Would love for a part 2 based more on TIP, (mainly because it gives out more mysteries that are set up in the first game like how two biomes the Piñarctic and dessert desart can be seen but 2 other biomes this being the jungle and mountains are unused ) also Fudgehog's Romanced
There’s also the cut aquatic zone and platypus piñata as well. Also the implication that the endgame pinata in trouble in paradise isn’t a real animal but instead a creation of tinkering magic.
2:05 in the cartoon (which is kind of canon to the games) Professor Pester created said candy to run pinata central out of business due to people disliking sour candy, however the sour piñatas were way too unstable to use, so Pester just let them run around causing chaos. Langston does appear physically in trouble in paradise and there was a cut cameo of Fergy fudgehog and the cartoon characters appear in pocket paradise so it’s probably just a case of one side of the island being full of sentient Pinatas and the side in the games being with non sentient piñatas. Also I’m surprised you didn’t mention Banjo and Kazooies adventures on Pinata island since that’s a fun bit of trivia.
Good video! I've actually never played this game, but it looks pretty fun! Rareware games always seem to have some really creative and interesting lore behind them!
@@wearywanderer1912 Yeah, same here. I didn't like when Rare went to Microsoft way back when, but it seems Rare was still putting out some good games on the XBox/360. I still might have to check out Viva Pinata, Kameo, that Perfect Dark sequel and Grabbed By the Ghoulies at some point.
Honestly, if anyone was secretly The Baron, I think it would be Pester, after all they both specialize in mutating ordinarily harmless beings into monsters, Furthermore he is the only human character with a mask that fully conceals his identity.
This video was interesting to watch as well, because I have heard of Viva Pinata but once again another game I have never played. The game looks cool though.
i remember when i was still fairly young and the xbox was on commercials all the time, they hyped the shit out of this game sooo bad. it almost made me buy an xbox. literally 1 year later, never heard from this game ever again.
@@retrorobbyreviews it’s really fun! Honestly. An easy game to drop a couple hours in. I’m excited to try trouble in paradise I hear it’s this game but with some QOL upgrades and more content!
The Ivor voice thing actually might result from a very weird place. I don't have this 100% confirmed, but I believe that it's universal across ALL Npcs that the voice actor who produced their grunting sound effects is different to whoever did their spoken lines. There are some other cases where a difference between the two is pretty noticable, notably Professor Pester, Seedos, and Storkos. So I think thats just a byproduct of that. Unfortunately, the game has incredibly limited voice acting credits so its hard to exactly pin down whats going on with a lot of it. Langston's existence is also super weird, in general the show is just so completely different from the games tonally and I have no idea why the two were marketed as a singular thing so often, and imo elements of the show that end up in the game are generally negative, with the exception of getting some 4kids voice talent. I don't dislike the show but I really dont like how the games, particularly vp1, have so much of stuff from the show just shoved in randomly. I do like the completely nonsensical inclusion of Langston though, he's just as unfitting as everything else from the show but his execution as an actual character in the game's universe is so perfectly perplexing and stupid that it wraps around to being great.

@@smashers6971 the fact the Journal outright says this makes it better
In the cartoon series, they came back, but completely battered and damaged. They even live, when their heads got ripped off.
This game would be perfect for the Switch
It absolutely would
Happy that someone is still talking about this gem
@@jordan.w241 heck yeah!! Viva Pinata! Want to cover the sequel at some point too!

We really do!!

Came here to say the same. I've always had some prejudice towards Microsoft Era games but this video caught my interest.

That would make sense from the monster perspective. The only thing is the baron is really tall. I like the connections I made 😂 but who knows.

Trouble in paradise is essentially the same as the original Viva Pianta except you start out with everything you need instead of working your way up.
