussy pad sometimes on squat. I do, in fact have back muscle. I happen to stay fairly low bodyfat all the time in combination with the little bumps of my vertebrae being VERY prominent in my upper back and neck especially makes it so the bar tends to grind right into that bone even when I get my back all setup correctly. I have been trying to use it less, but once I get about 300# on the bar it really grinds into that protuberance. I have some other skeletal malformations that don't effect lifts or daily like, but I suspect that's whats going on. Like my sternum only partially developed as well and I have this large bump of bone and "funnel chest". Lol, and I use straps once I can't hold the weight anymore. Partly because my bar is cerakoted and the knurling kinda blows, and because I deadlift to build my legs, core and back. The grip strength is nice but also somewhat meaningless since I don't plan on competing. I can still pull a bit over 300lbs without the straps, making my grip strength far strongernthan your average joe, and more than adequate for regular daily life. Aside from rock climbing, and powerlifting in competition obviously, I don't really see any real advantage to having crazy grip strength.
