    Hack 11: Many people don't know that its actually possible to have multiple "Channel Settings" windows open at the same time. @ 2:32 just down to the right of your cursor, there is a tiny white triangle pointing down. Click on it and un-tick the "follow button or selection changes". Now you can open the Channel Settings of another channel, without the first one going away.

    • @kevinwilliams4855
      @kevinwilliams4855 2 месяца назад +6

      Ok... I think this may as good (or better). You click the 'e' button to open your channel settings, ok... but if you want to look at another channel without closing your first, you use the Alt key + the 'e' button of another channel you want to edit at the same time. Now you have two windows/dialogue boxes open. Unfortunately, they are overlaid but you can move 'em! 😊

    I use a gaming mouse with extra knobs. One of them is set to regular undo and the other to mixer undo (Alt/Opt + Z by default) A great improvement that I can only recommend because you don't even have let go of your mouse. And for a redo of either of the two just hold down the shift key :) Great for quick A/B comparisons of parameter changes of your plugin(s). 😌

    On some CAD programs which also feature undo/redo commands, some also have an "oops" command which allows one to undo to a specific cammand, press oops and then redo the previously undone steps, thereby eliminating a particular command done earlier without having to now re-perform the other undone steps. I've often thought that would be a neat enhancement to cubase's history finctions.

      It's really not a most, I had that for years built up in my template...I just like to have my main output channel free of plugins to test monitor things without MixBus processing if needed, and also that I like to import tracks from my Mix template into a new mix session when my recordings are, and keep the same routing of my template tracks... That's my workflow since you can't import Input/Output Channels into an other session in Cubase.

      Hey, I get it! Making the DAW switch can be challenging. All DAWs will basically do the same things, but in different ways. You just need to dive into it, and go from there. But If you want to get control over Cubase quicker, you can check out my "Ultimate Guide to Cubase" course. (Link in the video description)
      Here's a video of Barry Johns who was working in ProTools and made the switch to Cubase, and that's the way he was able to do it quickly. ruclips.net/video/70MFCHOXKVY/видео.htmlsi=NGKTbXXMvm2ccWJr

    What I'd like to know is how to get that tight snare sound at 7:20. I have friends / engineers who have gotten that for me in the past, but my learning curve to do it myself is steep. After years, I still can't hear compression, even if I know how it works in theory. I can hear that something sounds better, but exactly what, I don't hear. It could be my ears are going, and I"ll never hear it, but it would be good to be able to do it myself.
