    Woaw. it's my fifth time following this specific routine. I'm 27 and I started taking my scoliosis seriously 7 years after my diagnostic with some gym (cardio - swimming ..) .. but with this practice, it's something more ! a feeling I haven't had for so many times. guess i'm gonna start yoga sessions regularly for this aching scoliotic attitude I got ! Thank you for your channel Sarah, keep those healing exercice coming. And for those out there suffering from scoliosis as well, never give up, and do never think that your back won't heal. YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR BACK Y'ALL

    Thank you so much. I have a mild curvature diagnosed at 14 and as I have got older(23) I have noticed that as my routine has changed it has effected my back and the pain caused from scoliosis. I have spent silly amounts at private physio who recommended yoga. I was so pleased to see a scoliosis yoga routine and now I see there are even more on your channel, I already feel so much better. Thank you!

    I'm updating after doing this for one year. I have mild scoliosis and disc degeneration. The pain worsened after having a baby. I couldn't lift her for five minutes nor could I stand for more than 15 minutes. Now I don't have back pain anymore. My doc asked me to do low impact aerobics exercise everyday so I have been doing cycling for 30min along with this. He also prescribed vitD and calcium for 3 months. I alternatively do Floor flow(spinal health) 40min video too. That's my daily routine for the past year. I will keep doing this. I end both the videos with supta padangusthasana as I have tight hamstrings,now I can lift my legs to 90 degrees without straps. Thank you so much.

    I really love your channel. i started yoga ages ago because I had loads of lower back pain from my lumbar scoliosis. It's helped me so much and it's improved my posture big time already. I'm very happy there is now a special sequence for this, I can just practice at home behind my laptop. Thanks so much!

    I'm so glad to have found this video! My husband and I have been following you for quite some time now. I loved yoga when I was in school! Sadly I had to quit for some time because of a severe concussion. I still struggle with yoga, because of the concussion and how my spine is twisted, but I'm still hopeful! I know a good bit of this video I'm going to struggle with, but I still can't wait to try it in the morning! Thank you so much! You have helped us both greatly!

    I am glad I rechecked UTube for Yoga for Scoliosis because I found you! I am 67 and have scoliosis. I do not have discomfort but my daughter noticed that it was getting worse from my posture. I am doing your video (s) 3 times a week along with other yoga and am hoping to strenghten my back to keep it from progressing. I will keep watching for new additions to your Scoliosis playlist. Thank you!!

    I was recently ill and had to take a week out of college which meant I didn't get any time to do yoga at all which I usually do regularly. It was normally on a daily basis but after being bed-ridden for so long I lacked motivation. I hate being still for so long, I feel like I am being lazy and under-achieving and now I'm getting back into it I feel like all my muscles have tightened up and I can hold poses for less amounts of time, especially in downwards dog which is unusual for me. I started with this and i think this has got me back into the flow of things so thank you!!! :)

    All I can say is thank you. I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis recently, and I was having to go into see the Chiropractor every other day, and I wasn't really seeing any change, but after doing this video I feel so great and relaxed! It was difficult, but I'm more aware of my weaknesses now and know what I need to work on. I'll be doing this more!

    Hi SarahBeth!
    I commented on this video about a year ago because the practice feels so good to do (even if i couldn't do the three-legged downward dog knee circles). Well, after 6 months or more (!?) of doing other videos and actually slowly developing my own personal practice (yay!), I came across this video and decided to do it again. You know what?
    It felt AMAZING!
    I've been doing a lot of hamstring and hips recently, and I didn't realise how tense my back was getting until I did this practice again. I could even do the knee circles comfortably! It's amazing coming back to something after a long time and feeling the progress I have made. Thanks again for doing this practice. This is honestly the video that changed my back health for the better :D

    • @sarahbethyoga
      @sarahbethyoga  8 лет назад +9

      Thank you for commenting to let me know your progress! Keep up your practice because even on the days where it feels like you're not doing much you're at least maintaining the strength, mindfulness and flexibility that you've worked so hard to build :)

    Sara Beth, thank you. I used to live at a yoga center in Massachusetts, we did yoga every day, but that was more than 20 years ago. I need to get back into a regular practice, (my back reminds me), and I am especially grateful for the quality video that we just did together. You have an excellent teaching method and the voice for it as well. Namaste.

    I know this is one of your older videos, but Thank You! I've been searching for a routine I can do regularly as I build up my fitness level and help alleviate my lower back pain and this is it. There are a few parts I couldn't hold (the knee raises and side planks), but I know I can grow into them.
    Thanks Again.

      Jui Ianne Bacay Haha, I was just 12 when I had to get a major procedure for my scoliosis. It was so bad that I DID notice something was wrong, even though no one else had. I had 11 vertebrae fused. It's a bitch, but it isn't the end of the world. I'm 18 now and doing all sorts of crazy bendy yoga stuff. You'll be fine, my love. S'all good. No worries, but praying for you anyway. :)

      World statistics say that only 3 percent of the world population have scoliosis, and I think it's not true. The problem is that people actually can't find out they have it until it's too late :(

    Hi Sarah Beth, I never leave a comment to a video, but this time I really wanted to thank you! I have a mild scoliosis, and keep having back pain (mild and sever - lower left, then after some exercises and visits to the physiotherapist upper right, then after some exercises and visits to the physiotherapist lower left, etc.). Some of these yoga poses look like poses from my physiotherapist. I have only practiced these exercises twice and I already feel like my back gets stronger, both sides. Thank you again and keep up with the good work.

    I've been going through your videos almost daily for about a month now. I really appreciate your style (not too much on the woo-woo train) and that your videos are often by focus. This routine really helps loosen some of the muscles scoliosis disturbs alongside neck and shoulder routines. My back had a painful tweak when transitioning from the cat pose to cow pose, however. Ouch. Wonder if there is a stretch I can do to work that muscle beforehand to avoid that.

Focus on keeping your core strong and engaged throughout your vinyasa practices and be mindful to have plenty of balance between strengthening and releasing tension :) I'm so glad you found this video!

    I have 2 spine curves: 6° and 18° and I hope that this will correct it before it gets worse. Thank you!

    Hi guys! 4 years ago I had 22degree dextroscolio. I enrolled to yoga class for beginners and also do workouts at home without thinking much about my scolio. I decided to have an appointment with an ortho just few weeks ago because I want to try some deep back bends. guess wat, my curve went down to 14.10. I hope doing yoga helps you guys too. :😊

    Hi, Ι am 23 years old and I have a small curve at my lower thoracic spine(concave to the right and rotation to the left) that had been measured 9 degrees when I was 15/16. I haven't had my curve measured since but it looks and feels the same. My problem is that I feel a limitation when I try to breath deeply using only my diaphragm. I had visited an orthopaedic doctor and some time later a physical therapist because I had back and hip pain at the time. They both told me that what I had isn’t really a big deal and that basically I should just exercise to keep a good posture. The physical therapist had said that I could take part in whatever sport or fitness activity I like. None of them had mentioned anything about breathing limitations. During these years I’ve played sports at times without problems, but currently I don’t feel comfortable when I try to exercise. My spine is however flexible in all movements and I rarely have musculoskeletal pains.What excercise do you recommend? Thank you

    I loved this! Do you have any for hips? The last two vertebrae above my pelvis are twisted, and its messed up a lot of muscles in my lower back, hips, and legs.

    • @sarahbethyoga
      @sarahbethyoga  7 лет назад

      Yes! I have a ton of hip opening videos like the "gentle hip opening" "deep hip opening" "Low back pain yoga practice" and the "yoga for sciatica" videos would all be great. But definitely make sure you're cleared for exercise by your doctor before attempting any exercise that could possibly strain or exacerbate :)

      Hi arusyak.. Have you undergone surgery for your scoliosis.?I have also had bad scoliosis and undergone surgery 9 years ago.. But I wish to do yoga.. Do you think I can follow this practice?

    • @ArusHarutyunyan
      @ArusHarutyunyan 4 года назад

      @@hibabasheer4121 I haven't undergone surgery. But I think you should talk to your doctor. At least show him or her the video. They know the best. All the good to you!!!! 💪 By the way, why do you want to do scoliosis yoga years after surgery? It hasn't improved?

    • @hibabasheer4121

      @@ArusHarutyunyan thank you for your kind words.. After surgery it has improved really well as they have fixed full length titanium rods but still I get pain during long periods of work.. And after starting yoga my breathing cycle also has improved really well.. Which was my reason to start yoga session.. Longer breaths were usually kinda difficult as I have never bothered to force my body to anything fearing how would it react after surgery.. And now body is not flexible which I hope can be changed with yoga practice. When I spoke with doctor last year.. he said I can do yoga to an extent as many years have passed by, the rod behind has already become part of my body.

      @@hibabasheer4121 ohhh I see~ YOU CAN DO THIS! YESSSS. If you work on it, your body can become flexible again 😊 and it's good to hear your doctor let you do yoga. As for me, our doctors are not trustworthy. So we ask more than one doctor sadly. If you have no trust issues with your doc, all the good wishes to you! Stay safe and healthy 🙏

    I have EDS, which is the cause of my scoliosis, and I'm trying to do these poses, but my body is so flimsy, that it just ends up hurting. The video helped a little bit with the mid section of my back, but my lower back and shoulders did not agree. This video would be really helpful for most, but because of my EDS, I need extremely low impact exercises that won't destroy my joints. I'll keep trying it for the next week or two though, and hopefully if I take it REALLY slow, it'll work better for me.
