With all the BS going on right now, I wanted to get an "equalizer" that could be relied on should I ever find myself on the defensive in a hostile mob situation in my vehicle. I chose the B2000 Gen 2. Although it ended up costing almost twice the stock price, I opted for the "Full MCARBO" version, primarily for the improved trigger, ergonomics, and durability. It took them a couple months to deliver, and at one point, I began to doubt my decision. It finally arrived and I've put almost 1500 rounds through it. I'm now very happy with my decision to go with the customized version upgrades - it has been 100% reliable with a very manageable trigger. I've experimented with a red dot on a quick release, and at the range, that works great. I don't like the ergonomics shooting with the iron sights. You have to hold your butt stock so high on your shoulder and your cheek so low, it's very awkward, and really awkward with ear muffs. Could I do it in a pinch? Sure. I've considered both the MCARBO swing red dot mount and the Mid-West industry versions but I don't think they are the answer. The MCARBO mount makes the weapon too bulky and the Mid-West Industry version is too cumbersome. Therefore, to make the package more viable for my intended purpose, I've ordered a LaserMax Spartan flashlight/green laser to mount on the bottom picatinny rail. I feel like this will accomplish two things in a mob threat situation - psychological deterrent and quick point functionality should I actually have to pull the trigger to defend my life. Combine this with three KCI 32 round Glock mags (which work flawlessly in my Sub 2000) and hollow point defensive ammo, all set up and ready to deploy in a soft case that will fit behind the back seat of my crew cab pickup, I feel like this is my best option for surviving a violent mob. Yes, I would need several precious seconds to get it from behind the seat and deploy it, but I have a handgun in the console for back-up and yes, the upgrades end up making my purchase close to $1000, but I think peace of mind is worth a grand. Fortunately, I live in Arizona, a state that allows me to legally carry the firearm in my truck in the manner described and a state that believes in 2nd Amendment rights.
TOTALLY agree with you. I pair mine up with an M&P 9 & 9C. Added a few of the MCarbo parts. Have the same type of soft case or is carried in my day pack along with the M&P 9C. Never thought I made a bad choice. Good to have settled on one type of ammo even if now it's over >$1 per round. Very good shooter between 50 & 200 yds while the M&P is the "GoTo" for under 50 yds. Just wish the Sub2000 G2 would go through a redesign in .22LR & mag'ed in Taurus TX22. Now have to settle for a Remington 597 (25 rd mags that are worthless) with the Taurus or S&W M&P .22C, but like the 16 rd capacity of the Taurus (16rds). OR .... switch over to the Kel-Tec CP33 and match it to a .22LR Sub2000 subversion. That would be a sweet deal!

Most reliable precise 9mm rifle I’ve ever shot. I was lucky to get it perfect out of the box without any adjustment and whatever I see within reason is touchable with this gun. 10/10
That's why I thought of getting a Hi-Point 4595. Hi-Point has a reputation of making poor quality guns but reviews I have read about their carbine is that it's a durable gun. It isn't pretty or flashy but it's base model is cheaper than the sub 2k and I think it looks pretty cool and it's heavier.
I’m finally going to do it. I’ve sold off a lot of stuff lately and I think the sub-2000 is the best survival/back pack/trunk gun out there. There are better 9mm carbines for sure, but the folding feature seals the deal for me. I can take it anywhere.

Love my Gen2 Sub-2000. It’s the glock model. Folded it fits perfectly in a hidden compartment in my SUVs trunk, along with a chest rig full of loaded mags for those ranges a pistol wouldn’t be as effective.
I’ve got the Gen2 in .40S&W, because that’s what was available when my dad was Christmas shopping that year. It’s a good backpack/truck gun, and in a carbine the slightly spicier .40 is an added bonus vs predatory wildlife.
Joshua you dad did great by getting it in .40 which smashes ANY candy ass “9 mill-e” lol way better more capable round, and helps bring the kel tec up quite a few notches

Even without a beard the connection between the stock and tube tends to pull facial hair on me. Bought a tube cover which eliminated the problem, though it doesn’t take a bit of work to make it lock into the folded position now
I agree with you Iraq vet, iron sights. If you want to have a rifle to zero in on a target at 900 meters then get you some good optics on a mosin nagant, mauser, etc. This is an ideal survival weapon/hunting and us Nam vets were trained to hit a target bottom center mass out to 350 meters. that is a little over 1100 feet. good enough to suppress an enemy or engage an animal for supper. Peace and Love!!! but I would engage an animal for eating sake 100 meters or less.

They’re fun guns for what they are. Amazing how Kel-Tec has turned their manufacturing around. I remember when they were the laughing stock of the industry for their quality. Lots of videos out there were they had pistols jamming and being unable to clear.

Fun fact: Keltec says to not let the bolt slam closed when folded because it will damage the charging handle slot, as it is the only thing that takes the impact of the bolt closing when it's folded.

I did a video on one of these, I love it. It stays in my EDC bag now with my Glock 26 and a bunch of extended mags.
When cocking, I’ve learned to use both hands, it helps!
Pull left hand forward, keep the right hand in position.
Ive had one for years and find it to be ao fun to shoot. Its very comfortable and easy to shoot. My one gripe is you have to put your face really low to get an adequate sight picture. Still a fantastic gun and I love it for its purpose.
I love my sub 2k. I use a 45 degree offset mount from “mcarbo” to run a red dot.
I got one a few months ago, love it as my backpack one - no problems with mine. I have four Glock 33 round mags for it.
Most reliable precise 9mm rifle I’ve ever shot. I was lucky to get it perfect out of the box without any adjustment and whatever I see within reason is touchable with this gun. 10/10
They still need to produce a .45acp version.
I want one a great deal. Sadly, they’ll need to scale up a bit for the cartridge, which will take development time.
@@I3igI3adW0lf I've shot one a fair bit in 9mm, it's pretty alright.
I want one in 7.62x25. I think that would be a hoot.
Yes they do
I need this in my life
Lol there great a bit load of fun to shoot and my wife's favorite rifle
I've tossed around the idea of a Sub2K for a long time. Just never been high enough on the priority list. They're fun though, for sure.
Same. The only problem is the big "Kel Tec" on the side.
I've had the gen 1 g17 version for 6-7 years. I like it, but never shoot it. Just doesn't seem robust enough for extensive use.
I’m finally going to do it. I’ve sold off a lot of stuff lately and I think the sub-2000 is the best survival/back pack/trunk gun out there. There are better 9mm carbines for sure, but the folding feature seals the deal for me. I can take it anywhere.
O K. I can and do bring my Extar EP9 everywhere
Get a ruger instead
I’ve owned a gen 2 for over 4 years I love it and anyone who shoots it also loves it I have a tr 25 on mine and it’s deadly accurate out to about 75 yards

Match the SUB2K gen2 with a KSG!!! KelTec has improved quality over the past decade immensely
There are 2 productions of the generation 2 this is one from the first production, the second production has a grooved castle nut joint where the bolt tube meets the receiver, also the 2nd production has a little bit better trigger and is built more sturdy, thought I’d point that out, great video👍👍
"Not the kind of gun I'd put 1000 rounds through". Sounds like a candidate for a meltdown video.
if it was full auto
I challenge him to do a melt down video on a bolt action or full auto shotgun
We need a s&w 629 meltdown
@ Yep. I have one - it's my son's favorite. Feed's a little scarce these days, though.
Kel tec has to have a full auto one laying around somewhere
Love my Gen2 Sub-2000. It’s the glock model. Folded it fits perfectly in a hidden compartment in my SUVs trunk, along with a chest rig full of loaded mags for those ranges a pistol wouldn’t be as effective.
Imagine how awesome this would be if they made a "pistol" version with a shorter pistol brace and barrel
They do have a pistol version
@@mrwren8446 may I see it?
@Josh Frank I know they're carbines but somebody said it was a pistol so I want them to show me evidence as to why it is a pistol.
@Josh Frank yeah
For some reason that sounds like it would be slightly uncomfortable to hold.
I just got the sub 2000 new gen yesterday I love it.
Love the Sub 2k it's so much fun, and I feel like James Bond carrying it in a messenger bag
Thanks!

I’ve got the Gen2 in .40S&W, because that’s what was available when my dad was Christmas shopping that year. It’s a good backpack/truck gun, and in a carbine the slightly spicier .40 is an added bonus vs predatory wildlife.
If it was 10mm yeah.
@@FXIIBeaver 40 is still far more effective than 9. Its heavier and makes a bigger hole, if quicc maff ain't your thing.
And .40 is cheaper now too
@@FXIIBeaver yes that would be great, but in a folding carbine a little extra juice, relative to 9mm is still nice
Joshua you dad did great by getting it in .40 which smashes ANY candy ass “9 mill-e” lol way better more capable round, and helps bring the kel tec up quite a few notches
Got the G1. Put on an articulating front rail. Few other upgrades as well. Cool gun and fun to shoot. Zero recoil. Hasn't had an issue in like 10 yrs.
"back pack gun" has been a hot topic lately. This is the original backpacker.
Totally enjoyed my Gen 2 40 cal. before the ammo shortage. I sanded down the crown on the picatinny rail to mount a red dot on, to keep it from rocking. New ramp feed & a few other updates help run smoother. Glad to see you having fun with it.
I have the Sub2k in .40 with full MCarbo...takes a good rifle and really raises the bar.
Glad to hear there is another 40 guy out there. I really enjoy mine as well
Love it! Did go for the hinged optic mount and a red dot. I found painting the front post helps in low light, sun rise, sun set. Cloudy days.
I only fight on sunny days with no cloud cover.
I absolutely love the sub2k for a $400 carbine that takes glock mags and i never had one mess up
If you can find it, unfortunately
@@Sommyie on the contrary my .40 cal won't fire more than five rounds give or take a few rounds. Tried three different mags and several kinds of ammo
@@spankthemonkey3437 I've heard that the .40 version is less reliable - as with most .40s, the Sub2K is a 9mm design converted into a .40. I've had no malfunctions with my 9mm.
If it didnt use anything from Glock I would be interested.
@@rickh9396 I had a smith and Wesson semiauto pistol called the S&W sigma series 40 cal it shot anything I put in it and never jammed. it was designed and looked like a Glock but had factory stainless steel finished slide very appealing to the eyes and only cost 319 plus tax at academy outdoors. In fact Glock had a lawsuit against s&w for some kind of copyright infringement don't remember exactly but it can be googled if you'd like.
Been wanting one of these for years. Oregon implementing measure 114 limiting us to 10 round capacity finally pushed me to go and snag one today before they aren’t available in my area any longer
Bought my son an RDB for his high school graduation present. We both love the thing and it shoots EVERYTHING no problem. 100% reliable when you don't load 31 rounds in a 2 gen pmag (my sons friend) lol. Only downside is screws walking out due to no blue lock tight. Had to order new ones for 2 bucks because warranty crap is a hassle with any company.
I've had a gen 1 and 2. I miss them both. Great utility and accuracy. A ton of fun.
15:33 If you have a longer beard than Eric, the reciprocating charging handle might cause some painful accidents.
@Trippy_Trolls he's talking about the charging handle blowing back past where a beard would be hanging down
The charging handle is not reciprocated.
Even without a beard the connection between the stock and tube tends to pull facial hair on me. Bought a tube cover which eliminated the problem, though it doesn’t take a bit of work to make it lock into the folded position now
Been there
Yeah very first shot pulled hair lol little stand of electrical tape around the tube took care of that. Love the gun to death fun to shoot

@cruel decimation The wooden target frame. Keltec is legit for sure.
They’re fun guns for what they are. I’ve only owned the first gen, and your buddy Ray at Moss tricked mine out putting rails on the top and bottom so I could mount stuff but it still folded up without the optic on, but the little red dot I added held decent zero even if it was taken off and put back on. Another buddy cut my grip shorter to take a Glock 19 mag as well. I haven’t had any issues with it either.

Amazing how Kel-Tec has turned their manufacturing around. I remember when they were the laughing stock of the industry for their quality. Lots of videos out there were they had pistols jamming and being unable to clear.
6:11 Check out the flex between barrel/front forearm assembly and the receiver in slow mo
i just saw that. .thanks for pointing that out.. due to the trigger flex and that now..I will not be getting one

Fun fact: Keltec says to not let the bolt slam closed when folded because it will damage the charging handle slot, as it is the only thing that takes the impact of the bolt closing when it's folded.
