    Why did you say that the Japanese Straightening Treatment had formaldehyde (@46-48 sec), that is incorrect. It is the Brazilian Keratin Blowout that contains formaldehyde.

    I've been to hair IB like 3 or 4 years ago and 5 years ago and they're amazing. I live in jersey, about 10 minutes from the gwb (George Washington bridge), so the drive is not so bad to queens. Glad to see someone on RUclips mentions them. They deserve all the credit.

    This was such a great informative video! I've been debating between all three treatments, but this information definitely has confirmed for me that I want the Japanese straightening as I am looking for a dramatic change. Here in South Florida the price is about 400! And hardly anyone does the Japanese straightening, all the rage is the keratin straightening, which it sounds like I really don't want as it is more temporary and more of a smoothing treatment. Thanks so much for your links and for this video! I can't believe it doesn't have more views. But I will definitely share with others!

    Hi, thank you for the video... My hair, like yours naturally, is very curly and a pain to maintain and am looking at permanently straightening it!!! I'm glad that you've described the process of the Japanese and Brazilian (as these are the two options I am looking)... Your insight was very helpful... Thank you!!! :)

    I can’t wait to get this done! My hair is so so thick & curly and frizzy , I spend 3-4 hours straightening it cause I also have hair extensions. My hair stays straight not even half a day in my climate! It’s so annoying ! So thankful for this review cause now I can’t wait to get it done ! Thankyou

    shecriedpeace you should "Research" the Rejuvenol 1 hour keratin treatment...I've been using it for years now and I absolutely love it. My hair is just like yours...You rinse it out after just one hour, so there is no 2-4 wait with putting your hair up in a ponytail or tucking it behind you ears...the Rejuvenol brand has different keratin treatments so make sure it's the "1hr" one. This was the first one I tried and I have not wanted to use anything else...you can still color your hair as well : )

    Hi. Thanks for your video. I live in Orange County, California & decided to have this procedure done next Thursday. I only found 4 places in OC & I'll be paying $600 :( My hair is to my waist.... Hair below shoulders / middle of back is $400. I wonder now if I should of looked for a place in LA instead of OC. :( However, already put $200 deposit down. MY salon time is from 12-6pm. OUCH!!!!!!! Wish me luck. Btw, your hair looks beautiful! :)

    I think my hair has been healthier and more soft/moisturized with it. I do it for 45 minutes. I think the people who complain about their hair getting damaged should've done it for probably 10 minutes less than what they have because like this woman when she showed her natural hair I would've done it for 20 minutes and she might describe it as resistant but really that's more for African type hair because my hair has been the healthiest ever been with the straightening treatment. i've even colored it in between sessions, I do my roots every 2 to 3 months. I have not had any hair fall out and the first time I did it my hair had been relaxed six months prior and that really made my hair fall out and get dry but putting the Japanese straightening on top of relaxed hair actually made it so much better and nothing fell out I even tried again the second and third time but for five minutes on the rest of my hair just to make sure it relaxed straight again because it was damaged from the relaxer and did frizz up more but didn't get curly

    i think the main thing people should focus on when wanting to get any treatment is your type of hair, my hair is very curly very frizzy and it never ever stays straight soo i always have unrealistic expectations and if your hair is like mine it will probably never stay stick straight with any perm done, i have gotten them all the japanese one, the keratin the anti curl and nothing has ever worked to the point that i just wake up and go, i still have to straighten it and it still waves soo its very sad lol because they are very expensive but of course they do help out, so be realistic !!

    I'm scared to do this treatment if it damage the hair & I take good care of my hair & it's really long now I never had a treatment done so it will be my first ... And only I just want to try and see how I will like it.. Still debating but I won't keep getting it done like you..? After 6 years of U getting it done it's damaged u mean.. What about for people just starting with natural thick hair? I mean I take very good care of my hair I shampoo every 3 days I deep condition & hot oil treatments I don't trim my ends never but from root to tip is very healthy and strong if I did this treatment will my hair fall out when. Brushing it or will it damage my hair I think not I think when people do this they keep doing it and not taking good care of they hair ? And there's no one in my state who does it but I did see it on Amazon for 60 or 70$ but skeptical to do this first Chemical treatment on my hair ( again) I never had a relaxer this will be my first time I'm waiting for your. I personally just got it done for the third time and got a Brazilian blowout I would say 2 1/2 months ago. I did not experience much hair loss from the first two treatments but this time around my scalp got super inflamed and caused my hair to start falling out pretty dramatically. It has been a few weeksSince I got the treatment and my hair is still falling out pretty excessively. Honestly I’m afraid to even touch it

    Thank you for the video, it's informative and I liked the comparison. However, what's the difference between Japanese Straightening and the Permanent Straightening?
    Also, can you curl it and use heat or that will mess with it ?
    Is it possible to straighten it but use some big curlers in the process so it will become wavy instead of just straight?

    • @LauraCatella
      @LauraCatella  9 лет назад +1

      Hey Carla, Japanese Straightening and Permanent Straightening are the same thing!
      And you can ABSOLUTELY curl it however you like once it's straightened. My hair holds a curl for a long time -- big curls, tight curls, whatever.

Question though: mar 21 did Japanese straightening perm..2-3 days later when its time to wash my hair, the inside of my hair becomes kinky again but the outside is still straight, so i went back to the salon and the stylist told me to come back Mar 28 and she will fix it by re-doing the hair... Is this method safe that in one week's time, i will go through the whole procedure again???? Im scared my hair will just be DEAD! Please help!!!

    Are all Japanese relaxers the same? and do you still have to flat iron/blow dry your hair (not just growth) or does it look like that after it dries on its own? (especially at the beginning)

    • @AA-xy2qu
      @AA-xy2qu 7 лет назад +1

      You do not have to blow dry or straighten your hair after you get the Japanese hair straightening. Just the grow outs needs to be maintained. You do lose a lot of hair. Kinda like, when you dye your hair. You lose a lot! But then your hair goes back to shedding averagely. So your hair doesn't look the same in the sense that it's thinner. However it is the same straightness as the final product (:
      Hope that helped!

    I think this is great.. But my hair naturally has GREAT volume when I straighten and blowdry it.. kinda scared to lose that. Plus I keep reading online from people how harsh this treatment is on your hair and it honestly makes me scared to go bald or something. Huge fear of mine.. Ive just had rotten luck with my honestly and Im tired of being a lion. Keratin doesnt seem like itd do enough for me though either since i just want my hair straight... What should I do? >_

    • @LauraCatella

      Marisela Rodriguez I would be cautious if you have very little hair. Find a salon that SPECIALIZES in this treatment with great reviews on GOOGLE PLUS (I don't fully trust Yelp) and ask them... they might recommend a Brazilian instead. The Brazilian lasts a long time, until you have new growth, but it only SOFTENS the hair, not straighten it. Hope this helps!

      shes been dong it to her hair for six years plus it is normal for a person to shed their hair and if you do take care of your hair after the process it will get healthier eventually plus you could trim the spilt ends. And no your hair will me straight forever as if you woke up everyday and straightened it there will be no more curly or waves, but your hair will grow back curly but the part that had the treatment will forever be straight. i hope this helps ☺

If you're like me, and you've had reds, bleach, and heat damage, then you might struggle. But there's always small trims and oils that can help your hair healthy again. Before getting this, definitely make your hair healthy by conditioning it and not using any harsh chemicals (sulfate, silicone, bleach ect) and also avoid heat!!!

      Can they ethnic hair?? Curly to coarse hair?

    • @LauraCatella
      @LauraCatella  10 лет назад

      Tatiana Talavera Absolutely -- that is their specialty. My hair is very thick and coarse and they've always taken great care of me. When you go in, you'll see that all the girls getting their hair done have ethnic/coarse hair. They'll also consult with you beforehand so you know exactly what you're getting into. Hope that helps! :)

    I believe the place in Queens is is referring to is IB Hair. They charge $150 for any length of hair and they specialize in jhs, brazilian, etc. I have an appt tomorrow with them for Jhs. Check out pocahontas-secrets.blogspot.com she talks about hair IB. They also have a youtube page.
