      Yes, there are a number of Japanese expats who work/ live near the Nissan plant. They predominately live out North. Aguascalientes is pretty spread out and there are very distinct differences/ vibe in the various parts of the city which we will be sharing in future videos.

    Aguascalientes is the true geographic center of Mexico (same distance from the extremes, North to South, and West to East), and it happens to be one the the places I spend the most time when I'm in Mexico (because one of my brothers lives here). I'm writing 2 years after your move there. Sorry. I just found you in RUclips, guys, but I already like you. You have a good authentic vibe. I was the one you couldn't remember who guessed you were going to Aguascalientes. Really looking forward to your videos on the place. From other videos, it seems a very livable place, with good quality of life. Hard to tell from videos, but I trust you guys will give us the honest truth as you see it. You always do. All the best and happy trails. Retirement places I was considering included Aguas, SLP, Queretaro, maybe Guadalajara, but I think it's too big for my tastes. All those places have nearly ideal weather according to what I like. I am not into extreme heat and humidity, but I also hate cold weather. These places, though they can get cold during the winter, seem pretty close to perfect. Thanks for doing what you do.

    Another positive thing there is it has a HEB Supermarket which is number one in Texas where I am originally from and has a cult following and starting to do so in the northern half of Mexico too.
    Half of their foods have always been produced in Monterey and so even if a Texas Company, it's a great selection of Food and other items to choose from.

    You made a very wise choice. Prosperous middle class from so many auto manufacturing plants, other manufacturing - yet just "right-sized" city and friendly people. I was there in June and was impressed about how effective their local Govt. has been at making AG so liveable and nice. Very good traffic routing/control. And, IS in
    the middle of everything. 1.5 hours to Zacatecas/ZAC. fascinating city. 2.5 hour to Guadalajara. Short day trips possible to Guanajuato, etc. Good choice too that there
    are less expats there. Sorry to discriminate being a Gringo, but that kind cities to live are better.

    I admire the fact that you chose a city which is not on the best places to retire list. I know that you try to speak Spanish, which is very positive. Sadly, most Americans have no interest and many of them even are against the learning of a foreign language. Less than 1 percent of American adults today are proficient in a foreign language that they studied in a U.S. classroom. Some people are even attacked in the U.S. for speaking a foreign language.

    I recommend giving your temperatures in Celsius as well as Fahrenheit, since it is the most common way to measure temperature outside the U.S. There are few countries that use the Fahrenheit scale: the United States, the Bahamas, Liberia, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands. You can also use Fahrenheit but Celsius (centigrade) should always be included if you want to be international. Few people outside the U.S. have any idea of the value of a Fahrenheit reading.

    This is so funny because this city just popped on my radar due to a cheap flight from ATL, but I was like I may only spend 2 days there until I work out transportation to GTO or SMA. No me pienso pasar mucho rato alli. lol It just seems like a sleepy town and I'm not feeling that. I really didn't even care for QRO over GTO or SMA because I like the hillside views where you can go up on your rooftop terrace and get an unobstructed view of the neighborhood. I haven't checked out a lot of your QRO videos, maybe they have those neighborhoods but it looks too flat for me. I totally feel you guys on the humidity, I'm in the Augusta GA area so I hate to step out early in the morning and it's already hot and muggy. Merida would've been a good spot for me due to cheap flights into Cancun but again that humidity turned me off. I went to Trinidad a few years ago and it was that dry heat so as long as you were in the shade and a nice breeze was passing thru it felt comfortable. However, we're definitely trying to get out of here by June, heading to the land of eternal spring Antigua and then Mexico in the first week of September. I want to spend half the time in SMA just for the novelty of it, but I like hanging with the locals and immersing myself in the language and culture that's where GTO wins for me as a future base, SMA seems too gringolandia. I've watched enough of your videos that it just makes sense to finally sub. lol If you guys in still in AGU went we get there hopefully we can meet up.

    Hey folks, could you comment on the cleanliness of the city. We currently live in Queretaro and as beautiful as it is there are definitely a number of areas that are littered with garbage, plastic containers etc. A good example is Parque Queretaro 2000. This a really nice park but there is a lake within the park that has a lot of garbage floating along the sides. It rather sad and disgusting.

    • @WhyNotNow
      @WhyNotNow  2 года назад +1

      Hi D M, Tha nks for your comment/ question. We know what you are referring to in the lago in Queretaro 2000 Park because we did a video there and towards the middle of the video, showed that ruclips.net/video/2AsiWnFQvfc/видео.html. I will be very honest and tell you that just like in Queretaro (which is a city we love), there are clean/ unclean areas here as well. Unfortunately, that is life no matter where you go in this world (some places are worse than others, Queretaro isn't one of them to be honest). We always see the people in Mexico cleaning their communites on a daily....they show the pride and love they have for their properties/ country but sadly, there will always be a small handful of people who just don't care. We sometimes pick up trash on our way to the dumpster but every now and again some knucklehead will show no regard and litter again.

      We’ll, we are too young to get social security, so we have to show assets. Most of our assets are in my pension and house, but until I elect my choice within the pension (after I quit my job) or sell our house ( after I quit my job) we seem to have just barely enough in other accounts to show enough assets. We must get this done in 2022, because if they raise the amount another 20%, we won’t show enough.
      I can quit my job in 12 months, make my pension election and sell the house, but then we need to move somewhere….no time to take those funds and stick them in accounts for 12 months…..
      We really just wanted to live in our daughters vacation house in Queretaro for a year or two until our senior dogs pass away. After that we hope to slow travel to many countries.
      But…..the need to qualify for a temp visa may drastically change our plans.
      We are going to try….let you know how it goes.

    • @WhyNotNow
      @WhyNotNow  2 года назад +1

      Hi Banana Patch, I'm sure you've already watched the two-part temporary residency videos I did; they provide a very detailed breakdown of necessary documentation, both the consulate & MX INM websites, as well as how to find out what you need to qualify Let me know if you need me to insert the links for you. As stated in the videos, every consulate has their own financial requirements...some more, some less (not sure what consulate office website you checked/ if that particular one has the requirements outlined ~ some are more organized than others).. You can go to any office in any state just make sure they handle visas at the location. As long as you can show you can sustain yourselves in MX for the first year when applying, you can renew annually in Mexico thereafter. Maybe in the meantime you can work through other items you need to close the loop on back home. Also, just some advice...dont let the panic that some are feeding make you anxious: we are hearing a lot about this by means of social media. The one thing that is certain in this life is change; just maneuver as best as possible.
