Hi Mate, great find and video is well done. My question is, Can the backbone be used alone with an already bought roof rack? I have a Yakima platform but fixed to my standard roof rail mounts utilizing the Yakima brackets that sit on the standard rails. Can the backbone be purchased separately? Great work
yup, i have stood on mine multple times, but if your planning on standing on it for a period of time, id look at getting a board to lay across the individual rails to distribute the load
Hey mate just saw this video as I am looking to buy a similar roof rack, and was just wondering how is it going since you uploaded the video? Any issues or comments on it. Cheers
Hi mate, very good buy on the roof platform. Just wanted to know if you used anything to fill in the roof gutter or left it exposed? And it would of been nice to see the hole Dmax with the platform on from different angles just to see how it looked.
I do my as well but i use silicon 227 sikaflex from super cheap and do around holes to cover from water. It’s easy and silicon is around $20 . Extra protection.
it is super easy, it helps having a second person putting the platform on the roof. i used cardboard to lay down on the roof so i didnt damage it, because i was doing it by myself
its been great, no issues and because it was significantly cheaper than others, i have no problem with drilling into it because i have less care about damaging it, if that makes sense
I have installed a similar roof rack but unsure what mount options there are for these as there is nowhere i can see to slide channel nuts ontop? Any ideas
i use a drill/ grinder to widen the channels in a small section to fit in the channel nuts. i didnt have a problem doing this as its a "cheap" roof platform. its easy enough to do, just make the slots a little longer than what the channel nut is, hope this helps
a little bit of rust on the cheap washers and bolts they used, but its still holding up great. really happy with it . the thing i liked about it most was that it was cheap so i was happy to screw into it and make cuts where i needed to and it didnt matter, but it is still holding up really strong, thanks for asking
@@TheInsightDistrict completely agree! Shows that these brands just slap a big price tag on it for a named branded version. Are you able to use normal slotted attachments?
A roof rack like that for under $500 is awesome!, looks good too!
i think it was an awesome buy, rather happy with it
Thats a wicked discovery mate
Gonna use this on my xterrain
Hey mate, looking at getting this brand for my LDV. Your video has swayed me to try this brand! Did it come with instructions?
Dude that’s sick! Great work 🤘🏾
Glad you like it!
Good vid bud. Not bad roof platform for the price.
it has served me well so far, pretty happy with it
Keep up the great content 🤙
i am trying, its just hard trying to film and work at the same time, but hopefully i can get more out soon, thanks for the feedback
Looks great but I've always wondered, how do people clean under these?
I can get a sponge between the bars, I have tried with a flat microfibre mop as well
@@TheInsightDistrict awesome, thanks for the reply
great buy for that money 👍🏼
yea it was, i couldnt justify spending alot more then that

its a universal backbone so i assume there would be something out there. have a look in facebook groups and see if anyone has done anything similar
Great video!
Whats the final height of the car after adding platform ?
not too sure, havent measured the ute
Hey mate loved the video just wondering if is strong enough to stand on?

its going great, no dramas with it at all
How did I end up in Australian RUclips? I don't feel down under! Thanks for posting.
Haha, RUclips works in mysterious ways! 😂 . Glad you found the video helpful - cheers for watching, mate! 👍
Hi there, I have a 2022 D max X terrain will this fit on mine?
Should do
Hi mate, very good buy on the roof platform. Just wanted to know if you used anything to fill in the roof gutter or left it exposed? And it would of been nice to see the hole Dmax with the platform on from different angles just to see how it looked.
i just left them exposed because they are painted and you dont really see them

been looking at one these for my canopy. How far apart are the mounts from each other?
im unsure, but if your canopy roof is larger than the platform it should be fine
Hey mate looking to grab the same one, any update after a while?
Also curious to hear what you usually load on the racks
its great. the washers under the bolts are a little rusty, other then that its great
all different stuff. stuff for camping, helping people move house, containers, have had no issues with loading yet
do you think these could be cut down to fit a super cab?
The platform probably can, but the backbone rails might present a problem.
agree with this, you might be able to , but i don't know what the structural integrity would be like
Thinking I’m going to have a crack at this mate thanks for the vid too stuff

How noisy is it on the hwy?
its not too bad, i would say its comparable to other roof platforms
How has it gone since you installed it? Would you do it again
absolutely would do it again, its been awesome for me
Hey mate, planning to get similar roof rack. How is it going since your installation? No rust?
its been great, no issues and because it was significantly cheaper than others, i have no problem with drilling into it because i have less care about damaging it, if that makes sense
hey mate do you find cleaning the roof with the roof racks. do you still have enough space to dry it up after cleaning?
Will this fit a Nissan navara np300?
im sure there is one that will
How much extra height did it put on your SUV?
it only puts on about 100 to 150mm
Is this doable if you have a vehicle without rails, just have the tracks with plastic strips covering them.
that depends if there is bolt holes or not
@@TheInsightDistrict yes have checked, do have bolt holes.

Me to man 😂 I am looking for options. Will see. Some one will come up with something.

Two yrs on, how is going ?? Rusty, flimsy or all good??
Be interested to hear

How is it holding up mate? Getting my Dmax in 6 weeks and thInking of getting this
its awesome and does what i need it too, because its cheap i dont care if i drill into it or scratch it so i find that a benefit as well

Holden Colorado可以裝嗎
nice
Hey mate. Is your car a 2020+ dmax
yea it is 2021 X terrain
Nice! can you share how you got the discount code please?
it wasnt specific to the buyer, i think it was just a ebay promotion at the time
No slots for eye bolts? Hmm unless you need to dismantle
nah no slots, i just cut my own
@@TheInsightDistrict hey mate how did you cut your own any video thansk
How you cut slots for eyebotls mate. I got same one on my ute and thinking how to mount awning without slot. Mihht use grinder to cut ?
@@TuanHuynh-og8fy use drill bits 2-3 m bigger than sloths but don’t drill holes just tops. Make wade.
Yeah not bad
its good for the price i payed for it
