Thanks for the honest review about the flaws I was planning to get one, I'm currently using a generic 20a esc on my crawler but the drag brakes on those are strong, even a 50 degree incline doesn't affect it.
I run this ESC in my SCX 10 Scale Crawler till over 10 years .I do most Trail driving but also with some very difficult rock crawling spots and i love "submerging" my truck too. Easy installation powerfull drag brake (nose stands no problem) ha ha. No problem till 10 years of trailing fun. There no other crawling options than forward /reverse drag brake but i like how it work.If you want way more options buy the Hobby Wing 1080.
i completely agree on the default brake setting and the TT02 combo. the TBLE02S also had a similar setting but my radio isnt the fancy digital controllers so i cant do much outside of bump reverse to slow it down faster. i just installed the HW1060 a few minutes ago.
What causes the red to blink as soon as you turn the switch on? I have a brand new one and it does nothing, maybe the nimh battery pack is low on charge..and yes it's on NIMH jumper
I bought on of those for my Daughters Tamiya Konghead, running 2S & either a Tamiya Torque Tuned motor or my vintage Trinity Speed Gems 2 Quarts 19x2 motor. no problem so far. Great video my friend. Good info.
@@johandriehuizen9282 Yes, if the esc has it (the newer ones don't I think). However, it's always wise to use lipo cutoff or a low voltage alarm when using lipo packs.
Hi, friend! can i install the hobbywing 1060 variator on a 1/18 or 1/16 car with a 370-380-390 motor? my fear is burning the engine, can it be installed without burning the engine?
@@chibiskyrc best i can say is if I have to car off thr ground it works and as soon as I try to drive on the floor at more then half throttle it will cut out the seed control and all I see it a red flashing light then I havr to switch it off and on again and will work just can't go past half throttle
Hi bro great video as it covers the 1060 I have in my Amp mt problem i have is no matter how i put the jumper plugs on i cant get reverse out of my car can you make any suggestions
I bought one for my rock crawler running a 2s battery with a 550 brushed motor and it keeps burning my motors up in about 5 mins of running time afraid to put a 3s battery thinking it might burn up every thing so far went through 4 motors
If you're burning up motors there may be some resistance in the drivetrain (dirt or rust in the bearings perhaps). If there was a problem with the ESC the ESC would burn out before the motor. As for 3s I think technically it's capable of it but I would just keep it to 2s for reliability
Bought this for a drift car, hopefully it works enough (HPI E10 NISSAN R32). My old EN1 died when the motor stopped working (checked the motor, works). Hopefully I get it running enough to function with this... 😅
@@TheTobyT It was fast enough to be fun without coming into danger of shattering your shins lol. The only issue was the ESC brakes are so weak it makes it nervous to drive in a small area
If you don't wish to solder, you can get Tamiya (Molex) to Deans adapters online or you can take it to your local RC hobby shop and they will solder on a Deans plug for you! The ESC itself doesn't include any adapters though if that is what you are asking.

@ChibiSky RC I have this esc and have a brushless a Surpass 2445 - 3600kv brushless motor attached to it is this ok, it works.

i order one and the first time i put 3S, only work for about 30 seconds and puff the motor always working i cant stop que car lol
I did some checking and Hobbywing is definitely based out of Japan,Tawain,Spain,Turkey or Yugoslavia,or maybe USA.
Bought this for my Sakura CS and my redcat receiver doesnt get drive/brake. It only works of its backwards with servo in ch2 or drive/brake in ch1.
These have bad quality control. Kinda gamble if it works or not. Could it be that the caps are bad quality/low capacity..
I have to same one and it keeps cutting out and will only work if I drive very slow 🐌 any one know how to fix it
What battery are you using? The ESC has an internal voltage protection to save itself if the battery is too powerful
Its a 2s lipo

Is there a forward reverse delay mate
Thanks for this video! How to do you bind this ESC to a transmitter? I didn't see this covered here. I'm using it with a Spektrum DX5C.
I'm not convinced that this is an ESC/receiver combo. I think you still need to provide a radio receiver.

How do you go about programming this ESC?
Ordered one today for my TT-02 with a HPI 15t motor - excited to test it out, but I hope they have fixed the braking.
That's where I initially used it too with the same 15T setup

From my understanding there is a lipo low voltage alarm built into the ESC, has anyone found this? Is there a way to set the low voltage level etc
It has a built in LiPo cut off yes. Switch the jumper plug on it to LiPo mode
Can u use any RTR transmitter?
I installed mine and it reverses really slow and it takes 1 to 2 seconds to start reversing.
Is this ESC has drag brake feature for rock crawling?
Yes
Does it work for a boat?
Mine keeps going into limp mode.. common prob with these apparently
Support 12,6volt ?
Get the 1080 for the CC-01.
That's what im running already
What. Crawler benefits from lipos just cause they're lighter, let alone more powerful and generally last longer. Oh and lipos are cheaper then NiMH
Is that the new 1060 version with 3amps bec?
I'm not sure. It's whatever version that was in production at the time of the video

Chinese company i am pretty sure.
It's made in china, ive bought a couple of the brushless ones.

Will that work on an 8 turn motor ?
The motor limit for 2s is 12turn and for 3s is 18 turn although i would not advice you to use 3s on a brushed motor.
