EA has GOT to start paying these girls to make builds out of their new build kits. I was 0% interested in the storybook nursery kit until I saw them put in that adorable opossum, I had no idea it was in the kit. And the changing table! Not having your sims throw diapers on the floor is a huge selling point for the kit and I didn't even know about it.

The stained glass windows shown around the six minute mark reminds me of the book a place for vanishing, which then made me think of a challenge idea: make a wheel of your favorite books and for each one you spin, try to base a room around it

No no no: the Realm of Magic windows are really good if you change the swatch. There is a black swatch that is plain and simple and perfect for diverse. There is a less whimsical factor to it but that is what makes it more diverse.

@aphucinchitzo8345 I think they were trying to stick to the Glimmerbrook starter outside bones as much as possible so keeping to the similar color scheme. Had they gone full redo, they probably would have gone darker since they do love dark academia style a lot.

Unpopular opinion: I like the realm of magic cabinets. I feel like they would match well with my Howl's Moving Castle maximalist fantasy.
Fantasy is such a broad category that I think it would be hard to please everyone. I've been playing with Realm of Magic stuff, and it feels very hit or miss for my personal taste, but I lean very dark D&D type magic, rather than store brand Harry Potter which the pack really feels like it caters to.
That counter top would fit into a Howl's castle perfectly. If it comes in a darker swatch, I'd use it every time.

I’m not convinced their roll was genuine, you can see the text change at the bottom of the screen when they “generate” that says it needs to be 21 tiles and then all of a sudden the list says 77

@caitlinpage the page does open to a random version of the challenge, but I think they just hit the button to generate the challenge. like the thing it opened to doesn't "count" since they didn't hit the generate button.
@lmnojulia Go to 1:38, you can see where the number at the bottom of the screen says "19 tiles in Ciudad Enamorada" and then at 1:42 when they click it, it changes to "21 tiles in Evergreen Harbor."

As someone who loves Art Noveau which is what Glimmerbrook is SUPPOSED to be I take offense with Caryn hating that tile!
To be fair, it def could have been better. If not with quality then colors
@GoulNextDoor oh 100% but it was the birds she hated on specifically and that's because art Noveau is inspired by nature. There's actually a lot of birds in art Noveau historically. 😅

i never noticed the stairs going to nowhere in glimmerbrook LMAO. lowkey though thsoe would be a rlly funny detail to add to a build in henford-on-bagley-- in a lot of british villages that are built around really old houses youre not allowed to change much, they end up with places with random stairs like that that lead to a brick wall where there was clearly a door many many years ago lol !
I appreciate you guys acknowledging that whoever was tasked with building the houses in glimmerbrook probably got a ridiculously short turnaround time assigned to them - like the day before it was set to launch 🙄😂 they're still bad, but I lay the blame solely on poor management decisions and not on the employee that was just doing their best

I’m in the middle of watching this video but I just have to say, I love when Caryn & Connie post because even though I don’t have the sims 4 I enjoy every single one of their builds!
The base game is free, and if you want to try it out, now is actually a great time because there's an event happening ^^ That said, I totally get enjoying just watching gameplay of something you don't necessarily want to play yourself. Enjoying it vicariously through others can be just as fun, and for the sims, that's definitely the case- especially since you don't have to buy any of the packs to enjoy watching others play with them! 😂
i think that the "staircase to nowhere" is based off of the winchester mansion , a house built by sarah (?) winchester, with confusing layouts and other such strange features, which could have been the idea, but id honestly love to see a build like that in you guys' "ideal glimmerbrook style" with multiple staircases to nowhere and stuff. maybe even as a college for the scareority girls???

@emsia005 It was. When you load the website, it automatically generates something. People don't count that. The challenge generated AFTER clicking generate is what counts
