Great video sir well done well explained I got one of these on my RC car since I installed it it’s like I’m driving the car with no brakes on or really weak brakes is there any programming I can do to this ESC
Not as far as I know. Is your throttle trim set to neutral when you turn it on? The esc self-calibrates every time it's turned on, ensure trim is neutral and if your radio has an ABS function, turn it off.
I love it easy if my ESC break on the Trail i can change fast the ESC and drive away .With 1080 i need to programming the ground functions difficult outdoor deep in the forest.
The 1060 was my go-to for several years but I have pivoted to the 1080 for my touring cars. It has a little more power and is easily programmed from crawler centric to cars. It’s super noice.

Wow great video you explain it great. I got one of those And I’m not sure if it’s normal I have the pins on forward brake reverse when I am accelerating I want to come to a stop the car keeps rolling I have to double tap my transmitter for it to fully stop is that normal ?
That doesn't sound right, you shouldn't have to double tap to stop. Hmmm, tough to say why it's doing that. Maybe try and set the jumper to the other option and see what it does? Or even take the jumper off entirely, power it up and see what it does?
@@bonbonesrc3968 withe the jumper out, it's in crawler mode. drag brake, not super strong, but works great for light weight crawlers. try reversing your throttle on your radio, if you can. then swap the motor leads. might just have the motor hooked up backwards. brake when reversing?

Just fitted one of these in my new Cross-RC AT4V crawler. Someone commented that I am fitting sub-standard electronics by using such a cheap (16 GBP) ESC. Yes, I know the 1080 is programmable but the 1060 just connects up and off you go. Would you have used the 1060 or 1080 in such a truck?
I've run both the 1060 and 1080 in my crawlers and while I do prefer the 1080 (greater tunability, smoother throttle response), I'd say the 1060 is still a fair choice, especially for someone on a budget.
@@poorboysrc I have a 1080 in my PG4A but decided to go with a 1060 in the AT4V just to get up and running quickly and because I had to buy quite a lot of other parts. By the time you have bought the transmitter, ESC, steering servo, gearshift servo, 2 diff-lock servos, battery, paints, etc, all the ancillary parts add up to quite a lot of money. I know you swap out your connectors and I'm sure if you have a hobby shop locally you can pick up whatever you want easily but I do not have a RC shop within 100km and have to order everything online. Just getting a different connector takes at least a month to arrive so it is a logistical challenge whenever I'm building a new kit!
@@BlackSeaRC yeah it's incredible how quickly it can all add up. That's one of the reasons I'm always searching for good quality gear at a good price. Hobbywing esc's are at the top of that list. 👌

The nimh/lipo jumper isn't the issue in this case. In fact, all that little jumper does is it sets a voltage cutoff when lipo is selected. This prevents you from over discharging your lipo. When in nimh mode, the voltage cutoff is removed, allowing you to fully drain your nimh pack. The other benefit of this esc is that it self calibrates. @@kanenstuff and just to be sure, you're plugging the esc into the receiver the correct way? The black wire of the esc should be facing the near edge of the receiver. Like in this pic: images.app.goo.gl/Xd3VV13rT6dTpb5e9
@poorboysrc yeah for sure I use the Spektrum DX5 Rugged and SR215 receiver. For my nitro buggies these recievers awork a charm and always get power but for the Tamiya I can't even get power to the reciever. I read the instructions and set the throttle end points and still it just flashes. Thanks for your help 👍
@@kanenstuff did it come with the Hobbywing esc? Or the Tamiya TBLE-02S?
How come nobody talks about the bec lead on this perdy important don't you think
BEC lead? Do you mean the plug for the receiver?
100% it is the best
You betcha! Much easier to program than the GoolRC! 🤣
Hi guys!
I am new in the RC world.
Is it possible to use this Esc with an old adspec Controller????
Thank you
I'm not sure, but I don't see why not. I've used this esc with a Traxxas controller from 1989, and it worked great. 👊🏼
How does this compare to the 1080?
1080 has many more programmable features and is really well suited for rock crawlers/scale rigs. The 1060 has fewer features, jumpers for programming and is really at home in a basher/weekend warrior rig. 👊
If I buy a 550 35t brushed motor with red and black connectors, i need toconnect those to the blue and yellow ones?
You got it! 👊🏼
@@poorboysrc ok thanks have a good day!
@@poorboysrcbut if i'd like to put a brushed 550 35t motor in my wpl c24 i need to get the 370motor gearing?
@@Markyx9642 that part I don't know. I'm unfamiliar with that platform.
@@poorboysrc thank you all the same
Does this have a hidden antenna?
No, there's no antenna in an esc, you're probably thinking of a receiver. 👍🏻
Why would it have an antenna?? 🤣
Help please, the brake force in this 60amp esc is almost non-existant, the manual says its 50% force. But its like almost nothing for me. Can the brake force be adjusted? Its in a fassst buggy but it barely stops the car.
That's very unusual, is it an authentic Hobbywing esc? Or one of those look-alike clones?
@@poorboysrc Hmmm now you've got me thinking. It came in that unmarked bubble wrap. I have one other brushless hobbywing combo in a mini-t which came in-box and is flawless. I have nothing to compare the brushed one to really.
@@christianrambissoon1141 I think we found your problem... I've been suckered into the $15 Hobbywing 1060 before (on ebay), it shows up and it's unbranded, but looks just like a HW1060. Throttle control is not good, brakes, meh... I bet you got a bad one, too man. On the bright side, they make a good door stopper, paper weight, or flying projectile for a sling shot! 😂
@@poorboysrc Throttle response is great actually, lol. All the modes work as per the jumper settings but the brakes in f/b/r mode, jeeeez. Really annoyed. Gotta spend double money now. And yes it was 20 bucks. Thanks for the assist!
@@christianrambissoon1141 glad I could help, man. Thanks for watching my show! 👊🏼
Can you run this esc with a 3s lipo
You sure can! 🍻
Why does mine not have steering????
No ESC controls steering, only forward/reverse/braking. The receiver is what controls your steering.
is it 3.7v or 7.4
7.4V 👊
Is the kyrc 60 based on this esc?
Not too sure pal.
Yes it is. The kyrc is junk compared to the 1060
Will it run in a trx4m 1/18
It could, but it might be a little big for that small chassis.
@@poorboysrcI’ll drag it behind in a trailer 😂😂😂
@@GeorgiaKayakAngler that would actually be pretty hilarious! 🤣
Will that work with an 8 turn motor? If not which lower price esc will work with an 8 turn ??
No 8T is too hot for this esc. You'll probably have to go to a higher end esc foe that kind of speed.👊
@@poorboysrc ok, thanks for answering. I'm looking for a budget brushed esc that can but I'm having a hard time finding it.
@@representing7372 I'll let you know if I come across one! 😎
@@poorboysrc awesome, thank you.
@@representing7372 any time bro! 👊
Whats a good brushless esc for the 903a 1/12
Hobbywing 10BL120, can't go wrong! 🍻
@@poorboysrc paired with what motor?
@@kendrickcontent all depends on how fast you want to go. 903a seems pretty rough and durable, I'd probably get something in the 4500kv range so it's plenty fast, but not insane.
@@poorboysrc im looking at a 3660 4200kv so idk how much faster that would be from the stock 3800kv. I dont know how to shop for motors and gears
@@kendrickcontent as a general rule of thumb: Over motor and under gear. Meaning, high gearing can create a lot of heat and cause problems. Keep the gearing stock for now and if you want more speed go for a higher kv motor. Hope that helps. 👊
I bought a "HobbyWing" 1060 on Ebay and it was junk! It did not come in the box, it did not have instructions, it did not have decals. In addition to that, it burned up in less than 20 seconds. I don't know if somebody is buying rejects or if they are clones, but they have to be bought from a reputable dealer or buyer beware. I got a real one and LOST a good 25% power off of a cheap RC buggy.
Sounds like it was probably a knock-off. I've seen them out there, even purchased a couple. 🍻
@@poorboysrc I said the first one I got was a dud and a clone. The other two I bought are from a dealer and are the genuine thing.
Insiders here in Sydney Australia tell me the factory based in Suzhou China manufactures the fakes. If purchased through Ebay, you can determine the location of the sender (factory direct).
