    Better off getting something that can take a bit of punishment. The rhino racks are pretty flimsy for how expensive they are. for show not for go. I like it I think

    Put a bar light on the front of the rack and it will resolve the gap look. Height however for your garage ???

      I think I might under sling a single row 50” to tie it all together

    I went with a 51" Bush Ranger light bar, good quality, done 25,000km including lots of corrugations.
    Fills the front nicely looks good and quietens the wind noise a little.
    When are you wrapping the dash?
    Get rid of the hideous plastic wood!

    Hey mate great vid just quickly how did the backbone hold up ? I saw in your later video that you have removed them was that due to quality or just wanted to go back factory look

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  Год назад +1

      Hey mate it held up great, the only reason I removed it is I wasn’t really using it and it was a pain to clean the roof

    Curious mate, now you have the ECC spring lift and the roof rack, how high does she sit now ? not much room into the garage, just want an idea so I know whether to take to my garage opening with a chainsaw to fit when my mods are done :)
    Great vid again :)
    Cheers

    Thanks for sharing your experiences it's always a great help to all of us.
    This time though I think you should have gone with something like a rhino, I think the tigh down option on your rack looks flimsy. I would like to see something more solid on the old girl

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад

      I definitely wouldn’t go rhino after all the tylzzz drama.
      It’ll be interesting to see how this holds up, it’s definitely not the best quality but it’s not terrible either

    Nice one bud. Just enough room to get it in the garage haha. Be good to hear how it goes noise wise on a big trip. I like the wedge tail roof racks. Probably be my next choice.

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад

      Thanks mate, it definitely makes a little more noise when it’s on the highway for a long time. I like the look of the wedge tail. It was actually my second opinion ✌️

    The rack on backbone is a good set up and looks good, more importantly you will be able to carry things when you need to 🤙🏼

    Not bad for 500 bucks, and it looks pretty good. I've found the mesh is a pain in the arse. Even with a high pressure wash the roof will never be as clean again, unless you like undoing the, umm 32 bolts. Like to see how it holds up with a load in off road conditions. Yes I agree with Marty the gap at the front will look better filled with a slim line light bar. How you finding the reception with the mirror mounted UHF aerial. Enjoy watching the build, what's next.

    Would be good to see long term mate. I got the Trailmax which looks tuff an solid but was hard to find awning brackets. My lights make a whistle sound as there spaced about 2mm apart on top but I’ll silicone that gap one day lol. Definitely get a light bar under the front rail. Plus running cable down the front through that strip an down the inside of the window trim an out in the engine bay from passenger side is easy. Cheers Matti (Odin62)

    Hey mate
    Do u have any pictures of the awning mounted up?

  • @martyma3244
    @martyma3244 2 года назад +1

    Yeah mate at half the price I reckon it looks the goods a light bar and you won't even notice the gap

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад

      Thanks mate. I started looking at 50” single row to fill the gap. I’m thinking that’ll clean the front up

    Looks great man. That mesh must be an absolute pain with cleaning though. I'm wondering how it's held up as I have one of their racks that's been sitting in my shed for a few years waiting to be fitted. I couldn't find anything for my Jeep at the time so had to buy something for another model vehicle and modify it. I am presently making custom stainless steel brackets for it.

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  Год назад

      It definitely is a pain to clean under, I actually took it off. I braced the back bones to hold my awning and left them on only. For the price though the quality was fine.

    Another good video mate.
    Waiting for the big girl to arrive next year. Never had a Nissan before. Only Toyota...
    Looking at a rack in phase 1 of the build. Had gotten down to dash vs arb base.
    Where’d you get this one from?

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад +2

      Thanks mate ✌️
      I had a good history with Toyota prior to this, I’m not overly brand biased. I love the 62 for so many reasons.
      Both dash and arb are great options. I think the base rack looks awesome.
      I just got this online. I had planned to ditch the rack and run alloy extrusions on the back bones. I’m going to give it a chance before I start doing something custom myself.

    • @HappyGoTravel
      @HappyGoTravel  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate it seems fine. It definitely save the roof when did Grees Break Rd. Depending on how the wind blows there is some road noise but nothing unbearable. Really for $500 you can’t complain.
