I think John just found the perfect sound for the songs and Josh didn't want to copy that, that's why he usually tries to make his own sound, but when its already perfect it's really fucking hard to compete

josh and John are both huge influences and inspirations to me. I love John's dreamy feel and luscious tone but I also love Josh's harsh tone and spontaneous playing combined with the energy that he brings to live performances. they are both unmatchable
They’re both great in their own ways..Josh is technical, analytic and non obtrusive whereas John is about the feeling and explosiveness John’s technique is nothing to play with either however he has the right chemistry with the rest of the band and it translates song after song
Madden he still is technical I don’t think he had forgotten what he knew 30 years ago when he plays every single day. He just keeps changing his style experimenting and we are ok with that.. I think 80s john was still more technical than josh even 30 years ago. It may be that I just prefer johns style of playing

Never was a fan of Klinghoffer… you can top what Frusciante has brought and carried out through his years with RHCP… He’s a major inspiration and badass!
John's live tone has more cojones and John really is like Flea but on guitar, monstrous stream of playing, with very mystique impulses. Josh is a very exciting player I can really move my body to, with Josh, he doesn't always incite Flea in the way Flea really perks up with John's solos. But the Klinghoffer sound is so cascading, it's highly distinguished, and has always inspired me, from the bicycle thief days, and into his live sound as well. John's live sound is taylored to the chili peppers with lots of deliberation, he crafted a rig with a massive sound and Josh didn't take on much of that. And John is quick in the way Johnny Ramone is quick. Josh is a little more contemplating of his next move. But for both an original writer on those records, and as a tenured and enduring live guitarist, they could not have done better with anyone other than Josh. Plain and simple. Josh does lose out on a lot of the Vigour of John's 2000s era, John cuts through the mix like a sushi chef prepping a tuna fish
John pain emotional raw soul comes out in his axe The man is incredible Jaw dropping, the improvising the loops the scales he is just on a totally different level and league.
Ok here it is John, Josh and even Dave Navarro are all amazing guitarists. However John is the best in RHCP. They just work together in the best possible way and always will. 🤟

Yep josh has a super washed out sound that gets lost in the mix. Now John is the opposite, sooo clear. Even with a fuzzrite or a muff into a Marshall. Still completely clear and exactly where it needs to be. You’d think being friends with John you’d be like “ yo dude how the fuck do you get it the clear ??” I always wondered why josh was ok with being half lost in the mix

@@paulfarmer1605 never said any song sucks, go robot, dance maggie etc are all fun tunes... Songs with John are just way more powerful, have that raw emotion and true meaning, it can be heard and recognized. Rain dance maggie is a childrens birthday party song. Not saying its bad either.
Also, how am i being immature lol, you refused to listen to music cause of some stories about relations in the band. Cmon son, its music, enjoy it for the way it sounds and speaks to you.
