Rare (haha get it) to see lots of people say not only that they've played this game but enjoyed it too!! Always liked this one more for the music than DKR, loved that one more for the story. Still have my N64 and just to show how dedicated to this game I was, someone once stole it and then I i bought it again just to keep forever. Love still playing all my classic games on N64.

Fun tidbit: You can use an older version of Project64 on Win7 and use iz3D to enable SBS 3D on a 3D LCD TV. With this, you can play creepy castle's minecart and enjoy some stunning visuals, namely the large ghost that follows you throughout the ride. It's too bad they didn't include a bonus anaglyph mode for this level (to use red/blue glasses). Despite that, playing it in full color on a 3D TV is an awesome experience, even though it's only possible through emulation and iz3D years after.

I used to own this game. I managed to 100% it, too. My one critique is that you don’t get to visit much of the USA. I suppose you can only fit so much data on a n64 cartridge, so I shouldn’t expect one track for all 50 states. Still, did we really have to revisit California 3 times!?

Shadow is not faster than Sonic, and here's why. 1: He needs rocket shoes to even keep up with Sonic. Without them, he ain't keeping up with him 2: Sonic battle is not good enough evidence because it's a fighting game from the 2000s that is surely outdated compared to the 2010 and 2020 Sonic and his shoes would clock at that speed and the only way he can go faster is if he removed all 4 of his rings. 3: Sonic is not fast because of his shoes like Shadow, he is naturally fast, and at best they are equal in speed, but Sonic can surpass that anytime, but it's mostly stated they are equal in speed but still. And if we wanna mention a speed boost for Shadow with his rings, what about Sonic than because in Frontiers, it is shown he can go even faster with the electric boost shown there. 4: If we want to go even further, it's said Sonic gets faster and stronger by the second in Sonic Forces, so we can argue that if they were the same speed, then Sonic would surpass him in speed by now.

The thing is: it is boring. So much backtracking, so many confusing areas in worlds, you just get bored. Kazooie was simpler and… better.

idc if people hate it. i love this buggy mess of a game no matter what people say. if there are only 100 fans of the game im one of them. if theres 10 fans im one of them. of theres only 1 fan im it. if there's no fans then im dead. edit: no i did not get 101%, i got closer to 85% iirc. still plenty fun tho. only real complaint is the mechanical fish sucked lol

I always see this game when people talk about Rare but this might be the first video I’ve seen discuss it.

7:00 - You kinda blew past the character chatter, but I really liked that aspect. It was really cool hearing the characters call each other out by name when dealing or taking hits, especially for the N64. Having this only extend to the six starting characters was a bit disappointing, but I enjoyed that this feature was there at all.
