Fabulous!! NOW THAT is the best description on how to lay and cut vinyl tiles.! THANK you..
I so wish Armstrong would bring back real linoleum for residential customers. My aunt has some that was installed in 1959 that's still in almost perfect condition
@seraeggobutterworth5247I figgin’ hope so because I’m laying it in my kitchen tomorrow.
Anything that lasts isn't economically feasible in our current throw away china made American economy.
THANK YOU!!!!!! I've lived in Disabled Housing for almosy a decade and even though i clean my floors, they became horribly stained & discolored over time. I've purchased steam mops, expensive scrubber mops, ALL kinds of cleaners, and nothing really helped. We were desperate enough that we're trying to save to hire a company to come out and professionally help. I couldn't find any DIY help online and so we had given up hope of making it work on our own, so thank you, THANK YOU! for sharing this with us! I'll be going to pick up some purple Zep degreaser today! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
That was tremendous! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
👍👏👏🫱🫲🤝
Nice work . From the start to the finishing
When he was dry buffing with the red pad and the beat dropped I almost lost it!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
music is fire. install is fire.
This video is pure skill. Also appreciated the floor maintenance section. Where do I get that mop bucket?
Online.
Janitorial supply store.
Excellent video I just love these floors
Thank you so much for uploading!!
Do you have to seal the product and are the seams water tight?
Hi, nice video, 👍👍.. a question Plzz..
If this vinyl floor gets damaged what to do. I have waterproof vinyl floor in our wet room. There is a cut around 6-7 inches long in the vinyl. Floor underneath feels very soft if stand on it. How to repair it? Or we need to install entire new floor? Thanks.
Hi , i believe i can help. Long story short. You need a reparation Job done on that part. Possibly two. If you get an old average floor cover they will remove damaged tile and replace with the same exact tile if not something close to it. But as for the floor damage under. Someone needs to have some knowledge on structural parts in a home. For example someone who installs hardwood floors.
What are you do if you can’t find the right replacement tiles. Can you pull one out from like a closet?
It looks 80s😅, but probably one of the best tutorials out there👍
... and always don a bright orange road vest, lest ye be struck down by a lorry whilst installing your floor tile in the loo !
😅🤣😂
I like how to cut around the pipe. Heated it to bend it. This ain’t his first rodeo!
Amazing soundtrack
Glad this video exist bc VCT isn't as a common for residential. Plus Good geometric principles.
Thanks so much for this video. The cut I need to practice is the Architrave 08:47.
Hi, I'm installing this floor and I want to know what product is used to seal when the installation is finished, I appreciate if someone helps me
Hi Tatiana, we recommend Armstrong Flooring "Shinekeeper" a high solids floor polish, if the store you purchased the tiles from doesn't have this, you could use Gemini floor polish from Peerlesjal which is available in the cleaning aisle at Bunnings.
Great video!!!
BD muchas gracias excelente explicación
What is the measurements for that arch marking tool? How far apart are they and especially where there are two holes.
The longer the distance of the arch’s you swing the more accurate the layout being squared up will be. Just make sure you choose equal points When swinging
With such precision
Does the color of the tile change after being sealed?
Yes, everything changes with natural lighting and artificial lighting
Outstanding! Thanks
Just seen a huge ass church floor that was the straightest floor I've ever seen. No gaps anywhere. On MDF no less. The only issue I have with it is that maybe 1/12 of the tiles had cracked corners. Considering how straight it was, cracked corners seems acceptable. I wanna know what's up.
Nice video. I want to know where I can get that mop bucket.
Is this soundtrack available to purchase?
How did he not glue the template paper to the floor?
The music is awesome
Perfect product for my vapourwave w.c. mate
Yo I was just about to say this, chill AF
Great explanation, thank you!
Was there any tiles left after all that maintenance? 😆
Who has time for this? At my work I only have the weekends and the floor is always destroyed before it can set. As for floor finish; don't put it on in the winter because you need a good week for it to harden otherwise the salt will cause the finish to flake... In my years of experience, I found it best to go with ceramic at work because there is way to much maintenance for vinyl flooring. Also, be careful with coworkers and clients/customers, because even if you have a section blocked off there will always be someone who will move the barricade out of the way and walk on the floor when it is not ready. And lastly: if there is an office desk than use stainless steel tiles or something stronger than vinyl where the chair sits because if there is the smallest speck of dirt under the chair rollers than it is going to be smashed into the vinyl flooring; I have replaced countless tiles due to this for nobody removes their outdoor shoes. The only problem is that a vinyl tile costs about $2 each whereas stainless steel flooring is $20 each, but I promise you that there will be savings in the long run due to less maintenance and you only need this where the chair mostly rolls; approximately 4x4 feet...
that is ease in small rooms, but what when is big rooms like 40x40 ft,and when you square the area; wall is not square,or in that big area tile start to running for the miss leveling of the floor.
Can anyone tell exact name of the red and white tiles used in this video? Thanks.
It was Australian Made Armstrong Flooring Excelon Designer Red Ochre vinyl composition tile. New AUS stock range is ex USA and you can view it here www.armstrongflooring.com/commercial/en-au/products/vinyl-composition-tile/imperial-texture.html
Thanks. I couldn't find the Red tile at link you gave me. Could you send me the link for the red. Thanks. :)
To get to this level, I need to be O.C.D.
Excellent video.
Do you use glue for this product
Most likely. Vct Adhesive
Cool stuff!
We recently uploaded a video of our VCT installation
how big did you cut the piece of sheet vinyl for angle back traceing
Diagonal of the small = side of the big. You can see it in the video
Good information also you can see How Mark And Cut VCT Around Drain
VCT tiles has a dull side and a shiny side which side goes up and which side goes down and what is the reason?
Shiny side up. I don't know the reason, that's just what I read.
I think its a factory polishing , so less work for you
I have these armstrong vinyl tiles. Does anyone know if the overlapping vinyl template is 17 inches x 17 inches? I believe this is correct.
Sorry we are not sure what you mean. These tiles are either 300x300mm or 305x305mm (12"x12").
Armstrong FlooringAUS Armstrong FlooringAUS at 12:48 in the video, measuring the distance from the vinyl tile, end to end is 17 inches horizontal as well as vertically. So I just got some plexiglass cut to 17x17 inches to use as a base for angle trimming. Thanks so much for such an informative video. It works great.
Great info thanks
Does any body knows why let the glue dry? And for how long?
Because it’s not a wet set installation. If you installed it wet the tiles would slide all over. It is a pressure sensitive adhesive. So once it’s dry that’s when the tiles will stay where you want them. Wait until the glue is completely clear. If you swipe your fingers across it no glue should be on your finger tips.
@@georgemurphy3914 thank you very much for taking the time to reach me.
Not a problem brother. Good luck! 🤙🏼. Read the bucket of glue you are working with that is recommended from the manufacturer for the specific product you are installing. It will tell you the working time for how long the glue will still be good from the time it is dry until it’s not sticky anymore. Happy installing
never had much luck with paper and vct glue
thanks nice work
Any installers in Miami Florida
We don't use the metric system in America.
I was like what the hell when started talking millimeters.
We do we are in Australia.
Because metric is more difficult, right? 😂
just convert...not very difficult
"We don't use the metric system in America." - WHY?
Always wear a red safety vest.

obsess much!
"Equal overlap method" is a waste of time. Just place the tile over the partial tile position against the wall, then flip the tile over, flipping the tile toward the wall. Now mark your tile on both edges and then cut it. Done.
Slight math error there when they do the horizontal measurement. It should be 5 tiles, not 6. Great video though.
Nick Jones oh no? I got
Lost anyway...maths is not my strength
@@amathest62
Lost me too. Lol. Still going to try it tho. Diagonal looks more stylish.😁
