One think I stopped doing was saying things like, " I LOVE diet coke" I stopped putting love words on unhealthy foods. This one little trick has helped me so much!!!
Be careful with the electrolyte packets. Especially if you have blood pressure or cardiac issues. 1000mg is a lot because when you think about cooking with salt as well. Cardiac patients usually only can take 2000 mg for example need to be on a low sodium diet. But that one packet has 1000mg. That’s a lot
The main reason alcohol stalls weight loss is because the liver will always work first on processing it, no matter how few carbs you ate throughout the day. You’ll never get into fat-burning mode because the body is trying to “burn” (process) the alcohol. It of course adds calories (and carbs if you’re having beer or sugary drinks), but the alcohol itself, needing to be processed, is the main reason.
For me: Keto diet with Intermittent Fasting. I gave up gluten, alcohol, grains, processed carbs, seed oils veg oils, most peanut foods except occasional organic peanut butter but pour the oil off, most starches and only after 3.5 years I rarely eat after cooking and 24 hr refrigerating creating RESISTANT starches mostly purple sweet potato and unripe green plaintain. I gave up all fruit for 2 years and now eat only small amounts once a day or every other day like 5-6 raspberries or blueberries or 1/4 grapefruit or 1/4 cup organic cranberries or 2 tablespoons of pomegranate or 1 unripe kiwi or 1/3 or 1/2 of smaller unripe wild crabapple or 1/3 or 1/2 wild unripe dwarf pear ( I eat unripe fruit as it has less fructose but they have all the nutrients and I just add my stevia/Erythritol to sweeten them to taste. Also occasionally very green hard unripe mango I use a potato peeler to make slices to top goat cheese on quality keto toast and the sprinkle the mango with stevia and throw real thin layer Swiss cheese on top. Sometimes embed walnuts or pecans in the goat cheese and sprinkle Ceylon Cinnamon inside this open face sandwich treat. Also gave up all lectins and nightshades for 3 years but now I’m adding deseeded organic tomatoes and yellow & orange deseeded bell peppers back in for the lycopene and the polyphenols. Also adding back in organic beets in smaller portions of cold Borscht to help get more nitric oxide development in my body. I lost the 40 lbs. I needed to.and am maintaining the loss. I’m 70.5 yrs. & diabetic.
I completely cut soda of any kind unless I'm sick! All I ever drink is water and coffee and have been maintaining that for 13 years. I just don't want it anymore. I also went from putting creamer in my coffee to just putting 2 teaspoons of stevia in it. About 3 years ago I decided to try and see if I could get myself down to black coffee with just a little sweetener in it and i did it.
Thank you! I sing for a living and I’ve noticed a big chance ever since I stopped eating dairy. I noticed my throat is not scratchy any more, thanks to you pointing out that correlation.
I told my husband that I truly believed my knee pain was from sugar. I’ve been intermittent fasting and have drastically cut down on sugar. We went to a retirement party and the next day my knee hurt so so bad and the cheesecake and cake I ate at the party were the only things I could say contributed to the pain. Thanks so much for this information.
I know what you are saying is correct. The trouble is my husband eats all this stuff and doesn't have an issue. That would require me making separate meals, so that doesn't work. I will try and cut back on bread (gluten), don't have a problem with pop, don't drink a lot of alcohol, sugar for sure, and I don't eat or drink a lot of dairy. Try to use olive or avocado oil on a regular basis. Thanks!! It makes me more mindful.
I have 37 food allergies and it was a big shock when the doctor handed me the results of the allergy blood test. I already knew I had dairy and gluten allergy but the rest was a big shocker; like lettuce. Although he said I could have some because it was low on the allergy list. There was seasoning, too, like turmeric, black pepper, ginger (powdered and root). It's rough and I'm still going through an elimination process.
I had a similar experience, I took an allergy test at my doctor's office and it came back with 30+ foods I was allergic to. I was shocked and couldn't believe it. Then I checked into a certified clinic where they analyze in detail what you're allergic to, including gut inspection and colposcopy. I spent two full weeks there and the first 5 days they have everyone on a strict rice and potatoes diet to reset your body. The they perform blind tests with several different potential allergy triggers on you (you have to swallow it dissolved in water and you don't know what you're ingesting). I had to journal every day how I felt after the test, had blood test every morning. After two weeks they told me I had a gluten intolerance as well as soy and casein allergy. I'm avoiding these things ever since and no longer suffer from allergy symptoms. TLDR get a second test (preferably a long term, detailed test at a certified clinic) before avoiding 37 foods for the rest of your life.

A sensible dinner with meat ( or fish)and broccoli or cucumbers. Snack less Evil popcorn made with coconut oil. Some days ill add a piece of cheese or carrots and hummus instead of yogurt for lunch. I do love salad and if out have that with blue cheese dressing on the side.

I love fizz, too, and couldn't drink water without it. To cut the cost of fizz water, I bought a SodaStream and it's GREAT! LMNT, ice, and lemon juice in a glass, add water fizzed with SodaStream. Yummy and hydrating! Great help in my keto journey!
I’ve been eating ketovore for a bit now, it’s helped me lose more weight. I had the gastric sleeve about 5 months ago and my weight-loss has been slow because I didn’t have a ton to lose. Since I’m super limited to what I can eat anyway, cutting out everything has helped. I try to only eat vegetables that have protein in them,to help with my protein intake, of course only after I eat my meat protein first. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now, and love everything you have to share! Thank you!
This list is a great starting point for anyone. The info regarding the half life of seed oils alone is shocking. Our bodies have a very informative feedback loop. All one needs to do is pay attention. Really good info here as always!
I got addicted to sugar again when I was in the hospital for weeks. Trying so hard to stay away from it. The only fake sugar that I can eat is stevia cause they all cause me pain. Thank you Mayra!
In the name of profit, hospitals have the least healthy food on the planet and forget the taste. You might as well be eating prison food. Glad you're back on track.
As someone with Hashimotos Thyroiditis I was advised by my endocrinologist to eat a gluten-free diet. I also eat as little refined sugar and dairy as possible, also lactose intolerant. Seed oils was another thing she mentioned. I was eating a lot of salads and almost all of the store bought salad dressing contain seed oils. I can definitely tell when I eat too much of these ingredients.
I have been thinking of going Gluten free for my whole family! When I go out to eat I get either water with lemon or unsweetened tea with lemon. I can't give up dairy. I do like Almond milk. But I can't go without my cheeses and creamers. I'm not much of a drinker either. I will have a wine cooler at a party.
Do not go GF and listen to this nonsense! Only people with Celiacs need to be GF. It's a deep rabbit hole you will take years to climb out of. I'm living proof of that.
I agree with everything she said except for gluten. I can eat gluten and still lose weight. I stopped drinking sodas back in 2006 when i was a sophomore in high school. I never drank alcohol or did street drugs.
I’m kinda confused so hope this isn’t a silly question: how would you suggest not eating dairy when you include cream cheese in several of your recipes? Or are you suggesting to cut down on certain forms of dairy?
I'm so glad your channel popped up this morning!❤ I've been seeing your Facebook reels for a while, but I sooo prefer RUclips to Facebook.😊 Yayyyyy, your advice in this video is exactly what I needed to hear!❤
I just bought myself a Soda Stream... not because I love sweetened soda ...but I love seltzer. I also battled IC... and my bladder gets irritated if I do not stay to the alkaline side ... so I drink an ionized high alkaline water... the soda stream helps me have my High alkaline water with as much bubbles as I want! And I can add flavoring to it should I want it to have a hint of a flavor ... without added sugar or artificial sugar. And yup- gluten can cause bloating - and yup... dairy is notorious for causing sinus congestion and allergies- this l learned forty years ago when I ran a health food store. But.... sometimes you just have to have that zero carb tortilla or a low carb Hawaiian roll Lol! It's about finding your own personal balance! You look wonderful as always!
Good evening: Queens NY. I have been doing low carb; and strength training with wghts. Lost mad inches. Issue: Binging and night eating. So I'm swapping more H2O. PU tumbler filled. Tracking. Wgt. 220. Thank you for the meal plan and EVERYTHING.
Thanks for the encouragement and inspiration. You mentioned that there's a link to your meal plan in the description but I couldn't see it. Would you mind sharing it please?
When did you start reintroducing these things or did you not cut them out completely? I have noticed a lot of your recipes or even things you buy from Costco contain dairy.
I'm always surprised that people don't understand that adding syrup, honey, and other sweeteners completely destroys your diet. People also don't realize how snacking on some chips while cooking, or alcohol, and small extra eating between meals DESTROYS results. It should be common knowledge but it isn't. Track your food. Every calorie for a week and see how much you actually take in. It will change your life. Losing weight takes REAL sacrifice. Then eventually it's easy to change your habits.
I don't think that it's not uncommon knowledge. I think the problem is cognitive dissonance which is a psychological state that occurs when someone has conflicting beliefs, ideas, or actions, and experiences discomfort or tension as a result. The answers are so simple that even when they hear or see the truth for what it is they are frozen or stuck Plus our government and how it regulates food and drugs is preventing us from living our best lives. Keeping people sick is far more profitable than if we actually healed people. Which is why achieving health is so hard for so many people.
Here’s an idea for you. I add LMNT to plain sparkling water (I like Liquid Death). I’m a bubbles girl too. I know that LMNT has a sparkling water also, but it is so expensive. And they have only 2 flavors I like.
When I want something fizzy to drink, I have carbonated water with lemon, and it's enough for me. I only drink this when I'm having a meal, usually only once every couple of weeks or so. I was never one to drink soda all the time before I went keto, so it's not been the adjustment for me that it's been for others. Just a suggestion.
The sodium content will be good for me because honestly my cardiologist even told me to increase my salt intake because I get dizzy a lot. Even my bloodwork shows I need more salt. 😊 Thank you for sharing LMNT. I just ordered and got my free packets with it. Thank you for your inspiring message.
I agree with 'making things at home'. Meal prepping or even grocery prepping ;having fresh and organic on hand. Clean eating is so worth it and way less than eating out. Besides fast food had really become out of touch with inflation. (two orders of egg rolls& 1 order veggie fried rice was $45 dollars in Minneapolis! ) I nearly choked. But it shamed me to get on the plan and stick to it. Steak and a mini salad is so much more spending$ on a $25 Porterhouse steak to split with hubby. God bless you Mya and happy fall, whatever that looks like in your neighborhood.
I hear you. I am totally the same about the diet soda and needing the fizz. I quit for 3 weeks and drank Pellegrino or flavored sparkling water instead. Sadly I started drinking the diet soda again. I need to stop. It bloats my belly. Dr. Mindy Pelz says if you can only do one thing, eliminate the bad oils. How can you have honey or maple syrup on Keto? I love honey. It has been explained that our body sees alcohol as a foreign substance. So it will stop fat burning while it tries to get rid of the alcohol.
I have to give up dairy again! I’ve lost 14 lbs., but I’m still puffy. I did eliminate dairy & gluten together in 2017 for about 3 years. I was starving all day. 😵💫 I need tips please. 😘
Cultures that are lactose intolerant all have some form of feta, cottage or processed cheese, wich allows them to access the nutrients without the allergies.
Question…. You just did a pumpkin cinnamon rolls recipe with low carb tortillas the other day. If you have given up gluten, then how are you eating those?
This video is about what she gave up when she was losing the weight and what helped her. She is not losing weight anymore. She is maintaining now. That’s why she uses that stuff in her recipes now.
Gluten is so hard and expensive to maintain out of your diet. But definitely sparkling water is amazing! Thankfully I’ve never enjoyed alcohol so that’s an easy one for me.
Veggie oil is not good for you, but SOME seed oil are are very good for you in moderation and if it is good quality. Olive Oil Coconut Oil Avocado Oil Chia Seed Oil
Sometimes your weight doesn't change or you gain, but your body composition changed. I listened to a live stream yesterday where they discussed gaining lean muscles which made the scale stay stable or rise. In my own experience, I can flatten my problem areas but my weight stays the same.

It also depends on the type of salt that you use. Table salt is a no no. Celtic salt is best.
Just a pinch of celtic salt in your water should do it.

Thank you for the advice. I am diabetic and this will help us folks too. Stay blessed!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge😊
Here’s an idea for you. I add LMNT to plain sparkling water (I like Liquid Death). I’m a bubbles girl too. I know that LMNT has a sparkling water also, but it is so expensive. And they have only 2 flavors I like.
What is better Diet Coke or Coke Zero? Is there a difference?
I wish I knew the difference
Pepsi Zero
I believe Coke Zero also means no caffeine and diet coke contains caffeine
Along with gluten I also have to say processed gluten free products. Thank you so much for sharing your journey! It is so helpful to so many!
You’re amazing!
Thank you for this!
Thank you , you are my virtual friend who gives honest advice ❤
Do you have a recipe for a non alcoholic sugar free margarita? It’s one of my favorite things ever 💕💕💕
Water kefir is sparkling on second ferment 😊
What's wrong with Coke Zero?
Thanks for the video 🙏if you drink once a week is that okay?
When I want something fizzy to drink, I have carbonated water with lemon, and it's enough for me. I only drink this when I'm having a meal, usually only once every couple of weeks or so. I was never one to drink soda all the time before I went keto, so it's not been the adjustment for me that it's been for others. Just a suggestion.
I actually like the choice of music you used here… was very soothing.
If you cut out dairy, what do you use in place of butter? Could you let me know the name of the alternative butter you use. Thank you
This is spot on! Thank you!
All of what you said makes sense. Enjoy your videos!
No alcohol no problem.
So I’m uncertain, do you eat basically a keto diet? Or some version of that? Thank you.
Thanks for the summary
Thank you..
I have lost 15 pounds already and I really appreciate you sharing and enjoy your videos very helpful.
Thanks for everything!!
Try Nixie or Spindrift for a treat beverage. Nixie RootBeer, BlackCherry and a bunch others or Cherry Cola Zevia.
I am wondering about the yogurt what one do you recommend without Dairy and not soy and ❤❤❤ you girl you look amazing
Love the background music…💗🙋♀️
I have to give up dairy again! I’ve lost 14 lbs., but I’m still puffy.
I did eliminate dairy & gluten together in 2017 for about 3 years. I was starving all day. 😵💫
I need tips please. 😘
Gratis sugar-free wine
Peach vodka has zero carbs
So is sesame oil and olive oil bad ?
Thanks for the tips. I’m struggling to get this fat suit off. Hoshimotos and forced menopause sucks. Btw …Your hair looks great.
What are your thoughts on Low carb products with gluten? Such as products with Vital wheat gluten
I think it’s really important to clarify that cutting gluten doesn’t mean cutting carbs
Didn't hear any music...could hear video without any trouble... Great tips
Your pizzas have cheese... when you say you cut out dairy....what about the cheese?
Cultures that are lactose intolerant all have some form of feta, cottage or processed cheese, wich allows them to access the nutrients without the allergies.
Question…. You just did a pumpkin cinnamon rolls recipe with low carb tortillas the other day. If you have given up gluten, then how are you eating those?
Used cream cheese too, didn't it? But she gave up dairy??
@@margeebechyne8642 Yes, it used cream cheese as well….
This video is about what she gave up when she was losing the weight and what helped her. She is not losing weight anymore. She is maintaining now. That’s why she uses that stuff in her recipes now.
She’s selling element, not telling the truth
@@LeslieKnope4Pres You need to listen to her again. FIrst thing she says is this video is about the 5 foods she gave up TO STAY LEAN.
Olive Oil
Coconut Oil
Avocado Oil
Chia Seed Oil
Someone can correct me, but the yeast is in alcohol could be the hindrance. It converts to sugar.
I was addicted to all Powerades ,so much hidden sugar! I tried the zero sugar ones and they are Yuk so had to just eliminate it.
Is being dairy and gluten free healthy for kids?
Sometimes your weight doesn't change or you gain, but your body composition changed. I listened to a live stream yesterday where they discussed gaining lean muscles which made the scale stay stable or rise. In my own experience, I can flatten my problem areas but my weight stays the same.
I’m waiting on my LMNT in the mail rn. The chilli mango is top tier.
