I use the Midwest T1 mounts on my Sub2k's with Primary Arms classic series red dots. I wanted to use SIG Romeo5 because that's my optic of choice, but even with the lower profile without the picatinny low mount on the R5 I couldn't get one to have the red dot low enough at the ranges I wanted to zero because of the height of it. The PA Classic works great, and are about $50 less than an R5. Only real downside is that they don't have the shake-to-wake, which is one of the reasons I love R5's so much and own 9 of them for other rigs. I've also been coming up with a way to use cheap parts to have an on-gun extended magazine holder. Using two-hole rubber MLOK grip/covers I slide a velcro buckle tie-down behind each on the front and back MLOK areas on one side, and use a cheap hand-stop on the front-facing one to keep the magazine from sliding out forward. The magazine's buttplate keeps it from sliding the other direction. It's a great way to easy keep an extra 33 rounds with the weapon, or I suppose 66 if you're really wanting to make it heavy :D

Since you never show the target, why take the time to explain why you are shooting low? LoL! Other than that, great video and your setup is vastly better then your friends, his makes no sense at all for this specific gun.
Friend Dave has some weird ideas. Anytime I see someone spray paint their gun I get sick to my stomach. With each use the paint will scratch and scrape and start looking like shit. No doubt the paint on that barrel has discolored and burnt off by now and the polymer is scratched up. If you have to customize the color then do it right - creakote. But not the barrel. I note he didn’t paint the optic, it’s mount, the light, the AFG or the threaded end of the barrel. Why? If you’re going to screw it up then screw it all up. Removed the sights? If the optic should fail or get damaged then he has nothing. He used an offset mount for the optic so as to not inhibit the gun’s folding feature and then mounted a light on top so the gun couldn’t be folded. The point of the offset mount is to allow the gun to fold. However, since the light has been mounted anyway, just mount the optic on top of the gun on a riser so it can see over the light. I like Dave’s optic and his AFG even though they would look better if there was some color matching going on here. Unless Dave has super long arms he should pull his AFG back. It will give him better control of the weapon and allow the light to be mounted in front of the AFG underneath the gun as intended. With the optic still on it’s offset mount the gun can then be folded as intended. Dave sure did customize his gun to his tastes. The problem is, he has bad taste. Why on earth would someone purchase a gun whose main feature is that it folds in half and then mount crap on it in such a manner that it can’t be folded? Dumb. I don’t think Dave understands that this gun is made for plinking, home defense or a truck/backpack gun. It’s not meant for guerrilla warfare. That’s what your AR-15 is for. (Please don’t paint the AR-15.) You did mention how comfortable Dave’s gun is to shoot when cocked over 45 degrees to use the red dot and you are correct. I find it to be very natural. Whiners complain that the flash, gas and brass are a distraction, but it is so minimal it’s hardly noticeable. As you can see in this video it is no problem at all. After all it is only 9mm. You have much better and more conservative taste. I like your Midwest Industries swivel mount. I used the same one before going to an offset mount. You might try ignoring the instructions that came with it and mount it forward one more M-LOK. I did this and it allowed me to fold my gun and swivel the optic in without locking the charging handle back and so eliminated the need for that dumb para cord. I like your optic and your compensator too. Your gator sleeve is a winner as well. Makes the cheek weld a tad more comfortable when you shoot and has the benefit of keeping the gun from grabbing and pulling the whiskers out of your face. Good job on the video. Taking your time and showing everything. I know it was unintentional, but it’s almost like you showed how an aggressive eclectic approach to modification can pretty much ruin a gun even when using decent expensive accessories while a conservative approach can improve the weapon. I’d say the only mistake you made was when you called the weapons “pistols” They are rifles. Pistol Caliber Carbines or PCC. I’ve had the MCARBO M-Series for three years and love the innovative little gun. The only accessories I’ve added, (I’m sure you know the M-Series came with a myriad of upgrades), are a Missouri Tactical butt-stock pad, an AFG and an offset mount with a small reflex red dot.

The mcarbo optic mount is much better. No need for a rope to keep your bolt from breaking your optics.
Your choice, this one is mine!!! Mostly for Customer Service and Communication...
I just don't understand what you said what Dave did for the Sub to accept both Glock mags. Is it an adapter for the mag well? Thank you!
No, the gun comes for either Glock 19 or 17, mine of for the 17, Dave's is for the 19, he painted his and did all sorts of things to it!!
@@yrsued Thank you Yamil!!
From what it looks like, your buddies can fold as well, since the RDS is offset. Am I guessing that right?
Nope, the light will prevent him from locking it closed.
@@18wheeler77 Yep, the build literally makes no sense. lol
Super video, maybe flopping the 45' sight to the other side would be better.
You have to test where you want your sights to go, Try different positions and distances until you find yourself comfortable with your setup!!
@@yrsued My Sub2000 G19 has beed sitting on the safe without any upgrades. It is just not fun to shoot.
@@WheeledandWellArmed Why not?? What bothers you about it?
@@WheeledandWellArmed aka you’re one of those corny dudes that worships the AR platform, and you probably have more guns than sense.
trigger finger!!
Your trigger discipline is terrible. Nice guns though.
Seriously. At 3:28 he was repeatedly pressing on the trigger.
@@johnjacob688 Lol that's crazy
Thanks!
What did I do??
Did I mention it's a GEN 1
No you didn't!!
I mean, what’s the point of having an offset red dot if you still have a light preventing you from folding it?
I didn't make that one, I just borrowed it!!
@@yrsued I know.
@@18wheeler77 I think Dave wanted a light and he put it where he thought would work best, I might add a light somewhere on the side or bottom.
I will never buy a Sig optic again. They don't hold zero.
You would be shocked on who's SIG OEM...
@@yrsued I don't wanna be fkn shocked. I want reliability.
@@parabolicpawn What is your favorite then??
that Midwest mount is crap. The pivot loosened up after a few hundred rounds taking it out of zero with no way to tighten it back up
Have you ever thought about contacting them??
All reputable companies have a very good warranty
Mine is as tight as it was the day I installed it and I’ve already replaced the red dot once and moved the mount on the hand guard once
That thing would fit very nicely in a tennis racket bag or Trader Joe’s grocery bag.
Backpack for me!!
Mine's in .40cal and I Mcarbo'd everything. It shoots like a.22cal. Phenomenal. Glock 22 round magazines in a Hailey Strategic Chest Rig carrying 6 magazines for 132 total rounds. If I have to get out of my vehicle and fight or come to the rescue of a Law Enforcement Officer, I can pepper SPANK the bad guys. Spend the extra money, you won't regret it.
I like it just the way it is now!! NO extra money paid!!
@@yrsued enjoy, I like mine. I'm in 🐻 bear country, I'd like to see a 10mm.
@@dannysmith9217 It is Bear country just about 20 miles north of my house, a 10mm would be interesting!!
@@yrsued where do you live??? Are you a Spanish speaker???
@@dannysmith9217 Arizona, for a while now, but I have moved 7 times in the past 41 years. Yes, Spanish is my first language.
Slighted red dot with no irons. Um sure
This is America after all, your gun, your choice!! This is NOT my gun, I don't make choices for other folks!!
Your megajin bay
Since you never show the target, why take the time to explain why you are shooting low? LoL! Other than that, great video and your setup is vastly better then your friends, his makes no sense at all for this specific gun.
Because for a carbine, ten yards is too close, didn't want to bother with a target so close, I will take this out to 25 yards and shoot steel with it
Friend Dave has some weird ideas. (Please don’t paint the AR-15.)
You did mention how comfortable Dave’s gun is to shoot when cocked over 45 degrees to use the red dot and you are correct.
First things first it is his gun, so... How would you feel if I told you that what you did to YOUR gun made me sick?? Ya, think about it for a second there!!
Dave got this gun and it is HIS Gun!!
The whole purpose of this gun is the compactness of folding. Why wouldn't just buy a different carbine?
Mine folds, perfectly well, Dave's didn't, his gun, his choice!!
Buddies gun can't fold like it's supposed to with the light. And for yours look into the m Carbo in my opinion is better than the Midwest industry.
All I can say is that I'm happy with the MI Mount. They actually answer the phone and talk to you. When I had a question, they were there for me.

"Please be healthy"
Humm, like we have a choice either way

Too much equipment!
First, you never have too much gear
Second, this is NOT YOUR gun, One is Mine, the other one belongs to a Magazine Editor, HIS Choice, NOT YOURS!!
@yrsued I found through experience, over equipping your gun makes no sense. You use your accessories except a scope 20% of the time so you have to carry what you don't need 80% of the time unless you don't walk.
@@christophergeoghegan5719 For me, I have a comp and a Red Dot, FWIW, my gun, the black one is NOT equipped the same way anymore.
Your friend Dave's optic setup makes no sense. If he has a light on top, he cant fold the gun, so why bother with an offset optic? He could just center the optic and not fold the gun ever... lol
Ya, he knows nothing about guns... Oh wait, he is my Editor at Guns & Ammo... It is his gun and he likes it!!, so.....
@@yrsued I'm just saying if you cant fold the gun either way, why bother canting an optic? Its intentionally making the gun less ergonomic. lol But i guess you're right, hes probably not using a Sub2000 for self defense or anything.
