This is how I was taught at the Armstrong Traveling School in the early 70s (instructor's name was Woody). This is an excellent instructional video and I am glad one of my forum members posted it at The Floor Pro Community. However, 2 sections, welding and pattern scribing, were repeated in the video, making it nearly twice as long as it should be. You can skip past the duplicate content, but when someone sees it's 32 minutes long, they might not bother watching at all. Otherwise, good job.

Been doing this for 17 years. Can be done perfectly in half the steps. Perfect job none the less.

What is the best Armstrong solution for a nursing home floor ( the falls are the most dangerous for séniors)? I'm doing some research but can't find any information. I was wondering if it's possible to use this material (the one in the video) and use rubber like the one used for kids and sports under the vinyl. Do you have any ideas or advice for this?

This is some serious knowledge here people regardless of your "Cutting skills" I am quite sure this guy could easily loose lay it in and cut it all in by hand along the wall with a knife and fold it back glue it, rather then scribing it!

I was taught this way first. Then taught to cut in with a hooky. I worked at a flooring company with 8 fully qualified floor layers but I had to do all the Lino jobs because only me and the boss knew how to scribe and template sheet materials.

Richard, if you were renewing skirting and wall linings would you lay the lino all the way to the plasterboard and then put the skirting board on last, i.e. over the lino?

It's all very well and good when the conditions are perfect, not so much in the real world. Why don't you post a video of good fitters doing what they do best on site where nothing is perfect?

some errors/redundancy in the editing. cool lounge music. why would you go to the trouble to weld the material and make a visible seam ? pretty involved technique... but precise.
