    Instead of rolling pin (boring) put some socks on and moon walk everywhere (not boring) 😊🙃

    For those who say not to use peel and stick tile: keep in mind that no type of flooring is permanent, and that even real hardwood floors need maintenance. If you feel comfortable using peel and stick, it's a great option for people who don't have hundreds or thousands to spend on flooring. I have groutable vinyl tile in my kitchen, foyer, downstairs bath and garage hallway, and people don't believe me when I tell them it isn't real :). Not to mention that it shows no signs of wearing out.

    You might get to the middle and find you have to cut and fit to the size. Its better to do that at the edge than in the centre and thats why its best to start at the centre and work outwards.

    I only have a small bathroom with a vanity down one side, if I lay out the tiles from the centre of the room, I end up with a small gap around the edges so I think it will make more sense to have the whole tiles on the open side of the floor leaving a larger gap to the vanity edge, don't need to stagger mine as they have a set pattern so just have to match that. Helpful video though.

    LOL, I would if I could! But seriously, the first thing to do is get rid of the fear, plan and dive right in. When I hesitate before projects I'm always amazed at how well they come out anyway. There is also a really great trick for making a template to get your cuts perfect every time; it's just about foolproof and makes the job much, much faster.

    Thanks, my white 'marble look' laundry floor is perfect even after 12 months. I did not do spaces for grout due to time pressures and instructions. I used undercoat paint to seal and prime over newly laid plywood to keep costs down :)

    This video is amazing. Short, sweet and to the point and it looks great. I just moved into a house where the landlord put down white peel and stick in our entry room, and she did it herself with no idea what she was doing. It has polyurethane stains and looks absolutely awful, no matter how much you clean it. I have been wanting to fix it since I moved in, and now I see how easy it actually is to do, I'm inspired!

    • @jonathanpahl4574
      @jonathanpahl4574 6 лет назад +11

      Hi Lance, the chalk line gives you the center of the room, but you need to adjust where you lay your first tile if at the end you will have less than 6 inches to the wall.

    • @Ihtiandr13
      @Ihtiandr13 3 года назад

      Less than half the tile is more corect. Also do that for both lines...
      Like ppl do 2 sets of lines . First set in the center of the room and second set are adjusted lines(if nesesary).

    • @granjmy
      @granjmy 8 лет назад +3

      Something to think about, Jwan, is that any texture that is covered over by vinyl tile may come through to the surface of the new tile. Like grout lines. That's because vinyl is soft, and when you walk on it, the tile will be pushed down into the layer beneath it, and over time, you will see the pattern of whatever is under it. I don't mean the underneath pattern will wear through necessarily, but just that the shape will show.

      Jwan Mohammed Hi, Jwan! I'm dealing with something similar myself right now. I'm not sure why I decided to wait until New year's eve to start... haha... but I bought a cheap sander to sand it down if the tile is lifted a bit. Also, if you haven't purchased your tiles yet, you can get a great deal on Amazon. I bought a 20 pack and they're each a foot.... A heavy box for $10.93!! It's just a cheap black marble pattern, but we're moving & don't want to spend a fortune. They look really nice and they're SO easy to apply! Happy new year and good luck with your project! It's not so scary once you get started, I promise. :-)

      yes you need to put a primer down first for them to adhere well, surface preparation primer/multi purpose primer. i installed peel and stick in my kitchen and entry way 14yrs ago and i am replacing them just now with new ones over the top , the old ones started peeling up but for the cost i think 14yrs is pretty good.

      Do _not_ use a foam pad for any LVT/LVP, unless the manufacturer recommends it, though I've never heard of it being used. Peel and stick tiles are prone to failure anyway, best to use a specific vinyl tile adhesive.
