@Caitlyn A Not legally. He was defending when inside his house. Once he went outside to confront him, he stopped being the defender under the law. Both are considered to be aggressors, and since he shot and killed the "intruder" before he actually entered the house, that removes the castle doctrine defense. Both men were armed, but he was already in a safe place then decided to leave it and confront the guy he shot. He should have stayed in the house and retained all the legal protections that entailed. Going outside removed them all. He had no legal grounds to kill the man simply to protect his property, which is what he did. He wasn't in imminent danger until he put himself in it.

Bullshit. Lol that's the ones who r the most dangerous man. He could ha e set this whole thing up. We have no idea. Everyone is upset that they are even investigating this event. Lol but yes they need to investigate and make sure he is telling the truth. Otherwise ot is murder. If that were ur son laying dead or brother or dad u wouldnt want them to just take this man's word for what happened. And I'm sure neither do they.

@@jesssecrest3719 reversing what was happening on the video. Someone was knocking nonstop yapping on your house with a gun, do nothing and let the aggressive man do. Tell me if you defend yourself for your safety and privacy or let him shoot you first and be killed after begging for being an idiot. Kill or be killed.

The man tries to talk the armed intruder down, he lets him leave (for the man to just vandalize his home) he arms himself with a gun he took the time to educate himself with, and he waits for the intruder to make the first move before firing. Nerves of steel on this guy.

If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore, what he must be taught is to fear his victim.

Props to that man. Got a firearm and maintained the skills necessary to use it. This includes the manners involved with it.
