I personally don't like the idea of having ANYTHING in the trigger guard, I can see the paracord loop catching the trigger and a causing the carbine to go off. I have the MCARBO edition Keltec which has a little lever on the side to the flip the iron sights up and down manually, I found that fitting the loop around this lever has enough friction fit to hold the plate on without falling off so I highly suggest this as it can keeps the loop out of the trigger guard. I also chose to do this because the aluminum trigger guard that comes with the MCARBO edition Keltec is a smooth surface that the loop can slip off of when the folding the gun (this happened the first time I unfolded the gun with the plate on it).

Sioux empire, Love your handle man. My family is from Flandreau SD and your handle takes me back there fondly. Thanks for that. I probably will buy this just to have it, but the problem for me is that I live in a state that requires firearms to be locked for any form of transport and since this weapon's trigger guard opens to break it down, a trigger lock isn't an option. So I've been resigned to using a cable lock that passes through the action. Maybe there could be a future design that gets around this problem? If so, I'd buy it for sure.
Great product. Will be ordering one. However, if you have pieces of granola bar or gummy bears in the same backpack compartment you carry the Sub 2k you have a problem. LOL
Aldo, Every time I think I have my gummy bear problem under control I become a victim of un-documented gummy bear inter-backpack migration! Lol... If you have a gen 2 version of the sub2k, I have another REALLY cool video coming out for another new product that my friends at T2G developed recently and that will be available very soon. I was skeptical at first... until they had me come try it out... Now I think it is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time! When you see it be sure to let me know what you think! Have a super weekend brother, and thank you very much for the comment, it made my day! -Shane

Shame on keltec? What kind of libtard trash it that?? It's not ketlec's responsibility to make sure people don't do stupid things with their guns... And when have you EVER heard of this being an issue? This is someone's idea, making it sound more important than it is, to sell idea. ...marketing wank. That's not to say it's not a decent idea... Looks like something I could make pretty easily on my 3d printer, I'll be giving it a go once my sub2k comes in. I don't want to spend $18 on something I could make for pennies.
The only thing you didn’t do was extend the buttstock by putting the pin in the last hole instead of the first. That way the front sight is held by the buttstock and any twisting of the hinge is eliminated.

Hoping to have the video uploaded within two weeks... exciting stuff! -Shane
I’m practicing with the plate, it occasionally falls out of the trigger well. Is there a way someone has figured out to better secure it in there? It’s a great little piece of tech as it is.
Seth, I have had a few folks who have put an extra knot on the trigger guard and some who have actually drilled a hole in the trigger guard to keep it no matter what. Have a super day! -Shane
Piere, Well sir, let me ask you this... Would you take the dust cover off of your AR and jack the bolt open and then wander around through the woods with it open like that? In my opinion, this is worse than doing that. Additionally., go check out the feedback on the eBay store selling them... Lots sold and EVERYONE gives excellent feedback. But you have to be the captain of your own ship brother. Have a super day! -Shane
lol... That's a good point! Perhaps we have spoiled the best feature of the Sub2000? I got a great chuckle from your comment! Thanks for making my day, I appreciate it! Stay safe and stay healthy, -Shane

Walter, I got your message that you had a plate fail you. Honestly, this is the first failure we have ever encountered. I have shipped you TWO free replacements. They are already bagged up, and they will go in the mail first thing Monday morning. NOBODY gets shortchanged when I am involved brother. I guarantee it. My phone number is include in the package, call if you have any questions or problems with the new ones! Have a super evening. -Shane
You know what you already have in your backpack when you’re hiking and therefore won’t cost you a dime? Socks. Roll your socks, they’re more compact that way anyhow, and stuff a sock or pair in there. I know you don’t want to have to pull the socks out because you fantasize about a scenario where you’re already being shot at by a squad but somehow you can save the day with a PCC that’s folded up in your backpack.
Or you could save yourself the $15 + Tax and Shipping by storing your rifle in a part of your pack that has nothing else in it. The added bonus to this is when you don't have a Gummy Bear Plate on your rifle, you can keep your weapon deployment time low.
Brendan, Thanks for the view and the comment! I wanted to add a couple of things to your comments though (just some little stuff). The weapon deployment time add on with the plate is ZERO (See video) and the protection is always in place. As for storing correctly, I certainly don't disagree that better storage locations make for less problems. However, anything that you have oiled (hopefully your gun) will attract lint and "Stuff" all by itself. Not so different from the mysterious accumulation that happens with bellybutton lint (hopefully without the oil lol) I would ask... would you store or carry your AR with the dust cover open because it is "unlikely" to be an issue? I see this as a similar deal. (you certainly don't have to agree though) Different folks assign different values to things, and this is no different than that I suppose and I certainly would never "SELL" someone on a product. We simply introduce products that seem to make sense to us (our opinion on this one). Also, its $14.99 with free shipping and if you buy on the website instead of the eBay then tax is not generally charged. Would you believe that just the shipping costs $4.50 each on average now? craziness but that's the world today I suppose... Now please understand that I'm not trying to "SELL" you, or sway your opinion in any way, everyone gets an opinion, and the profit on these plates make the squeeze barely worth the juice on our part. We offer these because we believe they serve a valid purpose. I spent a lot of time operating in a Ranger Battalion (Tab and Scroll) and living with injuries from that part of my life to prove my commitment to your opinion mattering. Stay safe, Stay ready, and I hope you have a wonderful day my friend! -Shane
@@amorepreparedlife4557 Shane, thank you for the quick reply! I suppose I had missed the deployment of the Sub-2000 with the Gummy Bear Plate on while I was typing my comment. I went back and rewatched the video, and I can see that I was wrong about deployment time being an issue - my sincerest apologies. My main concern was with how it affected deployment times, but with that being alleviated, I don't see why I shouldn't pick one up just in case. Thank you for your time and for the additional information, and most importantly thank you for your service!
I've hit a like for presentation and briefness, but this is mostly a solution looking for a problem. If you are not capable of carrying a firearm so it's not exposed to debris and contamination, you shouldn't be carrying it anyway. Barrel obstructions, magazine well and ejection port contamination are possible problems this solution does not address, and they are just as real if you carry a Sub-2000 in the same bag/compartments as your chips and gummy bears. I'd rather pack my firearm properly than use gizmos like this.
Gunsplainer. Do you leave the dustcover open and the bolt to the rear on your AR ? Even in storage? Same principal here. Also, Not an argument as I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but 4,000 purchasers and KELTEC factory disagree with you. KELTEC now sells them on their website with the KELTEC logo on them. We just shipped them their second order. Thanks for the comment, and again, Im not trying to sway your opinion at all, just pointing a few additional things out for your consideration. I like your channel by the way. Stay safe brother, -Shane

They have another really cool item coming out soon for the Keltec Sub 2k and we are all chomping at the bit waiting to make their next video! Wait till you get a look at this new item... Hoping to have the video uploaded within two weeks... exciting stuff!
-Shane
Absolutely necessary? Why not just put it in your bag with the fold facing up?
I’m practicing with the plate, it occasionally falls out of the trigger well. Is there a way someone has figured out to better secure it in there? It’s a great little piece of tech as it is.
Seth,
I have had a few folks who have put an extra knot on the trigger guard and some who have actually drilled a hole in the trigger guard to keep it no matter what.
Have a super day!
-Shane
I'm torn on this idea.
Piere,
Well sir, let me ask you this...
-Shane
Isn't the hole meant to be there to store your granola bars and gummy bears?
lol... That's a good point! Perhaps we have spoiled the best feature of the Sub2000?
I got a great chuckle from your comment! Thanks for making my day, I appreciate it!
Stay safe and stay healthy,
-Shane
Good day sir. I am from Ukraine. How can I buy this thing? Thanks for answer.
Sorry for the delay! We cannot currently ship overseas but I believe Kel-Tec can. You can find this product on their website here. www.keltecweapons.com/product/trg-sub2000-dust-cover/

Subbed
Thank you brother!
Have a super day!
-Shane

I don't carry anything to get my bag for That To happen
Or you could save yourself the $15 + Tax and Shipping by storing your rifle in a part of your pack that has nothing else in it. The added bonus to this is when you don't have a Gummy Bear Plate on your rifle, you can keep your weapon deployment time low.
Brendan,
Thanks for the view and the comment!
Not so different from the mysterious accumulation that happens with bellybutton lint (hopefully without the oil lol)
I would ask... would you store or carry your AR with the dust cover open because it is "unlikely" to be an issue? I see this as a similar deal. (you certainly don't have to agree though)
Different folks assign different values to things, and this is no different than that I suppose and I certainly would never "SELL" someone on a product.
Stay safe brother,
-Shane

Mine's doesn't say 'Gummy Bear' it says "LET'S GO BRANDON"!!! Say it like you mean it because he doesn't even EXIST!!!
Keltec really screwed you on your invention... they literally call theirs the gummy bear plate too.
Yes! That is our product. We produce it for Kel-Tec with their logo. We sell the plain ones and they sell the ones with the Kel-Tec logo.
Cringe
