    Could you give us an update of how your hair is after washing it and handling it for a few weeks now. And what kind of hair products do you use for washing & styling? Thanks so much! Loved the video! :)

    What is it like with new growth? I remember getting new growth with relaxed hair and it was very hard to manage because first of all my relaxed hair was damaged and my new growth was dry and I would try to straighten it but It never looked right.

    • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  9 лет назад +1

      Ela Kayembe so far i do have a lot of new growth already, but with the japanese blow out I can straighten my curly parts and it will look the same! My hair straightens pretty well before the treatment so I think that may be why. But I definitely remember when my hair was relaxed it did look a little off. Only thing that sucks is that if I get my hair wet/sweat/etc. then you'll see it really well at my roots /: I will post a video on the new growth and how I am dealing with it! :)

    Hi. I loved your hair. I have done the same thing for my hair and now it the second day and i am dying to wash it because it is super oily. Can you please tell me what i should use to stop the oil because i have to go to work tomorrow and i dont think i can go with much oil in my hair :(

    • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  9 лет назад +1

      Sharareh Nourzad I think you are supposed to wait at least 3 days to wash it so hopefully if you did your treatment still worked! I am sorry I am replying so late I did not see this comment. But I would just use dry shampoo in the meantime. The longer you wait to wash it the faster your hair will get used to the oil and not produce so much. hopefully this helps!

    haiii am planing to go japanese hair straightening... is it fine on indian hair???? and can we apply hair oils after straightening???? and for touch up we should go same salon( 1st time hair straightening) or we can go any other branded saloon any where??? please reply me.... Thanks in advancr

    • @meg3839
      @meg3839 5 лет назад

      Yes, you can do it on Indian hair, providing that it isn't severely damaged and/or hasn't been chemically treated via bleach, certain dyes, or previously relaxed anf still hasn't grown out. If you're unsure, just ask stylist ahead of time.
      You can use oil on hair, but nothing with henna or the like, and generally you don't wash or put anything on your hair for about 3 days after the treatment (it can't get wet). There are loads of FAQs on maintenance if you search for it. You'll definitely want SLS-free hair products and to regularly deep condition.
      For touchups, it's up to you on where to go, but I'd go to the same person who did iut the first time if they know what they're doing. If you decide to have a touchup elsewhere, defo keep track of what they're using and the strength, etc. Nowadays, there are salons that specialize in it far more than even two years ago. Just make sue to research and read customer reviews.

      Sarah Drayton I'm in California as well! I would definitely go straight to the Yuko website and search for a salon through them directly! That way you are sure that you find a stylist who has been trained. Good luck! So sorry for the late reply!

    • @meg3839

      I was going to a place in Riverside and loved the guy/owner who did it there (am also mixed, making it hard for me to find a good stylist), Accents Color and Hair Salon. I forget his name at the moment, but he was really good and into the science of hair and the chemicals he was using. Because I live in San Diego and don't make it to that area often, I eventually got tired of the trek though lol.
      "Min-Japanese Permanent Straight Perm" in San Diego, listed on Yelp (sadly no website), is supposed to be really good, if not the best in SD County, short of one another who is supposedly ridiculously expensive lol. I've not tried her yet, but planning to soon.

      +jilianraeee I'm wondering how it doesn't damage cuz don't they use like chemicals that can have bad side effects? Or cuz hair fall? Hope to hear a reply cuz I want to get this done but I'm a bit scared that I will lose my hair oh and i straighten my hair like everyday so is it still safe to get this done?

    • @MiracleB16
      @MiracleB16 8 лет назад

      +Winter Falls your hair doesn't fall out from it you just have to get it done the right way and it's fine that your hair is straightened a lot it doesn't damage it over in the product at all just make sure you don't have any chemicals in it for 6 months before you get the treatment so that means no coloring your hair no relaxers or perm in your hair but other than you'll be perfectly fine

  • @jillianrose5988
    @jillianrose5988 8 лет назад

    Can you still dye your hair after you get the treatment, as in the same day?

    • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  8 лет назад

      You can definitely get your hair dyed but I believe you have to wait a certain time frame before they'll want you to dye it! I dyed my hair black a couple months after my treatment but if I wanted to go lighter she seemed a little concerned so they would probably advise against bleaching but definitely talk with a hairstylist who does this treatment and see what they recommend :)

    • @jillianrose5988
      @jillianrose5988 8 лет назад

      OK. My stylist seemed leery about doing my hair since it is ombre purple and the ends have been bleached.

    • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  8 лет назад

      +Jillian Martinez yeah when bleach is involved it is more difficult because the hair has been stripped so adding this would probably either make those pieces fall out or it won't take as well/: I will be sticking to dark hair dyes because of this!

    • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  7 лет назад

      Xx KawaiiAngelSim xX yes! :) I have an update video showing what I use when I wash it and what it looks like when it's air dried! It isn't stick straight though, more of a poofy straight but that's just because of how curly my hair was. If you did this in wavy hair it would be stick straight after a wash :)

      @thatweirdpenguin3250 7 лет назад

      jilianraeee Thanks so much for replying!! And I also wanted to ask did it hurt when you got it done? Also how difficult was it for you to sleep on it?

      Of course!     • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  8 лет назад +1

      +Hasna Hidayah It is so hard to find that right?!?! I could never find anyone with the hair texture like mine anywhere! And I used to get my hair relaxed around 12 I believe so it would be up to your parents on when they would let you do it!

    • @jilianraeee
      @jilianraeee  8 лет назад

      It really is! It is nice to see that I am not alone with my crazy hair texture! But yes, definitely ask your parents what they think about it. It is definitely possible to get it done young but again once you do it you need to maintain it and get it redone and it can definitely alter your curl pattern over time.

      I want to do a Japanese straightening treatment but I relaxed my hair about 3,4 months ago so it’s till probably In my hair so I’m going to go for a Brazilian blowout.

    • @meg3839
      @meg3839 5 лет назад +2

      Yeah, most won't do it over relaxed hair and aren't supposed to. Because my hair (similar to hers) is pretty resistant and always reverted on professionally-done relaxers, and because most of mine was grown out, I was able to have it done, but it wasn't ideal and I don't recommend it. And severe damage shows like it's lit up in neon when super straight. So definitely baby your new growth while the relaxer bits grow out. After that relaxer grew out and was lobbed off, my hair looked and felt way healthier.
      The maintenance is basically the same as relaxed hair, though with emphasis on sulfate-free products similar for color-treated hair types. The results are permanent, minus new growth. I've unintentionally been transitioning (although getting it redone soon) for a year and a half, due to us trying to buy a house and saving money. My ends (well, last 5 or so inches remaining) are still straight to this day, while the rest (new growth) is curly.
      It depends on how fast your hair grows, how curly it is (i.e. at the root), and how long you can tolerate straightening any new growth, but nothing beats wash-and-go hair for the first few months -- for me, anyway, which was the only reason I tried it lol. Plus, with good maintenance (i.e. regular deep conditioning and trims), it feels, functions, performs and looks leagues better than relaxer, not to mention the lack of burnt scalp torture by the time it's done. It just takes way longer.
