I can vouch for this EXACT method. I go to a woman every year for this. The steps in this video are exactly what she does. You MUST do each step. You have to wash and then dry and straighten and then reapply the cream and then wash again etc. You must follow the steps and not wash your hair for 3 days. Good video!
I get this done at the salon, I would also note that after you’ve completed the process to not wash your hair for about 3 days and not pull it up or put behind your ears to prevent any unwanted denting in your hair. Also try to stay indoors for those 3 days if your climate is humid, this will prevent any unwanted permanent frizzy strands. After the first 3 days it’s the most convenient and careless maintenance for someone who’s had to plan their schedule around hair wash, dry and straighten days.
Me too, I'm tired of curly hair its really alot of maintenance and damn its time consuming for sure. I had my hair straightened when I was a teenager, and yes way less stress than having a curly hair. Not that I'm against curly hair but its not for me or my personality!
I really wish I knew about this stuff sooner. My hair is still a little curly but definitely manageable. I just did it. But thank you for the tips on how to do it. I’m super excited because now I can do more with my hair.
Hi girl, Thank you for sharing this video! I've been doing "Japanese straightening" for almost 20 years and the process is exactly like this one! The last 10 years I got it done in Canada at a Japanese hair salon but I didnt like the result from my last visit and have been looking for the products to do it at home. Thanks to you, Im buying it right now!
Just washed out the neutralizer and my hair went from very curly to wavy left the relaxer on for 40 minutes. My hair feels great though, no damage! I did use Olaplex with it so I’m sure that helped. A bit bummed out about the waves but I’m planning on doing it again in a month or two 😊. Btw my roots are super straight, it’s mid shaft where it’s wavy and then my ends are straight. Edit: HOLY COW MY HAIR BLOW DRIED AND STRAIGHTENED IN 15 MINUTES AND ITS CRAZY SOFT

I have the exact same hair type as yours and I’ve tried a few at home straightening treatments that never worked enough so I just ordered everything you recommended and wrote down the instructions 🤣 cant wait to try it thank you !! 🙌🏽
Hi Crystal, I'm back after watching this and then the Q and A video you did, which were great. To help you out on your next video, the neutralizer is the necessary chemical that stops the first chemical reaction you used to straighten it. Rinsing alone only removes most of the first chemical so the second step of neutralizing is critical to avoid the process continuing on therefore burning your hair off. I would add that into the video, if possible, because many young people or inexperienced people may not know how important that step is and avoid spending the money on that item and lose mass amounts of hair or burned skin. I'm not criticizing you at all, your videos are really helpful and fun. I just wanted to help you out with the information. 😊
Thank you for this video. I ordered the system in normal. Can’t wait, have a 4c unruly hair and I’m just exhausted with maintenance so i look into permanent straightening and came across your video. Very informative
I just dared to do this today. Got all the products; straightening cream, neutralizer, and hair treatment. My hair feels soft but I can definitely feel how strong the chemicals were on my hair. It was my very first time doing this process myself (not the first time having it done) and it is quite time consuming. I will write an update after 3 days of waiting for the hair to do its thing. I used gloves, old shirt and old towels. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Update: Sorry for the delay in providing an update. After the three days my hair is mostly straight, not pin straight when it dries naturally but it felt great, soft and I can wear it down right off the shower or straighten it in less than 15 minutes. It is so easy to do my hair now every time. Also I use my flat iron a lot less so my hair is loving the break away from putting heat on it often. I do recommend getting a leave in conditioner. I seldom use conditioner in the shower anymore, leave in conditioner allows me to wear my hair down and protects it if I decide to flat iron it after it is dry. Another update: I did the treatment again on my roots after 4 months. So worth it. My hair growing nicely and is so easy to manage it without my natural super tight curls.
I used to live in Miami where I was getting it done, so I am familiar with this treatment. I moved to TX, but here nobody knows how to do it and, it is becoming to expensive traveling to Miami to get it done. This girl explain it so simple. I am going to risk it and do it myself, I hope I do not regret it. 😬. Girl, THANK YOU for taking the time to post this video, you explain this process very well.😍
Same here. My hair looks is awful in this weather. I tried a reverse perm and it looked great for a week then it was frizzy and easily broke off. I doubt anyone does the Japanese straightening here. I’m just too scared to do this myself.
Thank you!!! I had this done professionally a few years ago and for real it changed my W O R L D! I’ve been wanting to try it at home, but I’ve been scared! Thank you again, and also you’re super cute and funny!!!
Thank you for this. I’ve had my hair thermally reconditioned for years. My pro used Milbon and I’ve always wondered if I could just do it myself. Now I’m gonna try it! Many thanks!
Omg I’m soo doing this 😮💕😍 out of all the videos out there of this topic you explained it the best! I’m gonna write down everything you said cuz Ik I will forget lol 😂😂❤️👍
Your video motivated me to get this treatment done and I bought the same product that you're showing here. I did it last Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. I was exhausted by the end but it was worth it. I'm never going back I have afro curly hair and I can't keep up styling it for 3 to 5 hours. I would always wear a bun all the time to avoid having to style it.
Shelby Winn I would definitely suggest this treatment! I’ve tried a keratin treatment before and it didn’t make my hair feel as soft, silky and frizzy free like Japanese Hair Straightening does.
I used to do it twice a year at a Korean hair dresser in Australia. It costs me $400 (USD) each time. But I love straight hair. I might try it to do it myself since I can't find Korean hair dresser here

@@vilja1 oh my, I said that 3 yrs ago. It's definitely 3-400 now, easily. Prices have soared for everything since then. Hell, last week a small cobb salad cost me 4.50 and overnight the price jumped to 7.50. Needless to say I haven't done my hair in yrs now and I live in a ponytail constantly. Especially since I definitely don't make 40 an hr lol.
I think they discontinued the oil/treatment that you used (Milbon Straight Lisciocrystal Hair Treatment), do you think I can just use any other protectant oil?
Thank you so much! I'm planning on following this method. I wanted to ask you something. The link you provided in the description for the hair mask takes me to Amazon but then it is always out of stock. Do you recommend any other product for protecting your hair after the treatment?
Hiii your personality is amazing I like you so much! Soo I was thinking about doing this in a salon but you’ve convinced me to do it at home. Your hair looks great! Can’t wait til my order comes in.
I feel this so hard I got the Revlon one step hair dryer and having my hair straight got superrrr easy (down to 10ish minutes) but even then, I’m still lazy. I tried the CGM because I have wavy hair and it was just too much maintenance and effort lmao. Def considering doing this now!!!
I’m 13 and I’m literally about to do this as I type lol but this method looks very promising I will edit this comment when I finish…I did it and my hair wouldn’t take the treatment so it’s kinda just super straight in the shower but when I get out and it dries its poofy..:( it works but if you have super strong hair it might not.
Mind blown I am super lazy my hair is pretty long thick and natural and I do not have the time. I do like my hair straight better I gotta find someone to do this! Thank you!
Thank you for making this! I struggle so much with my curly hair and there is such a deficit in videos like this with an authentic review / overview of the whole straightening process. How many times have you done this process yourself? Does it wash out at all?
It changed my life too, my hair is very frizzy and I don’t have the time to manage it and tired of tying it back. buying the shiseido one and doing it at home can save people $200
Omg thank goodness found your video..soo informative...it's just so expensive to go to the hair salon and spend $100 or more..but sis you definitely got subbed 😊😇..all the way from Fiji 🇫🇯 💖
Thank you so much! When you leave it in for 72 hours, how do you sleep at night?! I feel like I'd mess it up tossing around and stuff lol. Would it be okay to wrap it?
There is a thing we do in Brazil for that: you wrap your hair around your head, pinning it in place with bobby pins, and put a fabric on top, we call it "Toca" (I think it's the same in other places in Latin America)
I want to know if this can be used to get a loose wave texture from a really tight curl rather than just bone straight? If so I would want to know how long to put it in 🤷🏾♀️
Really hoping i can get an answer because I’m so intrigued! So for that 72 hr period. What do we do with our hair when sleeping since you can’t put it up or dent it in any way?
Is it possible to permanently dye the hair with this treatment? Not bleach, but a dark color? And would you recommend this be done before or after the straightening process? Thankyou 💕
this video helped a lot, tbh i've always looked better with straight hair and could manage it better compared to my natural hair now (i'm really lazy too), and i'm considering doing this, a keratin treatment, or heat-training my hair :) also can i ask does it burn at all when you apply it?
Just got this done and I’m in love! But i think I’m going to do it myself for the touch ups. Do you wait until 3 in of new growth when doing it at home?
Hiiii!! And lol I had this fear in the beginning too, but not at all! The treatment is more so for when your hair is wet, your hair will adhere to any styling tools :)
Hi I’m really looking into this treatment for my frizzy curly hair! I have a question. Do you feel the hair treatment spray was a necessary ingredient in the whole process? It’s like 45 dollars which I do not want to spend if it’s just a heat protectant that I already have at home.
I want to know if this can be used for a loose wave instead of just bone straight from a tight curl 4b hair and if so how long would I leave in each process for that?
Hi. I just gave myself the perm, but I think I should have used the normal formula instead of mild. I was trying to be cautious when selecting the mild because I gave myself a keratin treatment about 2-3 months prior and I color my hair to cover gray, so I just figured that my hair wouldn't be strong enough to handle the normal. I also have a little heat damage from the keratin treatments. My hair still looks good because I'm naturally a 3b-3c, the treatment basically relaxed my curl & my hair looks & feels more shiny & soft. But I was hoping for bone straight. When it's time to re-do my roots, do you think I should use normal this next time? And maybe apply some to some of the more stubborn areas of my hair?? What do you think?? Anyone?? lol 😅
Hii! and yess! You hit the nail on the head. Try normal when it’s time to do your roots and reapply the parts that are a little more stubborn. Just be sure to keep an eye out on how your reacts to the stronger treatment. But, I believe you should be fine! Let me know if you end up getting the results you were looking for :)
@@xcrystallynn Hi! Thanks so much for the tips! I had a feeling that I was right, but I needed to bounce the idea around with someone who's been there, and done that! lol :) Thanks again! :)

Hi! I have been getting Yuko Japanese hair straightening done at a salon for about 8 years now, and I really want to do it at home. I tried to buy it on their website but it says i have to be a cosmetologist :( I even looked up the brand you use and it says the same! Does anyone know where you can get these products? Or do I have to be friends with a cosmetologist? I have no friends :( lol
@@xcrystallynn thank you for replying!! I was afraid they would be weird fake products on Amazon but I'm so glad to hear they aren't! what seller do you get them from if you don't mind me asking? :)
Did you have any issues with the evenness of your treatment due to self application? Do you rinse the section that you first applied the treatment to first and then the rest slightly later, or do you rinse all at once? Just ordered the Liscio treatment and am preparing to do it myself in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for your video!
My pleasure!! Let me know how you like it! But as far as evenness, I didn’t have any issues. I rinsed it all at once as well. As the treatment sits on your hair, you’ll be able to see the change in your hair texture so that will also help you notice if both sides are even.
One problem I have with straightening methods is that you have to keep your hair intact for 72 hours, but Usually when I sleep, the hair straightening wears off. I guess I have to pull an all nighter if I want to get straight hair.
lol don’t worry, that happens to me sometimes as well! Maybe try buying a bandana. Also, it’s okay if it gets a little messed up as long as when you wake up, you straighten it again. Hope this helps! x
My hair is very thick and curly as heck so are you sure mild will work with how thick my hair is?? Should I use the highest one I don't want to buy it for that much and it NOT WORK
When you do this procedure is it like bleach? Sorry didn’t watch it all, but like is the chemical u apply not supposed to touch their hair that’s already straightened chemically or it will break off?

@@xcrystallynn yes thank you for all your info! 😊
@@madisonstewart3427 it’s my pleasure 🤗
Can you put a new link up for the hair treatment it goes to another product. Thank you
Is it possible to permanently dye the hair with this treatment? Not bleach, but a dark color? And would you recommend this be done before or after the straightening process? Thankyou 💕
Yes u can after
Whaf did you do for sleep like how did you get your hair to not crease
Rewatching cuz I'm finna do this myself tuh-day!!!!
What conditioning mask did you use in the shower?
Is your hair pin straight after getting wet even with the normal lotion?
I want to know this too, please
I just bought the mild treatment. Can it be used on dyed hair?? Been dying my hair black for years but no lighteners ever
I did this on my hair a few years ago. I liked it but I missed my curls and let them grow out. Thinking about doing it again
this video helped a lot, tbh i've always looked better with straight hair and could manage it better compared to my natural hair now (i'm really lazy too), and i'm considering doing this, a keratin treatment, or heat-training my hair :) also can i ask does it burn at all when you apply it?
strawberry fraisier Girl this treatment changed my life! Lol
Just got this done and I’m in love! But i think I’m going to do it myself for the touch ups. Do you wait until 3 in of new growth when doing it at home?
Yay!! I’m so glad 😊 and yes love!! I waited a good two inches just bc my hair’s so curly and I was over it lol, but three inches is okay too!
Hey, when does this product expire?
Hi! I was wondering if I added curls with a flat iron if I would have permanently styled hair, or would it end up being a disaster?
Hiiii!! And lol I had this fear in the beginning too, but not at all! The treatment is more so for when your hair is wet, your hair will adhere to any styling tools :)
Where is Brad Mondo bc I’m too scared to do this but WANT IT SO BAD
What shampoo did you use? And what hair mask did you use after? Also if I have 4a/4b hair would normal work on my hair?
Do you have to straighten your hair after your hair dries whenever you shower or just when you do the treatment?
Hi I’m really looking into this treatment for my frizzy curly hair! I have a question. Do you feel the hair treatment spray was a necessary ingredient in the whole process? It’s like 45 dollars which I do not want to spend if it’s just a heat protectant that I already have at home.
The hair treatment keeps your hair pin straight after you wash it. I use it every time I wash my hair.
It says they don't ship to Canada. How can I get this product??
How does your hair look after air drying? Without any heat. Is it frizzy?
How do you sleep without doing anything to it for the 3 days?
I want to know if this can be used for a loose wave instead of just bone straight from a tight curl 4b hair and if so how long would I leave in each process for that?
Hi I have a question, I just blow dry it like just with the hair dryer until is dry or I have to blow dry it with a brush like in salons?
The music makes me so happy lol
Wowow❤️❤️❤️ after straighting the hairs will it be straight only until we wash it? Or its just like tempravery ?
Nooo girl it’s pretty much permanent! Washing your hair or not, you hair will be straight 😁
what is the hair straightening thing in the bio ? i thought it was just the straightening cream and neutralizer
hey girl! i’m planning to get this done bc i have exactly your hair and i’m wondering if you can still curl it with a curling iron?
hey girl!! I’m excited for you!! And yess, I can still curl my hair with a curling iron
how do u touch up ur hair ? like when it grows out ? with the treatment.
Go on my channel babe! I have two videos of me doing root touch ups! One was just uploaded last night 😌💛
Can I so this with box dyed black hair dye ?
Does the hair stay straight permanently?
What if you color your hair every 3 weeks or so? Can you still do this?
help i applied it to my hair with a hair dye brush and im losing so much hair a couple of weeks after doing it and it didnt even go straight! i dont think youre supposed to shampoo out the neutraliser 🥲
Holly Divine I got them on Amazon!
@@xcrystallynn thank you for replying!! I was afraid they would be weird fake products on Amazon but I'm so glad to hear they aren't! what seller do you get them from if you don't mind me asking? :)
Holly Divine of course lol, my pleasure! I have the links to each product in my description box :)
@@xcrystallynn oh wow I'm sorry I didn't just look there first! :) thanks!
But like won’t it crease when your sleeping if you don’t tie it up
Should I get the strong solution? My hair is 3c
Do I have to keep step 1 wet for the full 15-30 minutes or only to apply step 1? After I applied step 1 it was drying so wasn’t sure.
Thanks for sharing! can you post a link for the chemicals you used?
Yes of course! I’ll put the links in my description
@@xcrystallynn Thank you! i will be trying this myself.
Should I use the highest one I don't want to buy it for that much and it NOT WORK
Do you know if you can curl your hair with larger curls for one night if you wanted to or does it just go straight even if you tried?
No your hair will still hold a curl!
When you do this procedure is it like bleach? Sorry didn’t watch it all, but like is the chemical u apply not supposed to touch their hair that’s already straightened chemically or it will break off?
okay so...
first, thank you so much for this and and gurlll you're so funny which is a plus on this video :)
second, I'm wondering if you need to do your whole hair if only the bottom part is curled and can you air dry your hair and not blow dry it
pls answer
Did you ever try this? I’m thinking of testing it out! Curious what it would be like
Where do you buy your product. I literally can’t find it anywhere but eBay 😅
Is this okay on color you think?
