Our 15 yo daughter, home alone one afternoon, opened the inside door when some guy rang doorbell. Our GSD (God bless him) immediately pushed his way between the screen door and my daughter. The guy took one look at him and decided he was at the wrong house. I still shudder to think what might have occurred if it hadn’t been for that dog. Daughter said she knew she made a mistake as soon as she opened the door, but of course by then it was a bit late.

That is the thing to do. There are many people with evil dwelling in their hearts and are under the influence of the devils lurking at all times of the day. I am aware of the fact that some people do not answer their door for people whom they do not expect to visit them. I realized that more than 30 years ago. We live in a time when evil is getting out of hand. Being alert is better than being unprepared for the unexpected.

This one hits home. I've had a tweaked out woman knock on my door in the middle of the night a couple of times since moving back to the city. My thought process is... it can only be bad if I open the door for this woman knocking loudly at my door at midnight. Either she's in danger/being chased by someone, which then puts me in danger, or she's doing something like what happens in this video - a couple of her guy friends are waiting around the corner to run in once the door opens. Or she's just tweaked out and confused, will ask for food or to stay in my apartment or ask for someone who doesn't live here. None of these situations are ones I want to engage in. Thus I have never opened the door for her, and got a security camera which she definitely noticed this last time she stopped by. A good rule of thumb is to never open your door when someone knocks past dark if you're not expecting anyone.

b3 im not a certified trainer by any means but me & my family have been breeding rotties since i was 6 years old im 33 now, so i do know a little about k9 behavior. my male right now, my pet, not my stud dogs, it would be hard pressed for someone to show up at nitetime and knock on my door with out him jumping in to do his job usually he will just be patrolling but if he we're to sence anybody in my home is in danger trust me he's not running outside id feel very sorry for anyone who would show up at my door with ill intent because he knows and loves to perform his job. his looks and 140lb stature is usually enough to keep anyone at bay, obviously a team of armed intruders is a different situation. it just seemed too me the dog left his nervous owner to fend for herself!

    • @untiltheaxefalls7265

b3 the stranger he ran past had to be very nervous with his or her adrenaline at the max because there about to attempt a home invasion your telling me the dog didnt sence there demeanor and understand they were the threat, not some far off threat somewhere in the middle of the yard???

Ol' BabyBeard your not giving your dog enough credit it is wonderful too have a well socialized dog, but dogs understand demeanor and body language if a person has a prepared attack on u, despite how calm calm he can pretend to be, his adrenaline will be pumping out of control most dogs breeds with high prey drive or high natural protective instinct will interpret this at the very least something to pay close attention too. u are the one responsible for honing that instinct and making sure he knows the difference in stragers and threats. pit bulls despite there reputation as only a fighting or attack dog are usually easily trained with a drive to want too impress u. just put the time in or u will have a cute and cuddly pitbull that has no use in helping or guardian work, or a loose cannon who canot differentiate the friend or foe!!

I could have been the guy that didn't open the door but instead I was the guy that seemed to be armed.
(Either way was less than comfortable.)

I was leaving my buddy's apartment last month and it was probably about 12am. I walked into the parking lot and there was a women crying hysterically wanting to call the cops because her boyfriend was beating her (I saw him leaving the scene with his hood up but he kept looking back at her and I). I felt immediately like something was up so I kept checking my surroundings constantly and told my fiance to go get my buddy asap and for her to stay in the apartment. My car was a ways away and my 9mm was in the glove box. I was 100% ready to be jumped and kept thinking how I'm going to get to my glove box (should have carried it with me). Either way the cops showed up within minutes and everything was cooled down. Turns out she was actually in trouble but while my mind was racing and I was scanning my surroundings, a few of your videos went through my head.
Point of the story, it's extremely hard to be sure if a situation is sketchy or not. Always keep your guard up and never drop it. I will never forget my firearm in my glovebox again. As my father told me, I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

The homeowner when they went back inside was able to reach a firearm and that is why the suspects ran off.

This is why I'm teaching my family to use the Blink camera systems to act as a video intercom if someone knocks at the door when we're not expecting company. My wife is from Louisiana and where she grew up it wasn't uncommon for people to genuinely need help. Where I'm from in NYC, to open the door like that is asking to get robbed. My daughter will have a habit of wanting to run to the door and I have to stop her so I can check the Blink first to see who rang. Plus I make sure my weapon is at the ready especially at night in case things go south.

He tried saying his wife had a seizure, I offered to call 911.
    He declined.
He offered me .money to let him park on the property for the night as they hadn't found a motel. I advised I wasn't one either.

Here’s a tip, I used to find it dumb but have since changed my mind about, Never answer your door to a stranger regardless of gender or age etc. Always answer through a window which has a good view of the person/s. REMEMBER you’re not obligated to let anyone in even if it’s an emergency , at that point you call the proper authorities. If you have a gun keep it close by at all times, or have multiple ones in different locations throughout your home, mainly entry points of high traffic. When I see a dog I see a family member but also a protector. When that dog stepped outside and showed kindness and a welcoming vibe to that woman , it gave the rest of the criminals the ok to move forward. Notice the girl at first is startled by the dog but once it’s realized that it’s not a threat the scum bag walks up from behind with a sense of confidence. I have two dogs and you better believe that you’re not just going to walk up to my house and they won’t come at you if I tell them to go for you. My dad always says “ evil is always friendly At first so don’t be fooled into your own death”.

    It's important to
    1. Hear
    2. Listen
    3. Stay Alert
    4. Sniff for others
    5. Pee to mark you territory after the situation has cleared
Now we don't get to see the dog do that but it's vital that even humans pee around the house so intruders know not to come on your territory.

Instead I think you've shown the real problem, that being too good conditions for prisoners, I'm not saing take away their food or put them longer in solitary (which I think is pretty inhumane) instead give them something to fear in the gurds, they shouldn't fear getting shanked by another prisoner, instead they should fear the guards. They should fear that at the next crime commited they would end up a couple of weeks in the hospital and if someone does something and they don't admit it then the whole block or prison gets punished (although not that much as if they had admit it, we don't want to put people in hospital for nothing)

@Troll Face it's only around $100 to buy and install a ring security doorbell. You could put it at your front door. It's worth it

Forward this video to whomever asks you, "Why do you need an AR 15?"

This isn't the video for that. A shotgun with buckshot would be much more useful in this situation than an AR15. Given the legal ramifications of stray bullets, there is no rationale for having an AR-15 for home defense. You should still be allowed to own them, but home defense is an absurd justification.

Well, I disagree. When facing multiple, heavily armed attackers, I want as many rounds at my disposal as possible, as well as the ability to reload quickly, if that should be necessary. However, I do think that you are correct in that shotguns are an excellent choice for most home defense situations. I have slept with an 870 next to bed for years.
Now, your rationale about stray bullets is just silly. You can miss with a shotgun too, you know. At the average home defense distance, the spread with 00 buck is only a few inches at most (or similar to a trained AR user's rapid fire grouping at the same distance.) Furthermore, certain .223/5.56 rounds will stop sooner in drywall and other surfaces than buck shot will.

So my 8.5" suppressed 300 blackout AR w/lehigh defense max expansion (sub-sonic) bullets and a surefire light is a terrible choice for home defense? Especially against multiple armed home intruders? You have no idea what you are talking about.

Husker Power, Thumbs up for the ideal HD rig. Is it a pistol, or have you SBRed it? I'd like to do something similar, but two stamps on one gun it pretty harsh on the budget.

Sean, do you not watch this youtube channel? When have you ever seen a shooting (outside of police shootings) where more than a few shots are fired. If you need to reload an AR-15, that's all the more reason you shouldn't have an AR-15 because that means you just sprayed 30 rounds into your neighborhood. Furthermore, your rationalization about stray bullets is the silly and 100% wrong. Go a range and shoot standard buckshot through drywall and other stuff, and then see how much further the pellets go. Now shoot standard .223 rounds through the same materials and see how much farther the round travels. .223/5.56 travels much farther after penetrating drywall and wood (i.e. doors).

Sheesh this one is pretty scary. I live in New Mexico so this makes me just that much more nervous. I need to get in a better habit of keeping my gun readily on hand in my home
