It already seemed fantastic after just a year or two of development... and now after working on it for 5 more years, the game is probably so big that even professional game players will have a hard time fitting the whole game in their heads. It's probably going to have a mind-blowing amount of detail. The latest info suggests it's like 3 times as big as Hollow Knight, and still growing.

For everyone wondering why this is taking so long to release, it takes a while to think of over 150 different versions of the primal aspid.

I'm fifteen tis came out when I was ten and I've been waiting this whole time-
I still remember to this day, when this video released, I saw the notification and I instantly came here to watch it. I still remember how I thought that it will release quickly after. This is a really good memory of mine. Now I just come back here every 2 years and see how time passes by, but the game still looks fresh
Obviously trailers aren't totally indicative of how far along a game is but given how this was made in engine and was already showing off a ton of new stuff It's legit wild it's not done yet.

I kinda like how this looks more colorful than the original.
I think it is because Hollow Knight was supposed to be dark, blue and everything, with blackness and greyness everywhere (apart from when our boy Grimm), befitting of the main protagonist, whereas Hornets story is more bright and cheerful and about exploring a new world.

@@jamessturrs8550 I'm sure there will be something along those lines. I would like there to be at least. But Team Cherry did say in the magazine article a few months ago that they focused less on platforming and more on combat than they did in Hollow Knight, if I recall correctly.
Team Cherry is the developer we don't deserve but gravely need in the gaming industry. Knowing them, this game is worth $60 but they'll probably sell it for $15 with free DLC. I'm a fan for life.
I hope they gonne sell it for 60€ and if they don't I'm gonne pay it anyway. They deserve it sooooooo much.

@@Oldstalk The main point I'm trying to get across is the fact that NINTENDO THEMSELVES are actively advertising the game, an Indie game btw. We all know that 9/10, anything that Nintendo advertises is guaranteed to be of high quality; and since Nintendo is a big named game company, this only helps spread the word & generate hype among more people than just Team Cherry advertising the game themselves w/out any help.

They really did announce it too early. And I started playing Hollow Knight way after most people, so the wait for you guys must be insane
The thing is, they had no choice. This was supposed to be a dlc for the first game, but expanded into a sequel. If they went silent, people would be wondering where the dlc was, so they kinda just had to announce it.

Ok how is this not out yet. This looks absolutely amazing already in the trailer and seems to already have so much content. Just imagine what they've done in these 5 years...
It’s official. Team Cherry is the best indie dev ever. After giving us one of the biggest and best metroidvanias ever for $15, that wasn’t enough so they gave us tons of free expansions and content. Now, they are already working on (and by the looks of it pretty deep into) a sequel to the game?
I thought I wouldn’t see a trailer for this until at least very late 2020. Amazing!

ALJustice0 Another awesome dev. I feel like Shovel Knight was a big part of indie games getting the attention they deserved, and it’s without question one of the best indie games ever. Also, like Team Cherry, Yacht Club gave us so much extra content
