One of the highest rated and most monumental games of all time, even after 20 years, just casually gets announced and released on the same day. People who are unfamiliar don't realize what just happened.
Yeah it’s actually ridiculous how Nintendo did this to such a monumental masterpiece of a game like Metroid Prime. But I ain’t gonna complain, cannot wait to get home from work and play this 😂

Dont care, xenoblade 3 dlc is far more hype than a halo clone where you play as iron man
This shadow drop was insane. Anyone interested in metroid, or who was brought to the franchise by Dread, should give this game a try. It captures the essence of what a metroid game is insanely well.
Was thinking of emulating it and then Nintendo dropped this in my face that was something xD

100% looking forward to picking up a physical copy. I'm a Dreadite who's been looking forward to playing more of the past Metroid games, and I hope the other Prime games get shadow dropped over the year to build up hype for a major Prime 4 reveal.

Dread was my first game and I'm very likely gonna pick this up. Looks great
I played most of the 2D Metroid games (even though I haven't finished Super Metroid or Samus Returns yet) but I will certainly be playing Prime at some point
2 hours in, now in phendrana drifts (favorite map) I can say this remaster is really a work of art. Not just a re-skin of the original but a full re-work on every model, texture and controls. I was expecting the trilogy being ported but I'm really happy with this one.

Shadow dropping this is crazy. We don't even know who developed this remaster. I mean it's a great idea and it looks great it's just crazy to think this was even on the radar for Nintendo.

Hopefully not for a while. I want it on their next system, switch is pretty outdated
They obviously have 2 and 3 ready already, and will probably be releasing them 6 to 12 months apart.

This is modern hardware at its most entertaining point. The very reason a Nintendo Switch successor will likely not appear until Activision Sony and Microsoft have sorted out how they will divide Activision's assets among the four of them.
But to be honest, I am upset that they didn't add a visible anti-gravity-field in the game's opening cutscene sequence.

@@TheDiamondCraft1 So, in order to be "modern" you can't play splt-screen-multiplayer with four through eight controllers on one console, cannot use a phone as a controller, can't be repaired for less than $200, the motion controls have to suck in a way that feels forced like the kinect or VR, the 5K screen has to give you severe eye problems including myopia or iris cancer before you turn 40 years old, AND has to adopt an upscaling technology that both eliminates the ability to veiw art the way the artist intended, and renders the human character in trollhunter as if he has a grin that would make the heath ledger's scars look less out of place. And have to spend 1700 thousand dollars on PC equipment every year, which is more than any decent mayor of anyplace other than NY or LA makes.

This was the highlight of the entire Direct for me! Even though I've played this game a dozen times, now we have it in HD, and lots of newcomers will be able to experience this amazing game for the first time! I hope they release the entire remastered Prime Trilogy! 😁

I frankly enjoyed the majority of the direct. Splatoon 3 Wave 2 teaser, GBA games for Switch Online, Confirmed release date for the next Zelda game, Ghost Trick finally ported to a modern device that is not a decade old iOS device (though the DS version is still great!) and of course, Metroid Prime Remastered.
Generally tons of decent news for me.

As good as the original Prime is, Echoes is legitimately one of my favorite games of all time
I still have Echoes but man, even back in the day I couldn't get far in any of these Prime games. Nasty at combat, but Its like i have junior alzheimers when it comes to the exploration aspect. The worst for me was Corruption. I start getting overwhelmed just thinking about that map.
It's thematic would also make it pretty eye-catching given how popular parallel worlds and multiverses are these days.
I'm absolutely on that train. Prime 2 Remastered MUST happen.

Man, I love that haunting soundtrack! I will never forget seeing Samus' ship land on that planet for the first time. Looking up into the drizzle and seeing drops land on her visor. What an experience back in the day.

So after playing for a couple hours… HOLY CRAP. Whoever did this remastered needs to do more for Nintendo, I’m not joking when I say this, but you could convince me this was made for Switch, despite this game is nearly (or well it might be now!) 20 years old! I played this in my childhood and so happy to do it not only at 60fps, but 1080p! It looks and feels SO GOOD, probs the BEST port and remastered game of Switch to date. Please DO THE REST this way.

I really love how the Metroid team is releasing other games just hype us up with Prime 4. They look in great quality too. I'm still looking forward to the announcement of Prime 4.

I normally just emulate or pirate games tbh, but I'm convinced this remaster is worth the $40. Will definitely buy it when it comes out physically.

Or at the very least, release the Prime Trilogy on Wii again for Switch to give new fans who just jumped in on Dread (like me) a chance to catch up for Prime 4. Either way, man I'm glad I finally made myself a Metroid fan, and just in time for all this! :D

With Prime 4 coming sometime next year I hope we get 2/3 and maybe hunters since Sylux was originally from Hunters.
I learned a lot life lessons from the lore of this game. And it will always be my favorite game of all time.
Lesson learned from Metroid prime 2 pirate logs: do not feed metroids pet treats, they will get food poisoning

This remake came out same time around my surgery. This was definitely the best way to recorvery killing time and playing one of the best games of all time
It looks sooooo much better than it did on GameCube. They really did a graphic overhaul. I’m about to feel like a kid again with this one!
I beat the GameCube version like a week ago and I gotta say, it doesn’t look that much different
@@yone5499 It def does. I’m certain Digital Foundry will even do a comparison. There’s better textures and more polygons present, and there’s also better effects. Even the leaves on the tree when her ship lands looks significantly better than the original. EDIT: Complete graphic overhaul confirmed.
@@yone5499 I'm playing the trilogy on the Wii right now, it's not a remake ala Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 but it's definitely a sizeable upgrade.

Twenty years in the making, a remaster of one of the most iconic GameCube games has come to blight.
One of the best games I've ever played, if not THE best! The little details it had on the GameCube were mind blowing at the time for me. Like the first time you see Samus' eyes reflect on the visor, steam fogging up the visor, etc... Even scanning objects was so satisfying. Still have my GameCube and copy of Prime, also still have the WiiU and copy of the trilogy. That being said, take my money!
For controls the Wii U Version is the best (was 10€ as it came out insane) but the switch Version jaw dropping.
Man, our girl, Samus, is getting the attention she deserves! A new Side-scroller, a new Prime game, and a proper looking remaster! Eat well, Metroid fans!

20 years. 20 years since I first played Metroid Prime.
It has brought me the happiest memories with my dad. Allowed me to meet my first and best friend when I moved at age 11 when we both played the game. Metroid Prime 2 echoes multiplayer was our Halo. A chance meeting with one of the creators of this game is why I met all of my precious friends in college, who I still see regularly. Not mention, replaying this game has gotten me out of depression twice now.
Thankyou Nintendo for this remake. Thankyou for sharing this beloved game to a new generation.

@@unkindled6410 Every asset, texture, model lighting system has been rebuilt from the ground up. A remaster would simply upres existing assets.
A reMAKE gives you new ones.
So it’s a remake. It’s weird how people still can’t get their terminology straight, not even Nintendo
@@flyingplantwhale545 call of duty has done the same thing with their remasters. Cod4 remastered redid basically everything, but still follows the original mechanically beat for beat. Remaster & remake are loose terms with no concrete prerequisites. The only common differentiating trend is remasters tend to keep the game functionally identical (outside of minor QoL like new controls, customization, character/weapon rebalancing) whereas when they expand, substantially change and add additional gameplay related content (such as the new dead space remake or resident evil 2 - 4 remakes) they tend to use the term remake.
So in short, it makes sense for nintendo to call this a remaster as opposed to remake, but there are devs that treat the terms as interchangable which is also fine because its never been explicitly defined (unless you count internet debates :P, but even those never settled on a consistent definition)
My dad bought me prime with the GameCube bundle still have it to this day one of my most beloved memories.

I was a Metroid naysayer. I always poked fun at Metroid being an obscure franchise. Little did I know that Dread was merely the beginning of my newly found love for the series. For the first time in my life, I am excited for a METROID game!

Never really played Metroid as a kid. I missed out on it as a kid despite having the Gamecube, but after playing Dread and loving it I immediately preordered the physical. So excited to finally give this a try 🥳

Won't be while 2024 that Metroid Prime 2 echoes and well for Metroid Prime 3 that's going to be around 2027, originally came out on Wii the third game as the second game along with the first on GameCube.

im genuinely really glad nintendo is putting so much more effort in the game series that had no games for a long time (some might consider a few of them dead). a lot of the series that didnt get as big as mario or zelda are still amazing and great fun, and seeing them back in the running makes me so happy.
also, im gonna say it like it is, smash bros has a lot of nintendo characters whose series can be revived with just a single game and a good announcement. everyone who has played smash bros knows fox or captain falcon, but the majority havnt played any of the games they originated from, simply because they dont get new games.
i think most people would be for a new star fox or F-zero game, but for now, theyre missed opportunities.
Playing this game back in the day was insane with practically no loading. It just oozed style and ambiance. I felt like I was in the suit myself. So looking forward to this!

BRO. I'm at about 75% collection now, and it's amazing how the muscle memory came rushing back. I also love how they have the option to keep the legacy Game Cube controls. Hands down one of the best FPS games ever made (because the morph ball puzzles also test your problem-solving skills, not just how well you can point and shoot), and the soundtrack is brilliant and immersive. I've been waiting on Nintendo to release this for Switch for a long time. This game is pure fun, and I'm REALLY hoping Echoes is in the works for release.

Already finished the game within a day and unlocked hard mode, even if nothing was changed at all. I'm glad they kept everything exactly as it was 20 years ago, the game was perfect as it was even if only better graphics now. I hope everyone who's looking forward to 4 enjoy their time on this one!

I...I was not expecting to see an updated - much less replay - Metroid Prime today. Not only did we get to see it today now with clean graphics, new controls, and on a switch , but play it RIGHT NOW. Recharging my Switch and downloading the game as I type this.

This game has my favorite final boss of all time. The fact that it utilizes almost EVERY SINGLE ability in the game mixed with its badass music and terrifying design... I've never experienced another final boss quite like it. Can't wait to pick this up once the physical copies release! Hopefully they'll remaster Prime 2 & 3 next.

As someone who grew up with this game, playing it when it was brand new, this remaster is by far the definitive way to play this game. Not only are the graphics just completely overhauled and are stunning but it retains the QoL improvements that were added in the Wii version while restoring what was removed for said version. Please Nintendo and Retro Studios, please do the same for Echos and Corruption. I will not hesitate to buy them; but I have a request for Echoes, please restore the original Temple Key collect fanfare in the Remaster.

I don’t think Nintendo has ever shadow dropped a game like this. Back me up on this because I’m not 100% sure. Usually they double down on the marketing but for this they didn’t even need to. The game is already amazing, being able to play it again is all the marketing it needed

I’m not sure why Rockstar Games removed the ancient Indian painting which tells about the curse of Valentine in Red Dead Redemption 2.
No that game will not be on the switch unless you want it as a Cloud Version.
