How many of you fine folks have had Nintendo music ingrained in your heads since childhood? Sometimes songs will play in my head outta nowhere. Especially when bored at work or something. Donkey Kong Country, Mario Party, Mario Bros, Pokemon? So many good choices!🌟
if only there was an application on my smart device that allows for companies and individuals to upload their music onto said platform while supporting revolutionary features such as playlists and a loop and shuffle function. Thank you Nintendo for this completely necessary and unique product.
They will be able to distribute more royalties to the composers through their own app rather than having to let Spotify get a cut of it first. Do you want to support the composers and musicians you love or not?
How have you managed to make a music service and then leave out the most basic feature of telling us who the composer is litterally every other music app has this just credit the people who wrote the godamn music
@@maccamachineYou ever had your project put in front of millions of people only to get no mention of credit despite being the one that made it? That’s what I thought.
Gee, what a great idea! Surely with such a large library available to them, Nintendo won't feel the inexplicable need to drip feed a single soundtrack a week!
*Calypso:* Your wish is granted... but you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription! Mwahaha! I am Calypso, and I thank you for playing Twisted Metal!
Unironically has a bunch of useful features, the spoiler prevention, character/scenario/mood playlists all feel like they'd actually be pretty fun to play around with. And cool that this is included with active Nintendo online memberships, but... I am very afraid for any Nintendo music that are available on other platforms, Nintendo is already notorious for aggressively sending copyright claim and strikes, at this point it's gonna be real difficult to find any Nintendo songs on RUclips or other places
Agreed, I love the features they have in mind for users. As long as the app is designed as more of a bonus form of convenience and not as an excuse to copyright every OST channel in existence (which it likely is unfortunately), then I will be happy.
Only stuff left will be the visualizers From the Official Music Tracks channel. They could be spared since it is not only uploads of the audio by itself
Sorry if this looks like I'm arguing against your point (a good point btw), but I'd say Nintendo is more inconsistent with strikes and whatnot than "notorious." Many uploads on other platforms like you mentioned have NOT BEEN TAKEN DOWN FOR *YEARS* and are still available on places like RUclips. Even when Nintendo was doing takedowns, not every example was taken down. Honestly, Nintendo would be fairer if they *always* took stuff down instead of deciding when to do it or which ones to take down. I also suppose there's something shady about RUclips that causes Nintendo to act that way, but that's just a guess.
Okay but the fact that they decided to split the Splatoon musics' credits among the fictional artists instead of dumping them all under the 'Splatoon' umbrella is honestly cool
The service will cost $39.99 a month and have a feature that detects if someone else is within ear shot of the music who isnt a paying member, shut off and send the owner a cease and desist

They should really drop this and just upload their music on regular streaming platforms. I really don’t see how anyone is going to be switching to just Nintendo music. Plus their music officially on other platforms would spread it exponentially to people
To show just how little they actually care about their artists, literally no one is credited. Meanwhile you can listen *for free* on RUclips and the channels always credit the artists and game the song came from, when they aren't constantly copyright striked that is...
This app is kinda cool but it needs WAY more games. Like, they mostly only have Switch games and that’s it. Where are SNES/NES games like Super Punch Out & Ninja Gaiden? What about the other Pokémon games like Black and White? Not even Wii Sports or SM64? It’s missing so many good titles
Y'all really gonna make us download a whole new app just to get the official splatoon music instead of putting it on spotify or itunes with their own dedicated accounts for each band. Have you considered I want to listen to game music alongside my other music?
Just like the dropped the Xenoblade Chronicles X announcement randomly the other day. Someone who makes marketing decisions at Nintendo is going off the rails LOL. Just those two announcements alone would make a good Mini Direct.
I love it all!! BUT do we really have to keep restricting things to online members?! like wasn't buying the switch and it's accessories not enough!? or how about this, how about you make the app paid for say maybe 2-5 dollars, then NEVER PAY AGAIN rather than having online?
Or better yet, release the soundtracks online so that people can buy individual ones for a few bucks each, download them, and then never have to worry about going through Nintendo's apps for it again.
It's a great marketing gimmick tho. They want those high unit selling numbers. 😅 You buy a switch model plus NSO membership. 😅 It's not like other companies don't do this. 😅right?
Next Nintendo will produce a smart watch, a fast food restaurant all over the U.S., a calendar, a wireless vacuum that plays soundtracks from selected Nintendo games, a GPS, and a PC
Yeah, the lack of composer credits is a bit annoying; seems like Nintendo wants fans to associate its iconic soundtracks with the idea of "Nintendo sound", as opposed to the people who actually craft it to begin with
I hate it when Nintendo doesn't attribute the composers to the music. I love seeing which composer composed which track in the MK8 OST or the Kirby and the Forgotten Land OST for example. It's pretty interesting.
@Raymun8 Counterpoint: Tomoya Tomita (composer that worked with Good-Feel on Kirby's Epic Yarn, Wario Land: Shake it! and Yoshi's Woolly World) literally uploaded some of his music to his own YT channel.
Soundcloud quality isn't great though. You can find high quality rips for a lot of video game OSTs on the internet if you search around. And the soundcloud uploads might be deleted any time, whereas if you download the music yourself you won't ever have to worry about that
That's what they do and they are excellent at it. Dominic Arsenault was right: Sony and Microsoft are first-party publishers. Nintendo is a platform-party publisher. Every action Nintendo takes is to support their platform and nothing else. So for a music streaming service, that means Nintendo Switch Online + Nintendo Music online. It will promote the games Nintendo's management cares about and only promote the music by their developers and nothing else. If they don't feel the need to credit the composers/producers of game music (they want the fans to focus on Nintendo not the individuals who did the work), they won't do it.
You see this is actually a big brain move because I've never actually heard a nintendo song. Without this app I would just assume all nintendo games are infact silent.
The creation of this program is like if Nintendo tried beating their competition, not by making cracked games, but by making an anti-version of Microsoft called Microcock or whatever, and then allowing the two to distract themselves; a real long walk for a short glass of water I couldn't tell from this video, but it didn't seem like the program gave composer credits for who made what song, which does kinda disappoint
christopher good to have you back, And I could not agree more. I hope this is not a excuse for Nintendo to crack down on silva as well as other arangers
It's a really interesting idea, but I think I'm with pretty much everyone else here; I too would prefer if the music was just available on RUclips and other streaming services. I would love to get to add Nintendo OST stuff to my already existing playlist filled with other kinds of music.
@@MrToon-pk4ylcounterpoint, it’s not my fault, or anyone who doesn’t want to pay money for Nintendo Online’s fault, that I don’t want to pay to access something I’ve been able to access for free for over a decade.

Guess it's just "The Nintendo Way", they don't utilize (even appreciate) the value of third-party services until _after_ trying to provide it themselves, and being told by everyone "where have you been?" because third parties have been doing it better than them for years. I am very afraid for any Nintendo music that are available on other platforms, Nintendo is already notorious for aggressively sending copyright claim and strikes, at this point it's gonna be real difficult to find any Nintendo songs on RUclips or other places
the character playlists are literally just songs that feature or are references to that character 😭😭

Every year Nintendo one-ups itself with the biggest, cartoonishly evil idea to present the fans a giant middle finger. Incredible.
The creation of this program is like if Nintendo tried beating their competition, not by making cracked games, but by making an anti-version of Microsoft called Microcock or whatever, and then allowing the two to distract themselves; a real long walk for a short glass of water
