This video shows how I installed peel and stick vinyl flooring over existing vinyl flooring in our laundry room. I go step by step from the tools you need, the floor preparation and the actual installation of the peel and stick vinyl flooring to help you guys get through this installation. Also at I talk about how the flooring we installed 10 months ago is holding up in the shop and gym area. Hopefully you guys get something from this video and enjoy it.

We LOVE this type and brand of flooring. We put it in our master bath almost a year ago. It’s stood up to 2 bathroom floods. Now we have it in the master bedroom, dining, living, hallway and spare bathroom. I am going to be putting it in the laundry, kitchen & other bedrooms soon too. Just make sure to use the Henry floor primer before sticking down. We have the grey distressed color

@@KomarProject My grandfather had vinyl planks installed in the kitchen about 9 years ago. The planks scratched & looked awful. He had it redone in tile within 2 years. Are there vinyl planks that stand up to chairs & stools moved around?
Can you put it down over concrete? Sealed or unsealed? Looking to rip up pet damaged carpet and use this stuff.
Hey! Folks! Never line up the old seam with the new seam! If the glue is going to fail on the existing old floor it will also fail on the new floor! Stagger those seams!
Also: use floor bonding primer, helps new stick to old. Is a shiny liquid made by Armstrong

I have parquet wood floors too and thinking about getting this also. Other than cleaning it before installation do I need to do a primer or just peel and stick?
Don’t lay over parquet flooring.
There’s a good chance (as it is impervious to water) it will trap moisture trying to evaporate through the blocks.
This will lead to swelling of the parquet floor and eventually separation from the subfloor below.
Basically the floor will become uneven and unstable to walk on and everything will need to come up including parquet 👍

PS I thought that was excellent following the other lines that was great advice from the previous flooring. In the very beginning you made that one cut as you were working your way up to the wall by the vent wondering if I'm supposed to stagger them to make them look more like wood or I can just go side-by-side all the way down

Hi. I know this is a bit of an older video but just had to thank you for literally changing my life. First off, I knew I’d like this video (and you guys) when I saw your animals “getting in the way” and instead of getting frustrated with them you found it humorous. Secondly (and probably more importantly) Because of my utter lack of experience and/or knowledge of it and all the conflicting information out there I’ve been finding every excuse under the sun not to lay new flooring in my 33 yr old teeny tiny bathroom for months now. The stress it’s causing me has been insane. But now, along with your information, tips, etc., watching guys have fun with it made me want to move forward. Hello. I have an uneven floor with rough patches of wood underneath. So I laid underlayment “luan” down to give smooth texture then added peel and stick tiles…it turned out amazing

Just finished putting the same product down in 2 bedrooms and a L shaped hall. Really looks good. We pulled up the old carpet and put down subflooring. Hard on the knees for this 68 year old man. LOL Would most definitely do it again. Like you said so easy and really looks good. The key is the floor prep for sure. Good fun video.

Very useful! Covered most of the things we could run into such as door entryways. We’re in the middle of covering our old white bathroom tiles with blue vinyl adhesive tiles too

this is great flooring. just stumbled across your video... I've used it on desk tops, utility counter tops and just started tonight on a bath floor in our new house. I typically run some glue on the back to help keep in place. My planks have arrows on the back for consistent direction on wood grain. also will be using in cabinets instead of contact paper. again, great product and color from home depot

Loved this video! Just perfect! We used the same flooring but used a glue on the floor. Now I know i don't need the extra glue!
Totally ok to use glue, at least you know it will never move.
I use a hair dryer to heat the glue. Then use a paint roller small one and roll it on top of vinyl make sure you press down. Vinyl will hold better.

I bought some of this flooring yesterday, the reviews weren't great on it but this gives me hope
I installed two rooms with a 12x12 v tile by this company over a decade ago. One in a bedroom/storage room that has had a flooded freezer and frequent furniture moving; and the other in our family room. I have 4 kids, two cats, and the tile still looks great!
No its really good. I would suggest adhesive also. Put it in both my bathrooms looks great

You both made this look easy! I’m going to start my kitchen floor this weekend! I’m still haven’t decided if I will first remove the old vinyl tiles or place the new ones on top.
If they come up easy then remove them. If it looks like it will be a pain and the are on there really well then just leave them. At least that’s what I would do
My entire house was done in this by the builder and I love these floors. Durable and cost less.

Fray14318 we have it in my workshop and it’s holding up great. Lots of traffic and heavy machines down there. So a kitchen should be fine

The original floor looked fine when it was cleaned x
This is quick and easy to install. I used the same flooring for a bedroom. It is easy to keep clean. I liked the feel of it to walk on. It was installed over a plywood sub floor which we sanded. On the advise of the salesman, we rolled out a tacky base coat prior to installation.
The problems were:
1. Over time, In some areas, gaps between the planks appeared, almost like the planks shrunk.
2. I sold the house last year. When we moved the bed, the portion underneath had popped up and lost its stickiness. I tried using spray glue and double stick tape to hold them down. That didn't work. The realtors took care of the problem.
All in all, I would recommend this just not over plywood.
Loctite All Purpose Adhesive (or any other all purpose adhesive, I just have experience using the Loctite brand.) works very well in the scenario where these start to pop up.

I put over plywood. First I sealed it. My instructions said tiles won't stick to,sealant. So then I used zinzer 123 primer and they are sticking fine.
This is SO helpful. Can't wait to try it for our quick bathroom remodel in prep for selling next spring.

I have been thinking of doing peel and stick but have been on the fence. You guys made it seem so easy I think I just might do it.
