Absolutely amazing musicians....thank you for sharing these amazing people....after 61 yrs of loving its very powerful to hear such professional musicians Nail this Tune.....right on everyone....iam following you!!! 👊
Covering a BOSTON song is a formidable task. Nailing FOREPLAY/LONG TIME is extremely ambitious. The vocals honor Brad, huge shoes to fill. Everything is where it should be. If only for a moment everything is right in the universe. Well done.
You never hear bands cover Boston's songs, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this one! Brad Delp was an amazing vocalist; I always thought of Boston as a duet with his voice and Tom Scholz' guitar! Kudos!
You have to admire the balls of anyone trying ti cover Boston, because it’s either going to go very well or very badly. You guys aced it. Tom spent a year laying down tracks. And it’s not easy to measure up to Brad Delp. As a lifelong fan of Boston, you guys nailed it. Just phenomenal.
Absolutely fantastic! So much talent in all of you, and obviously having a blast doing what you're doing! I smiled from start to finish. Your Foreigner cover of 'Waiting for a girl like you' brought me here.
OMG thank you all so much!!!!!!! Every one of you NAILED IT!!!!!! From the guitar sound of tom schultz to the background harmonies, I have never enjoyed a cover of Boston so much. And thats coming from a rock guitarist who played a lot of big clubs in the 80s. Brad Delp is no easy cover and the drums were flawless, the keys were perfect! You all really did it justice. 3 times through and I'm getting teary-eyed.👍 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm going to say something that needs explaining, you do my friend's Brad and Sibby, very proud!! I was blessed to call both of them dear friends, as well as Fran Sheehan, and Barry Goudreau, I was blown away by your dedication to recreating that signature Sholz power soak sound, and the vocals were fantastic! I am very finicky about Boston covers, especially since Brad and Sibby were more family than friends to me!! I'm overjoyed, as I'm sure Sibs wife Suzanne would be, that you are keeping their music relevant on such a quality level! Kudos from Massachusetts!! ❤️👍
I’ve gotta say it’s probably one of the best I’ve ever seen besides the real thing! I’ve spent many years behind stage watching the real deal or front row yes Barry is my uncle and I’m sure he would be very impressed by this version to.
Brilliant to have the female singers. The original is Brad Delp doing all background/harmony parts I believe with the ability to get wayyyy up there. This was the perfect way to cover those parts.
Man, i don't know how advanced in age you are but,, if you like, CHICAGO, go to Leonid & friends. They are Great Russian, cover band. Man, they nailed it. Keeping great, music great!!!
Just listened to the first ten year interview where this song was mentioned and I had to come back!!! So many awesome parts, but Austin was SO YOUNG HERE!!!! Hoping Amanda Carter will come back, at least for the live!!!
I can hardly believe what i just saw. Except for the power of Delps voice (which this cat made his own) .... this is an incredible performance. My God, that drummer! The keyboards. Unbelievalbe. Tom must be very happy
I wish I could go back in time to the moment when I was an LLB "virgin" and had never heard you guys before. I'd would give my right arm (and I am a guitarist) to see my own face when I heard this and other covers from you guys ... The rush I got, the amazing, astonished look I must have had after discovering each rendition of so many hits from the best groups on this planet ... I remember staying up almost until dawn ... I just wanted to see how far you guys could reach and; far you went, LLB!! Even though I know the incredibly detailed transcriptions involved, I can't help but to admire how easy you guys make each performance look. Only master musicians can pull these feats ... I love you, LLB! ❤❤❤
Dear God, I'm glad I'm not driving right now. Why? Because, once again, the Tears of Joy are blinding me. Legendary cover. Great Love and Respect for the band. 👍👍❤️❤️🎶🎶🎤🎤🥁🥁🎸🎸
I feel so lucky to have grown up in 1950s/60s/70s when so much great music was created - and now we have proper musicians like these guys playing that music for us and doing it brilliantly.
So Boston was my favourite rock band of the 70’s .. Nobody can ever replace the late Brad Delp .. but this group is amazing ! Shame on the 13 negative voters on this
I have been a professional musician for almost 40 years and I can tell you, this is a very hard song to pull off, these guys nail it perfectly!!! Awesome musicians!!!
I just discovered this channel yesterday, and I am just slackjawed by every performance. This collective of musicians is a study in mastering your craft. Wow, just WOW. ❤❤❤
Fun fact: Brad Delp was the only guy you sing on the albums. He did all the different vocal tracks. When you stop and listen to the vocals, you'll realize just how phenomenal he really was. RIP Brad.
I love the Boston sound SO MUCH. And I miss it so much also. Over 40 years later this still brings tears of joy to my eyes. It's so good and brings back so many good memories.
I’ve always said that if I was ever limited to only one album to keep for the rest of my life it would be a tossup between Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours or Boston’s eponymous album.
The first rock album I ever owned. Boston self titled. The significance of Boston and these songs cannot be over exaggerated. They are so significant and own a place in musical history. The Lexington Lab band plays homage to Boston in the best possible manner. Excellence and joy is etched on their faces.
I am 64 years old. I have seen Boston live 8 times, usually front row seats, or right below the mixing board. I haven't been to a concert to see them since Brad left us. I listen to Boston through a vintage 1974 Marantz receiver, usually on a very nice turntable, through vintage Klipsch Cornwalls, in my music room, with my eyes closed. In other words, I listen. not just hear, I listen. You guys are the closest, musically, to them as any band I have ever heard. I can close my eyes and very briefly get taken back to those magic years. Keep after it, you guys are worthy of the music.
Dude...OUTSTANDING! I've been listening to that album and that song for almost 45 years and it NEVER gets old. Your cover of that is , by far, the best I've ever heard. The 68 people who thumbs downed this video should have there anus sewn shut.
WOW! Back in 1976, I met my first love Heidi. I met her at a party and danced with her to this song. It became “our song”. You guys play this song so well, that when I listen to it with my Bose headphones, you sound just as good, if not better than Boston themselves! Thank you for bringing back such fond memories of the times I spent with my first love, Heidi! Now … I’m gonna put on my Bose headphones, kick back, and, “Close my eyes and slip away”! Keep up the great work! God Bless! 😎🇺🇸
I can't believe 137 people have given this a thumbs down......maybe they were expecting Beethoven not Boston..😂🤣 BTW I was in Boston the past 2 days at the Wang Theatre. This beautiful theatre was built in 1923, almost ready to celebrate 100 years! It holds 3500 people and is on the National Register of Historical Places. We did 3 shows and all were pretty much sold out! LLB would absolutely rock this joint! Btw, average ticket was $100. Uh, that's $350,000 per show! You guys are this good!!!!!!! Off to Tysons, VA next to the fairly new Capital One Hall.
This is the cover that brought me to your band. My favorite song by Boston who is probably my favorite band. And you freaking nailed it! This group is absolutely amazing!
After watching y'alls' interview video yesterday, I just had to come back and watch this one again. Although most all of your stuff is amazing really, this is one that just gives me goosebumps! It's not an easy song by any stretch, but when a group of truly blessed musicians gets together on a performance of one they truly all love, magic happens. God love ya all and here's to another 10 years! - Ed on the Ridge
Sib is looking down from heaven with his big afro and is clapping right along to this masterpiece like a proud father. Brad is looking down rockin his old Les Paul Jr and is in awe with this vocal performance. And Tom is calling his attorney because this cover is too perfect :)
The talent is off the hook. Come on, how many years to be this good? 20k? Come on man, who is this talented other than Tom himself? Okay, these people are. Damn. I love music.
Every time I listen to your band I am BLOWN AWAY !!! I have listened to this song 100 times (one of my all time fav's), and every time I am amazed at how well you replicate the sound !!!!!!! (I used to have a Hammond B-3, but I didn't have the talent) You have captured the heart of the rock era, with the time of REAL BANDS - REAL TALENT - no synthesis - no computers - just raw instrumental and vocal talent, the way God intended !!! I listen to you guys every week, and EVERY song is equal and most often BETTER than the original !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could attend a live concert !!!!
Keyboardist Austin is a talent that only comes around ONCE IN A LIFETIME! He is a giant on this track, and I have to also say the whole band did an incredible job here, cracking lead and backing vocals, guitarists and drumming are world class, and of course AUSTIN!!!! The immortal Brad Delp is definitely smiling up there in heaven 😔😔😘.
Woke up at 4:00AM, started for the coffee, popped on the headphones, hit RUclips & this started playing. It's simply an amazing cover in every way, & definitely, a must when it comes to sharing. Thank you for starting my day with this one. 🎶💜🎶
This and Hitch a Ride are both upper deck grand slams! Wow. You're ALL so good that I hate to mention an individual, but guess I'm going to. That keyboardist (Austin Vitucci?) is off. the. charts. The ladies coming in at 3:30 is auditory bliss also. Congratulations, LLB!
Just absolutely outstanding, I think one of your best, I too just watched the ten year interview and had to come back and enjoy again. Fantastic! Can't get enough.
Not only is this awesome, but it's a great tribute to the original. I have an 8 minute mini crush on the blonde backup singer in the middle. Great musicianship people. This isn't an easy one to cover.
I think this is my first YT comment. Words can't describe how much I like covers, nor how obsessed I've been with Boston since my teenage years (I was eight when this album came out in 1976). I've created fairly extensive cover playlists on Spotify, and recently here on YT (and LLB is all over it, of course). All of this, to say that without a doubt, this is the best Boston cover I've ever heard, and probably the best cover of any song I've ever heard (but I'm obviously biased). I wish I could swing a trip to KY to see LLB live on 9/1, but sadly that'd be difficult to pull off. I think I'll go buy some merch in the meanwhile. Also, closing thought...there are obviously many Boston fans in here like myself. Please also watch the Rachel Flowers "collab cover" of Foreplay / Smokin' as it is also spectacular.
OH... MY... GOSH..... Have I been under a rock the last 3 years? This came up in my suggestions just now. Boston, one of my all time favs, and one of their best ever songs. Was not expecting ANYTHING even close to this. You brought tears to my eyes. That keyboardist! Then the drums and guitars! For a moment I wondered if you had a backing track because the sound was just too close. Fantastic vocals. The harmonization and stupendous clapping from the backing vocalists was so spot on. Thanks for making my day!

I buy my guitars from Sweetwater also! Outstanding job on this classic!
my VOA recording gear is from Sweetwater too!
I had guitar strings installed at sweetwater, I also purchased a beginner bass guitar kit and a beginner guitar kit for my daughter from sweetwater
I have purchased from them also!
@@Texanrider76465 It's a Les Paul convention here. LOL
No special lighting, no stupid camera angles, no stupid effects just rock solid music...the best cover of this song I've ever heard.
Exactly right!!!
It's the best cover of ANY song I've ever heard ;-)
They are spectacular, without question.

To think one man created this in his basement nearly 50 years ago! Amazing!
And this fantastic band n singers are singing and playing it every bit as great as Boston did💯per cent fabulous

I agree to you all.
Absolutely fantastic! So much talent in all of you, and obviously having a blast doing what you're doing! I smiled from start to finish. Your Foreigner cover of 'Waiting for a girl like you' brought me here.

Best Boston cover I’ve ever heard.
Holy friggen MOLY! You don't "cover" Boston....You ARE Boston! That's undisputably the best Boston evah!👍🏻🔥🔥🔥
I have watched and enjoyed this immensely HUNDREDS of times !!! I think it is their best rendition !!!!!!!!!!!

loved it
Brilliant to have the female singers. The original is Brad Delp doing all background/harmony parts I believe with the ability to get wayyyy up there. This was the perfect way to cover those parts.
Absolutely. Being beautiful doesn't hurt any!
Drummers like that don't come along every day!
If somebody would've asked me yesterday, I would've said nobody could ever do a cover that does justice to this song. Can't say that today. Wow!
Boston’s first album is one of the top albums of all time IMHO
without a doubt
It sounded different, and fantastic! Still does. Saw their tour. They played their album and it sounded like the album.
Wow!!! Never thought it possible anyone else could do this song justice. I was wrong. Nicely done!!!!
Well stated. I couldn't agree more.
Man, i don't know how advanced in age you are but,, if you like, CHICAGO, go to Leonid & friends. They are Great Russian, cover band. Man, they nailed it. Keeping great, music great!!!
These guys are good they nailed it.
Respectfully, check out the Jay Sekulow Band. Maybe they could do some jammin
@@andywebb2778 I heard their rendition of that song and Jays band does an equally good job
covering Brad Delp like a BOSS. Kudos to the entire band. This is terrific.
I wish RUclips would support giving a double thumbs up rating! Sometimes “One” just doesn’t seem adequate!😊
Back in the 70' s I saw Boston twice and never would dream anyone could do a cover of them. Great job guys
How the hell can this have 139 dislikes?!!!!!! You guys ROCK!!!!
How can you see the total dislikes? I thought the anti-free speech democrats at Google sabatoged that years ago.
Just came back to see Tom Leszega once again.
Immensely saddened and left in a state of disbelief to hear about his passing.
I am the same. His guitar work in this track alone is sublime.
Just gutted to hear that he died. Was it an accident or an illness?
The dude on keyboards is killing it!
That’s what I thought!
He’s doing ok😜
You’ve got that right!!!! 👊🏼
Dude... they all are killing it!
The backup female vocals are the perfect addition to the original

Thanks ya all. And thanks for the singers for honoring Brad!
I still say that this is your Crown Jewel y'all. The BEST you've ever done.
The only thing missing is the crowd of fans. This is a concert grade performance, and I'd be the first one to buy tickets.
The "Wall of Sound" that Tom Scholz strived to create and produced, is evident in this masterpiece of a cover!! Absolutely Stunning!!!
who else comes back to jam these LLB clips easily as often as the originals....?
I wish I could go back in time to the moment when I was an LLB "virgin" and had never heard you guys before. Don’t worry about the 13 thumbs down. I got a thousand thumbs down when I posted my version of Barbie Girl on RUclips.

OH... MY...
Anyone who can sing a Delp song this good, can fucking sing! Amazing cover. They're all incredible to be sure.
Language PLEASE!!!!!!!!! I agree with you but please be civil, These folks are Christian People!!!!
