ROTFLMAO!
Thank you for reviewing the EP8. So many schills for Arken making videos on this scope it's been hard to find actual neutral info.
I have one and its geat.
@@TheCamaro5you sound like an desperate shill lol.
@@COLT6940you don’t know what shill means do you?
I don't know what all the hate towards Arken is about.
While I don't own an EP8 yet, I do own two EP5s and they are fantastic for the price point. I easily shot out to 1100 yds with mine.
@@ohms139 I think these snobs compare these products to the premium ones in the same class. I will say, I only purchase top tier optics, but I’ll never shit on or pretend I don’t understand why people don’t. Guns are American. American is being free. We should just be happy there’s people still exercising rights. The gun community should be the last to judge people’s pockets.

Rip the man, big ounce.
I don't know what I will do with myself when Kevin dies.
Big Ounce saved me 4 times during gunfights in the Donbas. I don’t know what we’ll do without him 😔
Okay first of all there was no need to come at me for my shrimp posture while watching this on the toilet.
Second of all, that reticle looks like it's giving me glyphs for the Stargate
work on your posture you SHRIMP!
Shrimply disgusting behavior. You’re krill-ing yourself with that crustacean posture.

Thats how much they are now, doebeit
I picked up 2 of them for $299 back in November , and I have no complaints
same. i don't think they're worth the new price tho, the eye box is pretty bad
Where?
I agree. Mine was $300 and I am happy. Would've gone with something else if I would've had to spend $500.
Because you barely shoot long range anyway.
I got out to 300 yards pretty easily, I just had to use the first tic mark drop after I zeroed. Looking for a place to shoot further. I got them from Arken’s website and used a code from the the gun tubers at the time promoting it that got and extra $100 off.
RIP Big Ounce

Finally an honest review of that reticle. Good job.
“Sometimes you need to fill holes in your preparedness.” Ain’t that the truth! You animals got me looking into night vision now, not to mention a weapon light for my Benelli M4, lighter plates, a thermal scope, a couple suppressors, a shorter barreled AR for aforementioned NV, a semi-auto .308, 40 acres and a mule…
It never ends.
Don't forget 800 lbs of freeze dried meat

After shooting 3 gun for multiple decades I've tried multiple different setups. And the fastest and most accurate setup I found is a fixed Power Scope either 8 power or 10 power with a red dot on top. You will never be able to change the variable power on a scope as fast as just lifting your head
@Yeoman7 shooting USPSA 2 gun and 3 gun really shows you what is the absolute fastest and most accurate. I'm looking for a micro prism fixed either 8x or 10x. That's good enough for me to make hits with my heavy metal rifle easily out to a thousand. I've seen every rifle there is out there on the competition field. Nothing comes close to a JP Enterprise rifle. Nothing, I don't care how much money you spend.
I really wish there was a decent 8x prism scope. I love my ACOG/RMR setup.
Piggy-back is best as both can share the same zero. With canted, you have to also zero the cant independently.
@@hawaiiangunner No 8x prism yet. There are 5x and 6x. I think Primary Arms make them. But a good second focal plane 1-8 kept on 8x with a piggyback rmr would be the only thing I can think of. PA PLX 1-8 compact is good. I still like the Razor gen2 1-6 HD-E. Or Sig Tango, Trijicon Credo, Delta Stryker, Viper PST, Eotech Vudu, Kahles.
Comparing it to a glx 1-10 does that mean we're getting a review of one soon 👀
No complaints with mine. It’s worth the price. Mounted on a .308 and gets worked pretty good. Great video man!
3:55 that’s some sick footage. Good review as always!

Interesting reticle idea, curious to see it tested.
But ranging reticle are a great thing to me, I used my ACOG in Afghanistan to range targets & get close enough for calling artillery.
What model and reticle did they issue?
@fightmilk8613 I honestly don't recall. It was 3.5 or 4x I think with the 556bdc and 'man sized target' ranging lines.
It had tritium inside, the fiber optic Upton & did not have the "back up irons" as part of the top frame.
I've seen some who had those.
@@fightmilk8613the Army ACOGs are/were the TA31RCO. There are a few variants, with some being calibrated for a 20” barrel and some for a 14.5” barrel.
@@fightmilk8613there were crosshairs with tritium and then later they used the chevron
The crosshairs had irons on top and 1/3 adjustments and the chevron were bare on top with 1/2 adjustments
1-8 Trijicon SCO with LaRue mount is pretty hard to beat in my opinion. That said, it’s not cheap, nor is it light. However, it runs on AA batteries and is pretty much bombproof. I doubt I’ll ever need to buy anything else though, so the value is there for me. I’m not interested in buying a bunch of cheap stuff to find out what I can settle for in compromise but that’s just me. Enjoy Shotshow man!
I dont mind a slightly busy reticle, but holy crap this made my brain hurt just looking at their website.
You're right, if they did more of a standard reticle/ranging with the nice class they would be far better off.
Because of all the press this optic has been receiving as of late I've had my eye on it, but if I'm not mistaken, their prices recently increased to what they are now, and that reticle is super busy I have to agree. Still keeping my eye on the company though.
the reticle is not busy at all compared to others. Same as vortex scopes but with lines to help range targets. very easy.
@@TheCamaro5hello mrs shill.

great timing. "Mountains, Mullets, 'Merica" just did an episode on it as well.
That dude's channel is legit!
I was really interested in this optic when they first announced it.
I’ve got their EP5 & EPL4 and they’re solid optics at their price points.
Then I saw the reticle in this thing….
Definitely gonna be a pass for me until they add a different reticle to the lineup.
This is a pretty awesome optic.
I didn’t want to break the bank. But I got one for my Aero AR-10.
I love it. I wish it was 10x…
But the optic has clear glass, it’s got an awesome reticle that is completely functional for putting rounds on target.
about time someone reviewed this
1:59 legit thought this was Tim Pool for a second
how do you know it isnt?
Same 😂
Another review I watched on this said it was designed around a 50/200 zero, and with that in mind you just use the center reticle for anything out to at least 200 yards and drop a hole halfway to the 400-yard marker for a 300yd shot.
Seemed to work for that reviewer. I'm still up in the air on this LPVO, so can't vouch for how effective that is.
I prefer my Aztec Rorschach to be made with the blood sacrifice of my enemy.
I like mine. Got it for 299$ on their website with a discount code. I have nothing to compare it to as it is my first LPVO. Works great. Easy to zero and very clear at any setting.
Thanks for the honest review! Personally I hate the reticle. I understand what they are doing with it. But at the price point, if it was mil reticle, I would have bought one.
Yeah for the 250 I spent back when I'm happy with how it performed. Definitely looking into a 2.5-15 from trijicon now though.
opsin review incoming i assume? really excited to see how digital night vision advances. the features it can bring to the table are really interesting even if the tech isn't ready to play with the big boys just yet.
Big Ounce will live on in our hearts forever 🙏
wahooooo! :(
I like the big ring at low magnification, but also the precise reticle at higher magnification.
You didn't have to call my posture out like that 😂😂😂
I have one of their 4-16x scopes. The glass isn't the best quality, but for 300 dollars and the feature set I got, its pretty good. The scope is solid and I can shoot out to 600y. Its a solid scope for the price and its held together very well on my ar10. I'd say Arken makes good entry level scopes with features that even some 2000 dollar optics don't come with (looking at you Leupold)
True. But why go with Arken when Primary arms is already doing everything this does but better and simpler.
@@FXIIBeaver I see that their SLx line on their site is similarly priced, ill have to check them out. Have you used their SLx 1-8 by chance?
@@Langelmaki no. I stick to 1-6 at most.
@@FXIIBeaver true, PA has a lot of great offerings. Only reasons I didn't go with them at the time was lack of stock for the scopes in the price range I wanted with the features I wanted. They were literally the same price so I went with Arken. Don't regret it, however. I have a PA prism and that thing is also great. Got it on deep discount for 99 dollars.
@@wellingtonbruh3756 that is a fantastic deal.
I kinda like that reticle, i just ordered one to try out. I don't like reticles that are too busy with lines and dots everywhere that cloud the target... gonna give a go and see how i like this one... it may end up on a lever action if it doesn't fit my needs for the AR15.
Vudu 1-10SR5. Used on 20”, 13.7”, and 16” 556. Fav scope. Used about five others to include an ATACR 4-20. The worst thing about the SR5 is the reticle on low magnification. It sucks. Just a giant speed ring with a lack of center aiming point. I get it for 100yds and I’m just place on target and shoot. 1X fucks on the vudu.
You transformed into Tim Pool when you put on the wool beanie
“Shrimplike posture, like you are over your phone rn.” Damn, didn’t need you to call me out.

I'm quite interested in hearing your unbiased opinion on vector optic's continental 1-6x's 1x performance. I like hearing of more LPVO options with 1x performance that can possibly achieve TR24 accupoint levels of good.
Bump. I would love to see how this looks
I own a Vector Optics Taurus 1-6x24 FFP LPVO and I like it.
It would be awesome if Brass could do a review on that as well. I'm not sure if there is a huge difference between the Taurus and Continental besides the 34mm main tube.
@@ohms139 the Continental has different internal (supposedly better) glass.
Morbidly curious about the Continental as well, both the regular & fiber optic model. Not too much info on either.
Same here! I'd love to see more reviews on it.
I bought the fiber optic 1-6 Continental at Focus Tripp's recommendation, love it so far. It was clearly a big step up over my strike eagle Gen 2.
I was looking into one of these actually but had heard that their prices were just increased recently. I may be totally wrong but I think they were like 350 now they are 499. Im not an expert with scopes and while I am interested still in this optic, the "Aztec" reticle etchings are not my thing. Thanks for the review, greatly appreciated! Im still going to keep an eye on this company though.
Great video. What mount are you running?

If only all guntubers were as breviloquent as this highly underrated self-deprecating (a sign of higher-than-average intelligence ) young man. Hopefully, others in the 2nd amendment community will find out about him and subscribe.
In most situations I didn't find an LPVO to be faster than an ACOG/RMR setup. I think an 8X prism/red dot integrated sight would be much better if only it would exist. I always watch these reviews to see if some new LPVO comes out that changes my mind though.
Nokia snake reticle? Count me in.
Review the Vector Optics Continental 1-6 theres also a 1-10. Its has german glass and a fiber reticle. Focus Tripp gave it a very postive review
Since you are on a LPVO pilgrimage, you should look at the SAI6 FFP 1-6. Made by the same people that brought you the Maple Can (Elcan). 18oz and a FOV of 127ft - 21.3ft at 100m
I got one of these for 300$ in november from Arken. Found a Arken mount on amazon at a 1/4 of the price of a vortex and a 1/3 of the size. This is my first lpvo nd was kinda surprised at the girth. I bought it for a "sniper" 233/5.56 im building. On my dailey rifle im at 500 no problem. You will need a throw lever, shes tight. Just the other day i got a set of lens covers from ? No invoice, no name on the package. Not a great set, but free? Sure.
That reticle mic peaks TRON
This looked to good to be true, I looked into how waterproof Arken is and there's no mention of being waterproof at all on the website. I'd take it to mean that it's not, so it's a no-go for me in the PNW
uh, let me toss it in a bucket of water. I didn't have issues during snow and rain. But who knows.
It says "Waterproof" on the side of the box along with some other things but doesnt say what waterproof rating it is
I have the 4x16 and shoot in the rain all the time, with no issues. Also from the PNW. That said, I haven't submerged mine.
I got one. It's dope.
I have one. I love it.
Glycine Combat Sub. Nice watch choice.
What is that hoodie looking great you're wearing with the backpack in the desert? Looks rad and really helpful in a desert environment. What's it call and where can I get it?
I have one from before the hike. Definitely punches above its weight class, jusy not to the point of the videos claiming its better than 2/3k glass. Thats said, i also firmly believe glass DOES NOT cost that much but its your moneu, do what you will. And i personally like the reticle, i think its a cool way to use multiple features at once witout having to offset off target

Had this for $200 and returned it. I actually liked it a lot, but the reticle illumination meant that it would still need a red dot. I already have too many LPVOs that do. Plus, for a home-defense application, I am thinking that SFP scopes make more or at least as much sense: the 8x is for observation. I have no business pulling the trigger past 200yds, and the magnification and reticle requirements for pulling that off are nearly zero. But if it is 4yds, I need an all-circumstance usable aim-point, and right now.
There is no reason to have an LPVO for a HD gun.

This begs the question: if you had to buy and use a 1-8x FFP LPVO, is there a scope better than this for less than $1,000? For context, I'm neutral on the reticle for now. Ideally, I'd buy the PLXc, but babies ain't cheap.
if you can handle the reticle. This is probably pretty decent.
If you can get a tango 6 1-6x, or a credo 1-8x used, you'll be much happier tho.
Since you're into the battle rifle thing, can you add a little something for us?
Drop your guns and track zero retention capability.
Nothing crazy, just a little drop from 18" onto a shooting mat and then 36". It's the Formidilosus/Rokslide test I'm referring to.
I don't do destructive testing atm.
To expensive when I pay for all this stuff.
I have one of these. I like mine. I got it for 200 because I ordered the initial batch and it was delayed.
at 200 bucks this is insanely good.
that outer reticle coming in as you reduce zoom is a really nice effect

Any chance for your critique of either reticle in the Atibal Hybrid 12?
I've been thinking about throwing one of these on a 13.9 Aero M5 I'm building to use as a GP battle rifle and figured with that nice 1x ring I can do most shooting out to a few hundred yards no problem then punch it to 8x with the drops for fast shooting beyond 400 and on to 600 or 700 if necessary. I'd like to see you put this on a 308 and see how quick you can make hits with that little bit more omph from the 308 over a 5.56 rifle.
scope like an egyptian
It remember asking you to review this a few months back on a life glad you finally got around to it
Glad I went with the Nova and keeping my standard 1-6 acss primary arms… I definitely like simple yet intuitive reticles
I got on it almost right away, it just takes months to review stuff
I've seen some people calling out people shilling for Arken, I've been very happy with the 4 that I have. But I've also been pretty happy with most of the $300+ optics I've bought over the last 7-8 years. I only own one LPVO, which I run on an 8" 300BLK, which I managed to get hits at 650yds the other day. This was a good review of the product, showing the reticle and the magnification lever being adjusted gives a good sense of what the experience is like.
That scrim set up is sick. Will you cover that in the future?
yeah
you get a lot of trigger time compared to most of us , question: do you think an lp vo is practical for a survivalist or just normal users on their one "do it all "rifle? i bought an elcan 1-4 because of your reviews and a few others. i live on the front range and as you know slipping, tripping and falling are frequent hazzards during mountain travel. i have a burris 1-6 on an untried new upper but i feel sketchy about bringing it for long range camping hiking etc. appreciate your take on durability survivability of those type of sights. 26 years mtn S&R and trained with the 10th and at ethan allen so not a complete newbie to rugged travel. thanks, josh in CO
Would be cool to see what your ideal lpvo would look like if you were able to design one.
Did I see a tavor in there? Can’t wait for that review.

How does this LPVO compare to a vortex strike Eagle 1-6 2nd focal plane LPVO?
Does the vortex scope have better image quality?
Acss reigns supreme in my opinion.
@brassfacts what watch is that?
I grabbed one of these when PewView shilled em out with a code for a healthy discount. I'm not mad at it for under 400 with Arken's (seemingly) heavy duty cantilever mount, even with the hieroglyph range finder. XD

Urban Rescue Branch reference in the Arken review fo today 🗿🤝👨🌾
Mine shipped out yesterday.... ah, poop, brassfax is going to make me regrets. Actually no! You might have said something about their shipping times being months just to adjust expectations.
Weird! I ordered mine on 1/17/24 and received it on 1/27/24. I did have an email stream going with customer service and specifically asked them when they were going to ship. They responded in 5 minutes and said, "NOW!" I have not mounted/used it yet. So, I will reserve judgement. But, from a customer/shipping time standpoint, I'd have to say A+.
My dogs are about Nova sized, and they prefer being picked up and held like children
Thoughts on using an lpvo as a prism? Set to 3 or 4x, red dot up top, have more magnification if needed, and redundancy 1x if the dot shits itself
Just get a 3x or 4x prism that you can piggy back a dot on & save yourself the extra weight of the LVPO.
@chizorama this forgets the redundancy 1x part which is huge for me. Just buy a better red dot only applies to red dots that are prohibitively expensive like the aimpoint t2
@@TheGunNerd The problem with most lvpo's is most are SFP, & their reticles are designed to run at full magnification, not in between. FFP is designed to run throughout, but really, the extra weight is significant. I don't really see the point of running a dot with an lvpo, but that's just my 2cents.
My question is how long did you guys wait? Wait to receive your LPVO cuz for us normal people it takes about a month to two months. Pretty sure because you guys are reviewing this. You guys got it in one week
I ordered an an EP back in November. Had a 5-6 week lead time on the website. Shipped within a week of purchase.

Reticle from snake on the old Nokia phones
Been saying this for years now the ranging features are maybe .1% of use in a gun fight lol.. Theres a huge reason the circle dot is so popular with guys who do gun fighting lol
Why have a ffp if not going for long range? I would think second focal plane would be best.
Of course it would the trend of everyone wanting a first focal plane or else scope is very strange … it’s a RUclips professional reviewer syndrome.
There’s almost zero reason to have accurate reticle tensions at your low end zoom especially when you are going for 1x bottom end ?? I think especially for AR15 the need for more than 4x is way over blown anyway if you are using a AR 15 to reach out past 300 yards you have the wrong tool you should be using a 308 caliber and then having a 10x zoom or higher would be sufficient… but more than zoom glass clarity/resolution and light gathering is far more important than zoom range from top to bottom…
Of course if you can afford it you can have everything but your spending $2,000 plus on a real optic the under a $1,000 market you should really be looking at fixed scopes are second focal plane with better glass quality than low end ffp…
