      One thing though is someone could do a set of five shitty reps whereas another could do a set of five good solid reps with a snap off the floor or a pop out of the hole. I found that five solid reps keeping form good and focusing on that snap off the floor or pop off the chest or out of the hole is better than 8 reps with the same weight but with no focus on that pop or snap. It's the intent that counts on the big three, not the amount of reps with a given weight.

  • @KillianDefaoite
    @KillianDefaoite 3 года назад +10

    5-6 reps has always been my golden zone where I feel I get the most out of training. That being said, I am incorporating more high rep sets (WENNING! WARMUPS!) into the beginning of my workouts and can tell my body is responding well. And, singles, doubles and triples are a great way to overload and are fun as well. The key takeaway here is that I think there is a golden zone where most of your training should occur, but *variation is key* . Your body always needs new challenges in order to keep progressing.

Now to me this sounded silly because the 3 to 4 rep range has always been my sweet spot for strength. Glad to hear a guy at your level with the same thought process.

I just wish at my gym or any gym around here had a hip squat. Years back when I was still on the job, there wasn’t a leg machine I couldn’t max out, plate wise on. I wish I had that devise back then.
