its a new year, time to start on a perfect foot with a build that is maybe doomed? ever since round pools came out we’ve wanted to try an all round build we used everything from curved walls to platforms in this vacation rental. and it- well lets just say we tried!

Oh the struggle. I made a flower shaped boba tea thrift store and that build was a nightmare. It was all curves. I had to get creative with the landscape to hide the sins. Curved walls are a curse but can make the build so pretty. Y'all are troopers for putting yourselves through this.

Last time I used curved walls, it was an observatory attached to the main house... I wound up raising the terrain around the curves and filling the gap with rocks and plants. They were in the desert, so it actually kind of worked out!

He just did a video about a curved bed under a window and I think they followed most of his suggestions! Ground it with a headboard, curtains to block energy, add side tables, lamps, rug, etc.

I think a fun build challenge would be making a shell+ layout of a house and then having to spin the wheel for what type of room has to go in each room you’ve laid out. Like where are you normally might put the living room you have to put the bathroom. I just think it would be fun to watch y’all do!

I kinda want to see either the lost city of Atlantis vibes or the lost Library of Alexandria. You ladies have the dark academia thing down, but I think you can rock mythical/legendary cities or libraries

I love how Caryn said something about the small straight wall dividing the shower but nothing about the giant straight wall dividing the balcony and bedroom 🥲🤣
I think that's because they were straight walls from building 2 curved room sections to make the half circle, so they didn't technically add them? 🤷🏽♀️

would lovee to see a limited pack build from you guys with the random pack generator! i've seen a few sims youtubers do it and it's always fun and chaotic
for build ideas, my favorite builds of yours are where you have really strange/clashing stuff you have to include and then you make it work and look good. maybe something with a wheel to randomize a few rarely-used or difficult to work with items in randomized color swatches and those items have to be included in those colors. the urn should definitely be one of the options
please consider doing a green house- house! Like a greenhouse you live in.

Late for the party on comments, but I have a BRILLIANT idea for a Base Game Build!
Plumbob Manor: Every item that is Plumbob themed or Sims themed MUST go in. The rubber plant from basement treasures. The new stuff from lilsimsie's kit. All the emotion lamps. The hot tub. All of it. You could even theme rooms after different Sims references, if you wanted.
For the base game only builds I do have some ideas actually :D you could do challenges but with only base game (example: each room is a different color but only in base game) you could do the thing where you find real life houses on Pinterest and build them in the sims only using base game. And my scariest idea yet, million dollar house but only using base game. Yes it’s using ideas you guys have already done but it’s like a special (rlly difficult) twist on them

Wooow, the pinterest building was cool and this sims version turned out just as cool! Plus, I'm always a sucker for a neutral palette, especially if it has wood.

Actually, I think they swap the editing position. I can't remember which video it is, but in one of them they kinda "argue" about something and one of them says something along the lines of "Well, you're editing this part so we'll never know." I could be wrong though, or maybe they've changed it.

@@TrainWreck_ Well we know that they film their facecam and building separately (as opposed to using a stream layout to record both at once). It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that one person goes over the facecam footage to pick out the best takes and such while the other edits the build sections that need the most work, and then they swap video per videoo who does the final version where the commentary and bits line up.
You guys should make a mall with themed shops eg cafe, boba shop, clothes shop, shoe shop, bakery,book shop,ect.
Or a garden centre with a cafe and small restaurant so you can display only the best plants
Or a high street with small shops and cafes
It would be challenging but a museum would be so fun to see! A statue garden, gallery, maybe attach a library or cafe area to help take up space. Would be super cool to see if you could make some type of history display too

The time challenges are fun but the best part of YOUR channel is how good you are at building so the time challenges just don’t rlly measure up to me. One idea that I thought might be fun is every room is a different genre of music? You know like one from is pop, rock, punk, country, etc. I thought that might be a cool idea.

Fantastic start to the year! For a base game build, I think it'd be fun if every room had to use 1-3 items you’ve never used from base game, to make you to come up with ways to use some of the weirder items.
It would be cool if you did a challenge only using expansion packs!! since expansion packs are what most sims players would have if they buy dlcs
(To make it more interesting each room is a different expansion pack)
A fun build for base game might be finding a fixer-upper in gallery with several packs, and do the fix-up reno as pure base game.

u guys should do like a little fairy tree village type thing where it’s like the connected treehouse you did but fairycore with LOTS of string lights and LOTS of plants (idk if moss is in sims i haven’t had access to play in a while 😭) but moss would be so cute
The gasp I gusped when Caryn pointed out the “straight wall” just for me to turn around and be on Connie’s side. “It’s not a wall, Care, it’s a partition. Totally different.” The whiplash I had.
I would love a video that goes into why good architecture works, like what a very realistic floor plan would look like and be functional for IRL people not just the Sims characters. Also, I'm learning about City buildings keeping the mass of plants and wildlife destroyed in the process of making a building and putting the same amount back into the building strategically, whatever idea you decide upon with all of us commenters I know will be amazing! As someone who was replicating a Victorian home a little bit ago, which required three rounded walls, I gave up and made two out of three octogons. Major props

I would love to see a themed limitied pack build! Like, family themed packs (so like, toddler stuff, kids room, parenting, hogh school years, growing together and maybe even cats and dogs!), or another theme like that!! Its definitely kinda hard to decorate with limited packs so itd be a fun challenge and be accessible to more people!
Or you could do a build without using ANY expansion packs! Only game packs, stuff packs, and kits!

Base game DIY!!! all the built ins and look alikes for items in other packs (Like the changing table from the ranch mansion)
9:33 If I had to guess, a mix of an ambient occlusion bug and an unintentionally transparent shader. Ambient Occlusion (AO) can allow for deeper shadows than normal lighting systems would allow, but depending on how it’s set up it can layer strangely with other objects, especially through use of screen-space AO (uses your viewpoint to determine where the shading is at that moment). Whatever is calculating the AO might see that this object is technically transparent and show the shadows through it, even thought it’s not and it shouldn’t. But that’s just my guess, I don’t know what kind of systems the Sims uses for its shaders or post-processing.

Really pretty build! A base game build I’d wanna see is maybe like themed cafe or club. Possibly something that could incorporate the eye burning fuchsia swatches and trying to make them look good, which a club would probably work best for.

Base game video idea(s)! Are there any base game items y’all have never used? Put them on a randomizer wheel and try doing something with that like basing room styles off of the item or you HAVE to put that item in that room. OR you have to try and copy another packs style using only base game (I.e. cottage living style with only base game items)

Day 6 of asking to do a sims 4 build challenge that each room is a different price, time and aesthetic. For example the living room is 2 000 simoleons, the time is 5 min andd it is in cottage core style. (You guys rocked in this build like always♥)

Athlete, Business, criminal, Culinary, Entertainer, Painter or. Secret Agent. Another one is do a house-based on New Orleans. Finally, lean hard into base room feels.
I tried to build an orphanage shaped like a trashcan when curved walls came out. I gave up almost immediately because none of the walls would place
id REALLY like to see a britchester wyvern hall makeover but each one is for a different occult sim. i already love occult sims but adding high school dorms to the idea sounds really fun.

Idea: So in Amsterdam there is a street called ‚The Zevenlandenhuizen‘. This street has 7 houses influenced by 7 architectural styles from different countries in Europe. I imagine it would be pretty cute to recreate! It could be similar to you girls’ rainbow houses project.
