The Germans always were masters at engineering things to be the hardest and most difficult to work on.

Just got done with changing mine.
Warning to others, at 1:08 he moves the snap ring to the bottom and damages the tube thingy. If you're able to, move it UP instead (assuming you have room). In the video doesn't look like he has room to do that, not his fault.
BUT when he puts the tube back 4:52, I don't think he had to shove the tube ALL the way up there. Leave a bit of room so that next time you have to take that snap ring off, you'll have extra space next time to put the snap ring UP onto the stronger/more rigid tube instead of DOWN onto the flexible/soft concordia tube thingy.
LIke how this dude does it

Everything else was spot on in the video for me. TY!

ALSO try to keep the snapring prong part where you squeeze it with the pliers CENTERED when you let go of it.
If it rotates too much to the left or right, your pliers might hit the walls and you won't have enough room to be able to grab those prongs until you have to take off the whole housing and rotate it lol like I had to.

THe rubber becomes so brittle from the heat/weather I don't think there's any way you can take it off safely. I'll have to replace one of my grommets

I don't think I'll have the local Valvoline place do this! Going to a shop familiar with these steps.

@@603Mechanicvids Oh I think they mean the part your grab at 0:55. It has a sensor on my 06 Rabbit that is connected to that circular corner on the right side. Probably a California emissions thing
