I’ve had mine a year and it’s amazing. Moving slowly over to native AS. I knew I didn’t need a MAX so I got the m1Pro 32 gig ram and 4TB storage. I have 800 gigs left on storage and I’ve never wanted any more gpu power. The battery is better with less gpu horsepower.

Using it with Logic is just fantastic, and most of the plugins U’ using run natively in Ventura, and my Apollo Twin X works fine. Thanks for the demo!

I was able to get 80 as well. When I got the regular M1 I was blown away by how much more efficient it was than my Mac Pro. The quiet thing was the main reason. I currently have the m1 Max 64GB Ram 32 Core GPU in my studio (and out). The 2019 MBP Intel i9 was constantly overheating I had to get rid of hat thing.

OK, I have another challenge for you, but take it at your own risk (I won’t take responsibility if your notebook explodes violently):
-do create just four audio tracks with audio material .
-do load one Waves Abbey Road reverb in each of them.
    -press play.

I understand that there are a whole lot of analog gear and they each have thier purpose and can be genre specific, vocal or percusion specific as well. So anything to start me up would be great. I am going to mainly work on hip hop and pop. Some live here and there (rarely). Thank you.

I have been able to run my Uad vst 2 plugins in Cubase(m1) using Blue Cat Audio’s Patch Work plugin. it is M1 compatible and it can host vst 2 plugins. Uad vst 2 plugins also work in Cubase (m1) in Softube’s console one. This is for all any of the plugins they have integrated in there controller. So basically, the plugins can work inside of a wrapper plugin. Hopefully UAD will create vst3 versions soon.

I tested a 2020 M1 Mac Mini for a while months ago when pondering a switch, I stuck with my windows 12900k desktop. As good as the M1 is, I wasn't getting the benefit needing Rosetta to run a lot of my instruments and plugins. Logic Pro was very impressive, but getting the same fast workflow in Logic Pro x was a bridge too far as life-long Cubase user!

Another question: Any issues running Cubase 12 Pro on Windows 11? (Since nearly all new laptops are loaded with that now. I’ve noticed a comment on a forum somewhere about driver issues on Win11, something along the lines of Windows kicking out the Yamaha Steinberg driver when there’s an update. I hate chasing show stopping issues like that, so I’d prefer to aviod them altogether.) Sorry to drift the thread a bit. @@dezw6485 Just check and double check .Here is an example of some wording used : We are pleased that at this time, all of our plugins can be used on M1/ARM-based Macs, and nearly all of them can be used in Native-based DAWs, without running Rosetta. However, most of these plugins are only compatible in conjunction with Apple's AUHostingCompatbilityService, meaning they will only work as AU versions when run in native-based DAWs, and are not truly able to run natively themselves. We are working on updating all our plugins so they are fully native compatible. For a complete list of the current status of each of our plugins, see below.

@@normjones6916 Thanks Norm I was asking for myself, and for others, I do feel like the plug-in developers. do need our support? I managed to have a smooth-ish transition from Intel to M1
I’m aware of the type of wording that is used, I think some software might not make the switch, in which case, at least Rosetta can work until another alternative comes by or someone revives the software

I use both Mac and Windows, but I don’t understand why it is still taking so long for third party folks to get M1 compatible after 2 years already.

M2 compared to M1, yes, but compared to the M1 Max, it's interresting. nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/apple-m2-vs-apple-m1-max

I ran this project and got to 102 tracks, any tracks after that it started crackling. Weird thing is i am using a 5900x 12 core which has 4 less cores than the 16 core Don was using. Same buffer setting and same exact settings he showed in his video. The only things that's different is I'm using Cubase 12 pro and Don was using Cubase 11 Pro. I'm using Windows 11 and he was using Windows 10. Only conclusions i have to this is Windows 11 is better than windows 10 for audio work or Cubase 12 is more efficient than Cubase 11
