    YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT when you decide to fast for at *minimum* 12 hours. Stop eating at 9pm. Don't eat again until 9am. If you can wait another hour until 10am to eat, that's a 13 hour fast! The chemical, biological, metabolic aspect of our body is a real thing. Our body needs a break from digesting food, so as to repair itself. DO THIS FOR YOURSELF. Fast at least 12 hours. Find delicious caffeine free teas to drink at night to curb eating and stop eating at 8 or 9pm. You'll not regret it.

    I lost 111lbs over a year & know the struggle. Sharing some of the things I discovered on my own food journey:
    Meal/snack prep makes a BIG difference when you're struggling with cravings & portion control! Prepare for having overwhelming cravings at first and prepped snacks keeps you from rationalizing having stuff you shouldn't. Also, smaller plates help that part of your brain that wants a 'full plate' at meal time. And give yourself weekly or monthly 'treat days' where you get a LITTLE of those things you're not supposed to have on your special diet; it gives you a goal to work toward at first. (Some call them 'cheat' days, but that term is kind of self defeating psychologically, using 'treat' instead makes it a form of positive reinforcement, if you see what I mean.) Not everyone needs it, but some of us do. And let your friends/co-workers/family know not to offer you things you're not supposed to have and not to eat stuff you've cut out or have to save for your 'treat days'. Keeping co-workers, especially, from offering you donuts, candy, etc. at breaks or lunch helps a lot with your willpower - at least early on. You'll develop more willpower as you go, even if it doesn't feel like it at the start. 😁👍🏻
    Thanks for your videos and the channel, overall, Myra (spelling?). So helpful! 😁👍🏻💜

    I do intermitten fasting. I don't eat till 11:30am and then stop at 6pm. This has been a game changer for me. I also try to not eat too much carbs. I also do exercise about 4 to 5 days a week. what is the most beneficial fasting window(in regards to time).....I stop eating around 7 or 8 pm and then don't eat anything until 11am....is that too long? Not long enough? Also, does it have to be firmly the same time every night that you stop or can it be an hour later sometimes? Maybe that is a dumb question but I try to stop at 7pm each night but sometimes life gets in the way and we don't have supper until closer to 7pm or 8 at the latest.

Play some intermittent fasting maybe once a week. Like not eating once you get up until maybe 2:00 in the afternoon.

But if I graze half the day, I'm somehow perfectly satisfied with mostly veggies and fruits and don't crave processed foods. Since these are less calorie dense, I can still end up in deficit or just on target. I do use IF if I know I'll be out socially though. But I'm in maintenance not losing weight mode too. Yes intermittent fasting is the key to get you stared. It helps to in control of your journey and helps to make you feel better. I lost 50 lbs in 9 months. I did intermittent fasting, low cards and high lean protein. It work so fast and my gut feels better then it has in years. My doc took me off my acid reflux medicine. Do your research and try it for two weeks you will be amazed of the results. Also Mira videos and a few other ones help to keep it interesting with the food ideas.

I need ro gain my control and stop emotional eating. Hydration is an issue also by 12pm. I can drink and go straight to the bathroom and my pee is clear.

      Hey. I can relate with you 100%.
      SUGAR is my # 1 nemisis. It is my "demonic" trigger.
      Here is a suggestion that may prove helpful:
      1) go thru your cupboard and get rid of any processed sugar- that reg table sugar.
      Do it NOW. just dump it.
      (That is not sugar in its true state. It is actually poison to the body. It plays havoc with your liver, your insuline levels, your glycemic levels.)
      2) Look at that box of cereal.
      The breakfast aisle of your grocery store is actually less healthier for you than the aisle that has all those spices, oils, flour and sugar.
      How much you wanna bet the cereal aisle contains far larger quanities of processed sugars than the other one!
      So Frosted Flakes, Apple Jack's, even alot of those cereals that claim to be health conscious are loaded with added processed sugars and other chemical crap that you can barely pronounce-
      Again- DUMP IT.
      Take a painful drastic approach-
      do as Mayra did:
      commit to an entire sugar and processed junk food, white bread PURGE.
      I did this a few years ago and replaced that stuff with whole grain foods, lots of veggies, drink plenty of water, cut back on ted meats, added more fish to my diet, some chicken.
      This actually made me lose my cravings for that sweet junk as it made me less hungry, and I completely lost my sugar cravings I had before.
      In addition, natural furits tasted so much better. Veggies tasted so much better.
      And when you add a reg exercise routine with it. Your energy levels will explode.
      Trust me you will not regret it.

    Someone here said they lost 20 pounds after five weeks of fasting? Did I read that right? Maybe I misread that. I did intermittent fasting. Anywhere from 12 to 17 hours of fasting for six weeks straight and loss less than 5 pounds eating two meals a day cutting out all snacks and majority of carbs. But of course I’m older in my late 60s so it is harder. I keep seeing all these people saying they’re dropping weight left and right doing intermittent fasting and it’s not working for me quite as fast. I’m sticking with it though I never in 1 million years thought I could fast for more than eight hours and I found after a week to 10 days that fasting regularly for more than 14 hours was easy. I don’t think I’ve gone more than 18 hours, but it’s a process. It definitelyhelps with the food cravings!

      @@karenknickerbocker9007 at first break it down to two meals a day, no snacking at all in between meals. No breakfast. The window is like 12-2 pm then dinner again within a 4-5 hour period, listen to your body, The idea is to go 12-16 hours no food eventually. If you stick to protein/fat/veg carbs you won't be hungry and can wait. Cut out carbs/sugar like she says. Love came to my feed after watching Dr. Eric Berg on IF/Healthy Keto and how to progress to OMAD, One Meal a Day. I'm still learning, but in 21 days, I've lost 10 lbs. I was a huge sugar, carbs, constant snacking at night, plus 3 meals a day. Not anymore.

    Even if i fast for 16-20 hours , i still overeat, because my calorie allowance is low1000-1400 kcalories depending on how i feel and how much I exercise. I used to be 108-110 pounds, now I'm 120, 5'2". So, it's difficult to lose weight without really starving. I used to have 20-40 grams of carbs a day, counted every calorie, ean 7-10 miles a day, plus weights and walking, basically, lived for exercising. But I was burnt out in the end and very unproductive at all other areas of life. Now, I eat more protein than ever,cannot risk losing these muscles

      @tarkiz 5 месяцев назад +1

      I've read that if you are eating less calories than your basal metabolic rate your body will go into starvation mode and start hanging onto as much fat as possible to survive. I've heard people say the either temp or permanently increase their calories to their bmr and it fixes it.

    • @klevykids
      @klevykids 5 месяцев назад

      @tarkiz true, but I tried eating more, like 1500-1600 and I gain fat right away. So, I'll do the real cut 1200-1400 kcalories with more intense resistance training for about 1-2 months and then I'll try reverse dieting. Maybe I'll eat more 1-2 times a week. All tools tell me to eat 1200-1400 kcalories...so, idk. Something is off, maybe my hormones
