I actually do like it. Slow me down a bit (sorry speedrunners, I know.) I just feel it does add legitimately to the artistic experience a little bit.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that in the start you are forced a little more to slow down and observe the world around you. Prime 1-3 did too. Metroid Prime should keep it, or make instant scans some sort of upgrade if they have to do it.

My dad was a massive metroid prime fan, that game is the reason me and my sister got a gamecube. This game series is one of the only games we actually played together and bonded over. I would always have to help him figure out puzzles and how to beat bosses.
He passed away in 2015 before dread and prime 4 showed up. I still miss him to this day, we sadly also never got a chance to play prime 3 before he passed because it was on the Wii and we were tight on cash.

I hear ya. I don't have a Switch, but something tells me that I will be having one sometime next year. I have also got to get myself that Mario Maker game that I have been hearing so much about because being able to create your own levels sounds like an absolute blast, and the Switch will soon have enough games that I am pretty sure I will love to make having one worth it😎

@@dawnhero6439 The "main" series is just called Metroid (Metroid, Metroid 2, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Dread).
The Prime games are a sub series that take place _inbetween_ the first and second mainline games. Hope that helps.
@@dawnhero6439 Theres the Sidecrolling Mainline ones. Metroid, Metrid 2: Return of Saumus, Metroid 3 (super) Metroid 4(fusion) and Metroid 5 (dread) THEN the Prime series which all happens between Metroid 1 and Super. 100% recommend playing SUper then Dread.

Federation Force is somewhat necessary to the Prime plot, and plus with Switch Online and actual pro controls it might be easier and more fun to play with friends than on the 3ds.
I'm not defending the game. I'm just saying a second life in switch wouldn't hurt anyone. Especially if it was a modest $20-30. No more than $40, and even then I'd wait for a sale still.

@@AlexHyde666 Prime 2 is painfully underrated. It might be the best of the 3. What's the number one thing people always talk about loving so much about the entire franchise? The feeling of isolation, Samus the rogue bounty hunter against a hostile planet, knowing no one is coming to your rescue. Well I'd argue, of the three Prime games, #2 Echoes had the most of that. It was downright punishing. And I loved it.
Regular Aether was semi-dangerous for you. Dark Aether was a total death trap. The dread of going through that portal, knowing your only way to progress is getting some upgrade from a brutal boss in that brutal world. I love it.

The Scan Visor, thank you for putting it in the trailer 🙏 . It has remained the pinnacle of environmental exploration and grand storytelling since 2002-2007.
No game outside of the Prime Trilogy (Tetralogy!!!!) has managed to replicate or reproduce that magic.
Uncovering and translating the eroded tablets of an ancient civilization in a rainswept ruin. Playing Xenobiologist and learning the life cycle or anatomical oddities of alien life. The opportunities for the developers to deepen their world and the player’s connection to it are incredible, yet other games that I consider masterpieces are still missing something akin to the Scan Visor.
The red herring of the original Metroid Prime, where the Chozo tablets speak of a great poison above a poisoned water source; only for you to then discover that they were not speaking of Flaahgra’s poison: but something much deeper, more arcane, eldritch, and sinister.
Slowly uncovering the fates of the G.F.S Tyr and Valhalla in Echoes and Corruption. The search for translator libraries in Echoes.
These memories and many more will stick with me for the rest of my life.
It was amazing how the main storyline of each game, along with the deep lore, both played out slowly and organically through all the various log entries. Even the references to the Pirates failed attempts at mimicking Samus' morph ball added so much to the world building.

Hyping up bosses like Thardus and the Omega pirate just because of the scans earlier on. “Ah crap, I’m going to have to fight this thing aren’t I”.
The mystery of Phazon and the Leviathans, slowly and organically developing over each game via even non-logbook scans: with the first game being the reveal of the threat. The second being the realization that it was not an isolated incident and can get far, far worse if allowed to. And the third being a desperate struggle against a truly existential, eldritch threat.
I’m going to miss Phazon, easily one of the coolest concepts in sci-fi; a dark sentient world outside the galaxy silently putting worlds under siege only to be discovered when it was nearly too late. Phaaze It’s up there with the Flood/Precursors for me.
There is quite literally nothing else like Prime. I adored their handling of DKC, and I have faith in them from the cards they’ve shown thus far.
I like to think that the "Samus Arrives" jingle is her ringtone.
Was already sold. But 1:36… That scene right there captures the essence of Prime imo. The way it pans from Samus onto the mysterious environment with the music. Was just like when you walked into Phendrana for the first time. We are so back.
The intro music alone took me back to prime 1. Definitely glad it's finally here and hopefully they perfect it and make it good like dread was.

Things like this make me feel confidant that the game will indeed live up to the hype, since they're focusing on all the right things such as the scan visor, the isolating feel of the world and the long awaited payoff with Sylux. This trailer had so many moments that made me go "oh yeah, that's Metroid Prime alright".
I didn’t even notice until this most recent watch, there’s an energy tank down a different morph ball path at 1:05.
They put so much information in this trailer.

18 Years many fans waited for this since 2007's Metroid Prime 3 from the Wii
It just looks like a straight continuation from Prime 3 just with slightly better graphics. Gameplay is all the same, even the features they showed, nothing amazing or NEW, Samus just going into morphball mode, and scans a dead body, then a shoot out with a few space pirates and Sylux shows up. Feels like it's missing something here. 🤔
@@RaikenXion Honesty, I don't need anything new at this point. I've waited since Metroid Prime 2 for Metroid Prime with normal controls, I just wanted more content. It's been a long wait, lol.

@@RaikenXion Part of the charm and joy of Metroid is discovery. If they showed off all the new stuff there would be nothing to get excited about. It would be like if the Dread trailers showed us the X parasites. The mystery would be gone. This was a perfect trailer in my opinion. It showed us Samus was back and with a new adventure ahead.

The Metroid Prime 1 remaster is a good jumping in point with it's updated controls and gorgeous visuals. Hopefully the whole trilogy gets the same treatment since it's hard to get your hands on an old copy these days.

same, that's why I started Metroid Prime Remastered, and I hope 2 & 3 got the same treatment. I already 8 Hours playtime, the environment and gameplay is immersive imo, and probably one of the best switch games I ever played

Metroid Prime was the first Metroid game I ever played. Only knew about Samus from the original Smash Bros. Fell in love with it the moment I saw Samus exit her ship and board the Space Pirate Frigate.

Dude has a lot of hatred for Samus, has in game briefly fought alongside Sylux, not against him like the some of the others, so I wouldn't he surprised if he tagged along, especially since his people, the space pirates are involved.

Metroid always follows up on its promises. Even if it takes 15-20 years. Metroid Dread ended up becoming a real thing and Metroid Prime 3's ending teaser is still relevant.
To put things in perspective, the entire MCU began in 2008. Metroid Prime 3 released in 2007. And they're still following through on the ending teaser

In Metroid Prime Hunters Weavil has a deep hatred for Samus as he was present on Zebes before it was destroyed by Samus.

Seriously, this is the one thing I’m really waiting for. Echoes is my favorite Prime game. They really need to give this the Pikmin 4 treatment and release the entire series on new hardware.
With how good the Prime 1 remaster did, even an upscaled release of the other two would be a no-brainer.
Yea when it said 2025, I was really hoping they would say something about 2&3 remasters coming before. Still hoping it might come but not holding my breath anymore for them.
@@danielludwig647 I was thinking earlier that actually, it might be happening. It's not like the console was said to be released March 25th. Perhaps there will be enough time and it (Switch 2) will release late 2025. There could be another Direct in February with a few more remakes and it'd be a very good way to end the console.

@@Scyclo Her suit in general takes slight changes every game. Even MP1 into 2 it had a a minor alteration like the Arm Cannon's missile launcher.

that soundtrack at the ending for the environment reveal is absolutely beautiful, I wanna hear the whole thing so badly. I blasted it on my studio monitors to get the full spacial & texture affects, and my god it's mixed so well

@@ghonwill3726 If you got 100%, after beating the game, there'd be an addition to the ending cutscene where Sylux's ship would appear and follow after Samus's. Also, in Federation Force there was an optional mission that would add a postgame cutscene where Sylux steals a Metroid, hence why he has them with him here.
@@tkayubeI think those are Mocktroids, NOT Metroids. You can tell by the shape being more spherical than a normal Metroid.

I was 34 years old when i played the first Metroid Prime on the Gamecube. Man i love that game, it was always my favorite. After that i played metroid Prime Echoes also on the Gamecube and still have those games ready to play. Metroid Prime Corruption i played that game to but never get used with the motion control so actualy never play it. And now i am 56 years old and finaly there is a Metroid Prime 4 Beyond ! The wait is over and i am ready to play a hole new adventure!

Ohh & if you don't have a pc, then u can play it on your android phone, emulator is called DOLPHIN emulator. If your phone has "mirror to screen tv" option, you can connect ur phone to a tv & enjoy the game on your tv with an xbox controller. Hope this helps.......

My best friends passed before this moment came. We are life long Metroid fans and our favorite theme from prime was the Phendrana Drifts theme.
The music at the end hit me with so many feels, it’s definitely a prime game with that score we were just blessed with.

I reckon that might be the title theme. Especially with the male choirs I can just imagine it. I mean it could also be a recurring theme in that particular area they showed us but nonetheless it's nothing short of Metroid Prime style music.
This gets me hyped the most tbh. The music and atmosphere it what I love most about these games. And it seems fully intact here!
