Here's the thing the 1060 are good value but you can't calibrate them. They claim to auto calibrate every time u turn them on but the fact is they don't. I tested multiple times on different ones. In fact the led lights on the unit let's you see when full throttle is achieved. Most were less than 70% throttle on trigger and showing solid red led which means full throttle. This is accurately tested by using the epa ( end point adjustment) an example one reached full power at 64% epa . When set to 63% the led blinked indicating not full throttle. Save epa at 63% and restart .. esc claims to calibrate but upon testing throttle at full trigger pull u can see blinking led indicating it's not full power. Adjust epa to 64 then it's full power. This is the way to ensure u get maximum use of proportional throttle but you would have to do the same for reverse. The thing is u would need to use a program card first to enable 100% reverse to be able set that. Also no way to set neutral point .. unless neutral is actually the only thing that is being auto calibrated in starting. If you spend more money on a hobby wing 1080 you have the ability to calibrate it correctly.
G’day Adam, nice review and really helpful. I’ve been tinkering around with RC cars for over thirty years off and on, it’s always good to hear a good review like this is, thank you very much. Love the program looking forward to the next one.
Nearly all our kits we use the Hobbywing 1060 esc, like you said great value and I've yet to have one fail! All ours come in a box, never seen them in bags over here in the UK. Last few i bought were £22.00 UK pounds.
Thanks for sharing. If I may ask a question. That three pin plug that connects to the receiver. Does it both send power to the receiver, and send a signal from the receiver to command the speed controller? All through just three wires?
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA thanks for replying 🙃 Just one thing I don't like is the voltage cut off thingo. Cuts out too early. Can you change the low voltage cut off on this ESC?
Nice review. I like the all black knock off version of this speed control when I’m restoring a retro car and I don’t have a period correct ESC. The all black one just sort of blends in and doesn’t bring attention to itself.
Hi, friend! can i install the hobbywing 1060 variator on a 1/18 or 1/16 car with a 370-380-390 motor? my fear is burning the engine, can it be installed without burning the engine?
Hi Adam, hi Everyone, I ordered one to replace the Tamiya TEU-105BK. Not because there is any basic issue with the TEU-105BK, but to run Lipos. (An additional Lipo buzzer menas additional space and cables). There are very cheap "gold" and "black" ones on ebay, but I spend a bit more for the "red" one, which I hpoe is actual Hobbywing.
Great video buddy well explained I got this ESC 1060 on one of my cars it’s like I’m driving with no brakes on the RC car is there any programming I could do on this ESC is it normal to have brakes well weak breaks?
Question....out of the box, mine is blinking a red light...esc is plugged into the throttle on receiver.....how do I factory reset or fix this issue ..no throttle, no steering, nothing happens...just a beep and red blinks on ESC....brand new
Possibly check your battery, check the jumper plugs on the esc are set for correct batter. Check on a different receiver/ radio. If all fails try returning it
Can these esc be used with a program card? Another question, is it normal for the cars steering/servo to stop working as the battery starts to get low?
i tried to run a 550 motor and it keep stopping normal motor works great u do sometimes have to install the cap pack module for it to run ok in some cars i dont like the switch because u cant put it where ever u like so i cut off rhe switch at the end and i install a jst plug and use a normal switch for the tamiya with a female end to it so a tamiya car will have the switch where it should be normally
Hi Adam. Thanks for all the videos. Have you run a gt tuned on 3s lipo with one of these. I’ve just got a bigwig that I want to speed up a little and not sure wether to go faster motor or higher voltage. Are there any longevity problems with high voltage on brushed 540’s. Cheers 👍🏼
3s will probably fry a 540! I run my Bigwig with a Hobbywing and 2s Lipo. Definitely given it an extra bit of power. But to be honest the GT motor isn’t a fast one. Probably look into a better motor and 2s Lipo
@rc action Australia I have a Tamiya Sports tuned motor (23T) and I also have a hobbywing QUICRUN 1060 ESC … is the 1060 compatible with this motor ??? I’m gonna chick it on my DT 03 Tamiya neon fighter. Or am I better off buying the Tamiya TBLE-04S Electronic Speed Controller which I know is compatible ✅
Thanks for that cool little video. Nice to see something a little different than a box art kit build. Not sure if you are aware that the switch is designed to clip on to the side of the ESC. Save on having to stick it down. It slots in the little half V on the side.
I run Mini 1/12 and use a 4 cell nimh (4.8v), the specs say 5-9 cells but I have sen these work on 4 cell nimh - any experience with this at all anyone?
These ESC's are crap! These ESC's are great! Quality control is somewhat bad. I have few of these and i have mixed feelings about 1060. Some work great even with 15T motor and some doesn't work with a silver can 27T. Cap add fixes this (for now) but we'll see.
Never had an issue with Any to date. But I’ve blown out a $200 LRP esc! I guess it’s like anything some products can be Faulty. I’ve heard a lot of fake 1060’s have issues and some ppl actually resell fake items in the original boxes.
The so called knock off ones i bought dont claim to be hobby wing .. they look exactly the same cost half the price and work exactly the same. Probably made in the dame factory. Never had one fail. Also have a genuine one too
Core rc Schumacher is still popping out brushed motors. For how much long no idea. .. for my Schumacher cat xls masami i got a 20 turn vore rc motor to put in it..
G'day, Adam. Great tip with fitting the esc into a fake servo. Thanks, mate.

They are Definitely an Awesome value ESC.
Excellent illustrations for esc rc hobbywing top electronic rc💪👍👍👍😀

Yes 😎👍🏻
My local hobby shop had som sale so i got 3 Hobbywing 1060 and a bunch of Tamiya PS-paint for my "winter-projects". It´s a great ESC for the money.
Yep Totally agree, great product for the price 😎👌🏻
Good info. Im looking to update my RC10 T3 with Trinity brushed motor to 2s lipo and want a reciever with reverse due to mine got wet😅
Even tho it's not rated to be used with s 20 volt battery, do u think I could use it with a 20 volt drill battery?
Not sure, I guess you could take the risk. It’s 3s compatible.
Hey, i was wondering what transmitters will work with this esc.
Should work with any
Hi, just wanted to ask how you go about programming this ESC?
You program it manually on the esc, and if you have a remote that can program throttle response etc
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA thanks for replying 🙃
Just one thing I don't like is the voltage cut off thingo. Cuts out too early. Can you change the low voltage cut off on this ESC?

It’s recommended for 540 & 550 motors
I run a Hobbywing 1080 in my Axial Scx10 ii and love it. Might have to get a 1060 to try on my car.
I highly recommend the 1060 😎👌🏻
The 1080 is a lot better. The 1060 is good for price but 1080 has correct calibration and frequency adjustment and other useful features
👍 Top vid
Thank you 😎👍🏻 A quick spur of the moment Video with little Planning 😆
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA Good enough for me 😉👍

Yes they are a great ESC with build in Lipo functionality
Hay mate would you recommend this esc for the Tamiya bz and the tz rz motors and sport tuned motor
Definitely, this is the ESC I run with the above motors. Much better than the Tamiya ESC especially if you run Lipo Batteries.
Great video buddy well explained I got this ESC 1060 on one of my cars it’s like I’m driving with no brakes on the RC car is there any programming I could do on this ESC is it normal to have brakes well weak breaks?
You can change the little jumper plug around on it. It’s definitely not going to be the best esc but good bank for buck
Thanks for the quick response I played with the jumpers and the results are not the greatest thanks anyways you’re great
Question....out of the box, mine is blinking a red light...esc is plugged into the throttle on receiver.....how do I factory reset or fix this issue ..no throttle, no steering, nothing happens...just a beep and red blinks on ESC....brand new
Possibly check your battery, check the jumper plugs on the esc are set for correct batter. Check on a different receiver/ radio. If all fails try returning it
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA fyi...it was the receiver...had to rebind it 3 times to the radio... everything works fine now
Perfect
Can these esc be used with a program card? Another question, is it normal for the cars steering/servo to stop working as the battery starts to get low?
No programming required on these. Yes low voltage can cause issues
Great video Adam 👌
I love the idea of hiding it in the servo box!.
Thanks for sharing your interesting video 👍🦘🇦🇺
Yeah they are definitely a nice small item for hiding 😎👌🏻
Is that RC Mart i Malaysia they have a great range but its mainly a wholesaler.
i tried to run a 550 motor and it keep stopping normal motor works great

Yep Switch can be alittle limiting. Never tried a 550 motor.

Thanks Adam. I’ll try a 2s lipo and maybe buy a more modern buggy (Avante or Super Astute) to run a faster set-up. It is nearly Christmas after all 😉
Just got this esc, on the yellow and blue wires which is hot or red equivalent?
Blue is black (Negative)
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA thank you for answering
Great video, going to put one in my lunch box, I see you can get a program box, card will it work with this esc 👍🏻

The 1060 is far superior than the o4s

Yep I like that Feature on the ESC. But on some applications the short switch lead can be a pain!
I run Mini 1/12 and use a 4 cell nimh (4.8v), the specs say 5-9 cells but I have sen these work on 4 cell nimh - any experience with this at all anyone?
I only run these in my car's now.
Yep , great bang for buck
I still would like to purchase that king Blackfoot let me know when you get tired of it thank you please comment back
