Nicely done Steve you are a man of many talents as I really didn't think you had enough glue there for that mirror but it seems to have worked well👏if that was me doing the repair I would have probably used a blowtorch and a crowbar and ended up with 20 small mirrors 🤦‍♂🤠🤣

Cheers John, I’m surprised that it didn’t shatter 😦 but it turned out well.
I was not impressed with the glue! It was clearly starting to go off in a sealed packet, a new packet would have been the perfect amount to do this job though to be far.
I do try and do most things myself it’s so much more satisfying than paying someone else to do it.
I liked your director comment on one of your wings I had to get that one in on my bad filming 🤣😂🤣
Cheers mate hope all is well with you.

Yeah I was watching that with my fingers crossed🤞😬you do a good job looking after your cars Steve I used to enjoy looking after my old Cortina's but these days it's hard work.
I was going to say in my first comment that you must have used the same directors that I used for editing my videos, bunch of cowboys🤠🤣😉
I'm ok mate thanks just busy lately looking after Sonia, hope you are ok mate🙏👍

Cheers Steve, another little thing to look out for on mine. Mines on 130K now, recently replaced the clock ring squib behind steering wheel - ribbon cable ripped out. Also done the glow plugs and relay- do both at same time if you do yours, I learned the hard way, also make sure head has some heat in it so the plugs have a chance of coming out, thankfully mine were OK. Also had a cracked front spring last month, had both changed at garage. All age and wear and tear.
I did the brake fluid on the Cav last weekend too, your video spurred me on, it all went fine, no seized nipples 😂
I also had to replace the distributor last year as mine suffered same fault as yours. I'm going to fix the original though with a new bearing coz I don't think the copy unit is a good as the original bosch.
Keep up the vids mate, you give folk confidence to crack on and have a go !!!! 👍

Hi Paul, thank you for all the information, I think the squib on most cars can go, I remember reading these going on the Vectra B. I was disappointed with the mirror but it is a common fault so it must be an age thing good thing yours is still ok 👍
I know I have a glow plug going or gone, as I have seen a code come up a couple of times over the years when I reset the service light, I scan the car just to keep an eye on things and a glow plug comes up, I will replace the relay when I do the plugs as I would do all 4 plugs at the same time. Thanks for the tip on getting the engine hot don’t definitely worth doing that!
I know the Diesel MK3 Cavaliers and Astras you change the relay, didn’t know that they are weak on the VW stuff as well.
Thanks for the comment on the videos that’s why I do this stuff to give others the confidence, as you can see I’m no expert at all, just want others to have ago I’ve learned as I have gone along so if it encourages at least one person that makes my very happy 😃
Cheers Paul! Hope all is ok with you mate.
