Love the part about working the lockout on tricep extensions! When I was 19 I decided to do that and start light and only go up in weight slightly every couple weeks and yeah I never aggravated my elbows. I gained an inch on my arms and when my friends worked out with me they couldn’t even budge what I was doing with ease!
Nice, I learn something from Wenning after each video, I'll be incorporating a lot more of his techniques into my training and watching his videos before each session for the muscle group/s I'll train. Cheers heaps.
I try to do very high reps with moderate weight, and using only up to 3 seconds to rest between reps. That seems to give me the most growth I've ever seen in my arms. Such as calves, I do 140 reps, with only up to 3 seconds of rest between to let the burn die down and then I continue this until I hit my target number. Biggest calves of my life lol. Tyvm for the informative video. I'll be utilizing what I learned here in just a bit when I'm headed to the gym. This came right on time. 💪💪🦵🦵
Hey matt would this help with building strength to or just muscle size? You’re videos are awesome by the way been lifting for years and because of you’re videos been breaking pr’s left and right with almost every different lift
The dumbell elbow back curls made me think of Vince Girondas drag curls. The Scott curl hammer down a version of zottamans? Ill definatly try my triceps have aleays responded well but my biceps are poor
hey matt i am of the opinion that even though the long head of the tricep is the biggest head of the tricep the long head is not active in bench pressing and shoulder pressing. Only the lateral and medial head.
Since we are on the arm training subject. I looked up on the internet " who invented California Press". Came up JM Blakely. As I understand JM was born in 1965. Well originally, I am from Poland and the thing is we were doing this exercise since 1968, and I remember very well that I yanked this exercise from some American publication at the time. So WTH.
Matt common brother you don't even have any arm's...... Joking. 😂💪 I gotta say I'm sick of hearing people saying big arms are pointless. They just look good. I believe big arms and bigger biceps act crucial in stability of bench Pressing. Especially at the bottom when creating that spring like effect between the tricep again the lats. When you have big Biceps you can also use them to leaver a spring effect with the forearm. Guys that trash having big arms in my opinion clearly wish that had big arms. Good tips brother. Your triceps and forearms have always been huge! Nothing like having 20"+ arms. 💪
Totally agree dude. I plateaued on bench and then I was told to focus on my biceps which threw me off. But I did (using a shit load of chins ups) and my bench went way up.
Heavy biceps equals bigger arms with fucked up elbows and biceps tendons. Doing them as in the vid equals bigger biceps and OK elbows and biceps tendons.
Another quick math calculation is your strength level LOL!!!!!!!!! Post your bench number and I’ll tell ya my age I benched it. Quick math says it was before I was 15 :)))))
In all seriousness using flex weeler as a point of reference for a) anyone....b) for anyone who's always trained drug free and c)anyone who doesn't posess weeler's uncanny genetics is absolutely ludicrous.
Best trainer on the planet

Matt: Dont short stroke it.
Every girl ever: this guy is a genius!
LOL, u took my edgy comment i was about to make
Love body weight tricep exercises props on bringing awareness of this exercise to the powerlifting community
I love them too. Your not locked in as much as with a barbell or even dbs.
Added to my training 💪🙏
Loved the cue of pulling the elbows back. Craziest bicep I ever felt
Yep!!
In before people say dumb things that annoy Matt. Thanks for the all the info!
I love Dips for my triceps.
At least the hater comments are gone with the re-upload. Thanks matt
Everyone loves to correct. I’d love to take them through a workout and shoot a video with no screw ups
@@WenningStrength haha man I'm not sure most of them could make it through a workout with you without a container of high stim pwo.
Gonna use this Wednesday. Thanks!
💪💪💪
Thanks! I’ve been getting lots of elbow pain as the weights have been going up. Damned 45 year old elbows! I feel I have a better direction now.

1:30 spot on. the lengthened position of the muscle is your ticket to hypertrophy. stretch under load is the way.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
But not all the way. Especially with spider curls. Unless you want a tear. Keep tension on the muscle
Another great video. I’ll be trying these curls at the gym tonight
i learnt alot from this. especially the slow 3 second count for both the eccentric and concentric on the tricep extension. thanks matt!

Hey matt would you ever do a video on things you've learnt from charles? or is it applied through alot of your work already?
Not a bad idea. Some is already on patreon.
Do you like JM Press at a higher rep range for size?
Golden information here! 💪
hey matt i am of the opinion that even though the long head of the tricep is the biggest head of the tricep the long head is not active in bench pressing and shoulder pressing. Only the lateral and medial head.
True, you have to do over head exercises for the long head and train it heavy. 8-10 reps. The long head can handle a lot of weight
Do you offer online coaching?
Yes sir www.wenningstrength.com

Didnt poliquin do synthol?
No not that he told me
Wasn't this video posted earlier? :o Did it get taken down?
Needed a correction. Please share around
If slowing things down builds more muscle mass, strength, etc. then shouldn’t all the max effort variations be done in an eccentric motion?
Ask on patreon my friend
Thanks for this, Matt. MMC > weight.
