for some reason this band is listed pretty low, RUclips literally dragged me across every track for years before dropping me here, giving me finally that pleasure of listening to heaven.
I played bass in a Tom Petty tribute for 9 years, and Learning To Fly was one of the regular songs on our setlist. I must have played it several hundred times in my 9 years with the band. While I'm partial to the way we did it, LLB does it very well indeed.
One of the all-time great songs by an all-time great artist, and your band honors this greatness via true dedication and peerless musicianship tastefully rendered. I have worked in a lab, so I understand that part of your band's name. It's about employing standards, among other things. You have that one down.
I'll catch Hell from everyone, but I never could get into Tom Petty before this song and "Scare Easy". But he brought many people joy and may God rest him.
Was in a band in 1967 that had a Fireglo 12 Rickenbacker. Still in love with the sound thank you George Harrison, Roger McGuinn and Tom Petty (RIP) for bringing it back Still Love you guys. I'm still trying to catch up, getting there. Your fan, Doug from Green Bay, WI
I so love your rendition of this record Tom would say why I should of let you play as my band. But this is just one of my favorite songs from him and I can't get enough of it no matter who covers it it all sounds good you got it down pack so I'm I'm going to listen to till the video player breaks. Or RUclips bans me from watching. Great love for tom petty rip.
Where’s that wood slap sound in the chorus that goes “bap bap bap bap…..bap” after each vocal phrase?! I love that part but you guys nailed it and his vocals are perfect for a Petty cover
Well, this is the first LLB video that I thought hasn't been dead-on (or nearly so). I mean, it's very nicely done, but there's probably noone who can duplicate Tom's voice.
You’re missing the point of a cover. The goal is never to sound exactly like the original singer because it’s not possible - the voice is the only personally unique instrument out there.
This should have at least a million views ....so great...

I found you guys about an hour ago. I'm about 10 videos in so far and every cover has been impeccable. Amazing!
LLB does such incredible covers! I'd love to hear something by Wishbone Ash, especially "Argus".
ANYTHING from Argus! Hell yes! I've loved Ash since the early '70's!
Nailed it. Tom would be proud!
God that was awesome! Thanks for remembering Tom with such care!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
BRILLIANT!!

Would love to see you guys do Petty's "Don't Come around here no more". Can you find a sitar player?
There Aint nothing like Rickenbacker 360 12. And Cherry Burst too!!!!
Couldn't quite make out the bass that James was playing. Was that a Fender Precision?
We believe it was his G&L
It's a Suhr for sure! :)
I need a t-shirt
Free fallin'!! please? that and "it's good to be king"
I read somewhere, rick nelson told his sons “learn to write songs, anyone can learn to play the instruments”
If so he was one smart dude!
The drums were wrong all the way through, this from a band which I always admire the authenticity to the original recordings.

Thanks for the feedback

Mike should have been on vocals, great cover as always though.
