  • What’s up babes?
    Aren’t we all seeking stronger, healthier hair? Well, protein treatments and Olaplex No. 3 have been CRITICAL in fortifying my hair and repairing the damage I put it through. My poor strands :(
    In today’s video we will be discussing the differences between protein treatments and Olaplex No. 3 and how each of them work for texlaxed hair. Understanding the distinctions between the two can be confusing, so today we’re going to break it down!
    I highly suggest incorporating a protein treatment along with Olaplex into your relaxed hair journey / texlaxed hair journey. It has really helped me retain length and maintain long healthy relaxed hair!

    This is the best explanation I've heard on broken bonds and bond treatment. Most RUclipsrs just say it "repairs the broken bonds in your hair" or "it rebuilds the bonds" without any explaining what bonds even are, leaving some of us even more confused!

Olaplex every two weeks wash or once a month in winter 3. Alpha G as needed every other month or once a month. My daughter LOVES color so she does the Olaplex more often 💕 great info

    Olaplex behaves like protein on my hair, so I add moisture after. As far as protein treatments, they should be done as needed not on a schedule. Protein treatments are like medicine for the hair. You don’t take medicine if you’re not sick. I would only use a protein treatment after a chemical service or if your hair needs it. Once the problem is corrected, there is no need to keep adding protein. For example, my shampoo and conditioner has enough protein in small amounts to keep my hair balanced. There is no need for me to add more protein on top of that on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.

    • @roxyc.6825
      @roxyc.6825 3 года назад +15

      I agree, but some of us need protein on a monthly basis - my hair definitely does.

    • @jones2277
      @jones2277 2 года назад +11

      a protein treatment doesn't "correct" your hair. damaged hair cannot be "corrected." it has to be cut off. a protein treatment is more like a band-aid. it bonds to your hair and temporarily fills the gaps in the damaged hair cuticle. this reduces breakage and helps you to retain length as your hair grows out.. since the treatment is temporary, you do need to be on some sort of regular schedule (every 4 weeks, for example), and you can keep trimming the damaged ends as healthy hair is coming in.

    So since Olaplex works internally does it not bond new proteins to the hair shaft? I was curious if pairing Olaplex with Aphogee would be able to actually mend the hair beyond temporarily filling the gaps. Obviously hair is just dead keratin so it cant be “healed” but if Olaplex does as it says Ive wondered if it at least can make protein treatments last longer by holding new proteins in the broken areas for longer periods of time.

The top of my hair is straight and silky but the underneath side is spiral curls the hair stands are so thick and pours, they break off beyond belief and feel rough. Not one stylist has ever been able to tell me what I need to do for this but I don’t think the people I’ve seen have experience with textured hair. Leave in conditioners etc have done nothing!! Does olaplex repair the damage done after kerasmoothening? Can we undergo olaplex treatment immediately after kerasmoothening like one day or within week after kerasmoothening??

    Very informative video. I always use the 2 min reconstructer as pre-poo, than shampoo, follow by Olaplex than a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment which gives me amazing results every time.
    Thank you

      So you use a protein treatment, then olaplex and then shampoo and conditioner?

    Thank you this helps so much. I love use the Aphogee. every four months before coloring my hair. I never really understood the Olaplex. I would love to try the Olaplex 3. I just subscribed to your channel.

      Get no.0 too! Use no. 0 for like ten mins. First then add number 3 and put a conditioning cap on and leave it on for a good twenty minutes of not longer then rinse out. It works 68 percent better than just using number 3 alone

      Using number 0 helps open the cuticle to let number 3 do it's full potential 😁

    Also a bit confused on the Cream of a Nature Plex Defense system. Is it only a bond rebuilder or is it a protein treatment? Or both

    • @roxyc.6825

      It's just a bond builder NOT a protein.

    Thanks for the good info. I see my hair respond well to protein treaments( I make my own), but
    I tried olaplex and really didn't see any difference in my hair. The only thing that I can think is that maybe my hair is not very damaged? I have also tried bond corrector n.2 by FANOLA and got a little better results. It's also MUCH less expensive that olaplex.

      I'm curious about your routine and hair. Do you color or use any chemicals that maybe damaging? I'm curious about olaplex but I doubt I'd see results since I don't chemical and only occasionally use heat. Aphogee 2 minute is great. I also have used ion keratin smoothing . I diy with oil blends, aloe or yogurt masks. Curious about your hair and fanola. Thanks

      Hello, I hope your day is going well! I have watched several videos indicating that No. 3 only works on clean hair. So it may help to first use the No. 4 shampoo (2 lathers and 2 rinses as usual), then use No 3, RINSE again, and then use either No 5 or No 8 (but not both on the same day).Then the final RINSE before applying styling products. I just purchased the No 3 after using the No 4 and then either No 5 or No 8 for about a month. My hair styist recommended that I alternate between No 5 and No 8 every other week. Along with my prepoo, my hair texture is improving. Thanks and have a very blessed week!

      dont use number 3¡¡¡ go to the salon and ask for number 1 and 2 treatment, every week depending on your hair damage and ask the stylist to follow it with a heavy moisturizing mask such as the amika one, the bumble and bumble, morrocan oil hydrating or the purology one, the davines nou nou one is great to, yo dont want to use heave protein mask after olaplex it will make your hair rough and brittle because of the overload of repairing products. PRO TIP: Go buy a clarifying shampoo with no silicones no proteins nothing special, then wash your hair with it before olaplex treatments. You need a detox shampoo with sulfates so that your hair is out of any coating that could prevent olaplex to penetrate in your hair and that way you are not wasting product sitting on top of your hair

    Olaplex is temporary repair. I was told that K18 is permanent repair. However K18 repairs different bonds than Olaplex.
