Amazing, absolutely. BotW turned out to be my favorite game in the past 10 years at least. Exactly as amazing as the trailer, though? I disagree. This particular trailer hyped up a story that was barely present (12 memories in the base game that didn't even add up to 30 minutes in total), and what little story there was didn't really feel tied to the world as a whole. Even ignoring all the requisite plot beats you'd expect from a Zelda game (Link's origins/family, how he got the Master Sword, etc.), they threw in an entire "rusted Master Sword" mystery that wasn't even referenced in the game itself. @@gamerdog2781 I didn't. And even though he wants to "praise" botw-, that's not the way to do it. videogame has become a laughable term about gambling and other microtransactions, and buggy, boring and restricted gameplay, that only focuses on graphics and story. And you know what? I love nintendo for just releasing videogames. i love them for never sacrifycing anything for the sake or "art".
I only started playing Breath of the Wild in 2020, and this is still one of the best trailers for a game I have ever seen/heard. It's incredible. Coming back to it just 5 days before Tears of the Kingdom releases is magical.
Had to come back and see this again after putting 100 hours (so far) into Tears of The Kingdom. This trailer left me absolutely speechless back then and still leaves me speechless today. Man, I love the Zelda series so much.
5 years later and probably the greatest video game trailer of all time. Simply hits on such an emotional level and like all great stories, has a 3 act structure that emotes adventure, a sense of doom and despair, followed by hope. Truly amazing.
This trailer is, no joke, a masterpiece and a legend on its own. The music, the choice of footage they used, all of it perfectly strikes my heart every time and I come back to this trailer every time I'm feeling down... And it still makes my eyes tear up after almost two years. Congrats, Nintendo. You've made a true legend.
Was thinking the same thing. It's funny how it's just a trailer for the game itself. And while it's not a perfect game, the trailer makes me come back to the game over and over
Seriously. At 2:50 when the main Zelda theme finally kicks in, it just makes my heart swell. Nintendo really should have released this track as a standalone piece of music, it's worthy of that.
Best. Trailer. Ever. Shows scenes from nearly every part of the game without any spoilers and with a constant, but subtle climax in pictures, music, editing and emotions.

I’m at a point where I don’t really think of these two as separate games. Totk is a continuation more than a sequel. Imagine if they were one game back to back.
Scalebound looked much better graphically than this crappy Nintendogs Zelda game for kiddies. If you want real challenges and problem solving then you need to get your hands on a PS4. The Nintendogs Switch is for those who have just begun puberty. There are so many better and more mature rpgs on the market than this sad excuse of a Zelda game.

Ive never even heard of the zelda series until after 2017 and ppl were so hyped about it being such a great game or GOTY that I had to try it. Now here i am, an avid fan of the zelda lore and excitedly waiting for the next sequel
It's crazy to think how this insanely epic music was not used in-game but only for this trailer, making it so legendary. This music gives me so much goosebumps every time. I come back here to feel something in fact.
I know right… it just shows how much effort was put in this game… and it can honestly reflect on why it’s so good.. this may be my favourite game of all time..
Honestly I don't think it'll ever be quite the same. Using the same engine means the surprise factor is gone. It'll still be cool but I think that 2017 moment won't be matched. I'd love to be wrong though.
@John Doe True, but on the other hand, the new game seems to be darker and have more story aspects, so they have more areas to explore there. As long as the music matches the one from this trailer, it will be extraordinary.
Just watched the last nintendo direct, and i had to come back here. 5 years, 5 long years hace passed, and this game, it's concept, it's music, it's spirit, still brings an unmeasurable amount of joy to my heart This is truly a masterpiece

@Jake the Astronaut it really isnt as bad as people say lmao, to be fair, its extremely fun when playing with friends, but, since it lacks a proper single player mode, it feels lackluster when playing alone.
The best trailer in the history of video games. In just 4 minutes they are able to teach you the mechanics, premise, environment, climax, etc accompanied by a sick soundtrack. A Nintendo masterclass; sell what actually appears in the trailer, something that is greatly needed today.
I can't believe how under-rated the soundtrack is for a game as big as this, Just because there's no overworld theme doesn't mean there's no soundtrack, Get the CD or go online and find it and just listen to the soundtrack on some quality speakers or headphones, It is incredible, Even this trailer song is amazing.
@@firebal6129 Same dude, I got the 5 disc CD and the "bonus" song (the trailer theme) is probably the one I've listened to most and it never gets old, It just does everything right just like the game, I really can't wait to hear what the sequel's soundtrack is like.
The music in this game is sublime. Perfect for a game this size. I think they knew people would play for hours and if there was a constant stream of music it could become tiresome. I love the balance of ambient music with the sounds of nature and how they blend seamlessly. The whole soundtrack is artfully composed & arranged. It's just brilliant. A triumph, just like the game!!
On the topic of Zelda soundtracks, the one in Skyward Sword is awesome. The game isn't as good as this one, and is lacking in some areas that games before it had, but the soundtrack is great, with a bit more flair of "epic to be remembered for all time," the characters are engaging, and some of the mechanics it introduces (e.g.: timeshift stones) are really fun to play with. Definitely one of my favorite games.
The game is more than five years old and people including me still come back to this trailer because it is one of the best trailers of anything ever made. It's all in-game content (no misleading fake cinematics), the music is breathtaking and the amount of hype the editing generates is incomprehensible. This game will never be forgotten.
@@homebrewGT2 yeah. I think my greatest criticism of Breath of the Wild is probably that I thought the story would be far more engaging due to the trailer. Hopefully Tears of the Kingdom has more story-centric quests to really build emotional connection to the quest.

The day this came out I picked up my Switch and this game from the store after work, then I went to the hospital and picked up my wife who was severely mentally ill at the time. I wanted her at home because the next day was my birthday, and she was the one who convinced me to open the Switch and enjoy this game instead of selling it all on ebay like I had planned. She had good days and bad days and was in and out of the hospital for several months before she was significantly better, one of the hardest times of my life and our life together. I love the official soundtrack so much. This track in particular without video compression is absolutely incredible.
