@@Vladpryde yes it is. To become a black belt in general takes years (like 10-12). He's third degree meaning he's gotten his black belt, then gotten another level to his black belt, and another. The Gracie's are the family that basically created what we know as Brazilian jiu-jitsu. So that means this guy got his black belt from some of the hardest MFers out there
@@Vladpryde There are 4 "degrees" to every rank, except black belt with 6. Each one is a stripe on your belt in a different color than your belt. The number of stripes is based on your skills in different areas. 6th degree black belt is the highest skill belt. There are 4 color ranks before black belt, and each have 4 degrees. There is also a red/coral belt after black belt, but that only requires that you've been an active black belt for around 30-40 years (depends on the school). It's more of a rank of experience or renown than skill. You will usually only see 60 year old men with the red belt. If you break it down entirely into degrees (without counting red belt), there are 22 levels in brazilian jiujitsu, and this man has 19.

However, one restraint is called the small child restraint. It's pretty much holding them in such a way to not cause pain... like a big hug where they can't bite your arms or headbutt you. I never tell the kids the name as I don't want to shame them for not having emotional control. However, in a pub a small bloke was hitting a woman and then took a swing at my mate when he intervened. I restrained him and said, "This is called the small child restraint. It's generally only used on kids 12 and under." He went wild. Of course then his girlfriend kicked me in the head.
Were you dropped on your head sometime after birth!! If your going to do something bad towards a fellow human being, be prepared that one day someone bigger than you will put you down. He met his match!! Good on him. Now move along soy boy/girl or other thing.
Great work for protecting your community and helping others become prepared to protect themselves. Jujitsu is the perfect system for police officers so they can subdue the bad guy.

This is brilliant😂
Whoa he did all that AND still recorded himself saving the day. What a bad ass thank you sir

I'm sure he wanted video proof that he didn't actually hurt the guy. Doubt it was for clout...

Charged with 2 misdemeanors. He would be out within the week.
@@jonothandoeser But he might think twice next time. And millions of people saw his face, and know he’s a criminal.
@@jonothandoeser If he didn’t have a long history of crimes and/or outstanding warrants, he would likely be out that night or the next morning as long as he could post bail/bond. Those aren’t crimes that they would keep him bed and fed for a week for.
This man is a hero by catching this thief turning him over to the police I hope he gets rewarded for doing a good deed.
@Jason S not if he’s in a Democrat city. But yes he’s a good man
In Chicago? the guy is already back on the street and now the "good samaritan" just put a hit on his studio.
Well he sure got free advertising. That's for sure.
yeah no he will be charged with a hate crime and the thief will get a college scholarship in his honor
All mr.jijitsue wants is for people to be able to protect themselves like this, I think that would make him happy. But yea that thief is already out causing more ruckus lol
Pure skill, no violence, this guy is a true gent
A great teacher for sure
TERRIFIC JOB...
A bit horny tho…
Ju-Jitsu is not just a self defense martial art, it also teaches you on how to control your emotions and maintain you calm during some very tense situations...
opposite from the p.o.s. that was laid out like a pretzel.
So good of you, to step in and help.🙏🙏🙏
This dude is such a beast, not only did he tie him up with the thief’s own arm for like 18 minutes. But he also went ahead and LIVE STREAMED IT. Like he somehow found a way to get his phone, scroll though it then press record WHILE stopping the thief from doing anything.
I just saw the live 18min video on youtube
The hold he was using only requires one arm once he has the guy pinned
I imagine that it was to protect himself from liability and prove that he only used the minimum amount of force necessary.
It’s because of all my years of training jiujitsu that gave me the confidence to do so. I’m just glad no one got hurt. I have taught this move 1000s of times.
@@idrizredzovic6551 You're lucky he didn't have a buddy to shoot you in the back of your head, since while you're lying on the floor, your situational awareness is gone. Too many martial artists pretend gunpowder doesn't exist. I hope you're not one of them.
You still see the suspect's aggression in his eyes when he's just down; ends up begging once he realises he's not as tough as he thought he was. Can't put a price on that, good job

Being pinned down by someone twice your size, has nothing to do with a lack toughness.
Not only did he flatten and pretzle the man, he somehow also live streamed it! This man needs an award. He shows us what we need to do. To be good samaritans.
How to be a good samaritan (condensed):
- flatten someone
- pretzle someone
- live-stream it
Got it.
He recorded it for evidence, just in case he were to have charges brought against him.
Is it in twitch?
@@PeterPerhac You sound sympathetic to the perp. Very odd position to take. The man didn't use a gun and he didn't kill him. I think it taught that guy a lesson about picking on innocent people.
There were store cameras. Thats when the altercation began.
Once he had control, he began recording and it could be used for evidence in case the perp tries to sue.
If he did that in The UK he would be placed in prison
Good man, totally in control of the situation, totally in control of himself: he waited until the last possible minute when this guy crossed the line and began truly assaulting someone before he stepped in and took care of the offender. Love him. He literally, calmly wants to keep the peace.

Yeah a true martial artist in a fake story. It’s an ad for his business.

Awhhh I almost had a tear at 1:50 when he said "some people wait until something bad happens to them before they learn self defense" you could just see in his eyes something bad happened for him to start.

Sounds like an infomercial
He probably has had a lot of students that came to him too late, and only after something happened.

Looking at the date just five days ago made me happy. As a black belt instructor myself, I know the sad truth that over 50% of dojo’s closed down because of Covid. Glad his school made it! And our dojo survived too.

18 minutes..... Most people can't hold a beer for that long. The police response was impeccable....
This is really awesome that this guy was able to do this and help out. The thing that bothers me is it took the cops 18 minutes to get there. That’s ridiculous.
They were too busy trying to collect revenue
well defend the police doesn't really help
Be grateful man. In my country they arrive next morning
The cops knew that clown was in good hands. Plenty of time to grab a coffee and donuts before taking that punk to jail.
They were still out harassing innocent people.
Thank you for reporting this story I love seeing stories like this instead of the stabbing and other stuff that goes on around the Chicagoland area!!
As a woman who has been assaulted many times in my life since a child, I now make it a point to talk to young girls about the importance of being able to protect themselves. To be able to walk down the street alone and know that whatever may happen, you can protect yourself. Empowerment is the key. I really do wish that the police depts would offer self-defense classes to their communities. What a great thing that would be..And can you imagine the changes that would happen if they did?
stop being against guns and get guns like holy fuck thats the point. Bitches complain that guns are bad and then walk around defenseless until something happens. Then they say “GuN CoNtrOl. ProTeCt WoMen.” just get your guns you guys wanted equality
i promise you if more women started carrying guns nothing would happen to you guys. no men would want to risk death for sum bs. but you guys might jus shoot each other like dumbasses but still. every man knows we are stronger than a women and we can easily rob one right now but that would change if we knew girls werent scared of owning guns
I actually really like that idea. It's something my buddies have discussed in the past. That like, grade 9-12 should have optional defense classes or something.
Have an officer or a local instructor come in and teach kids to protect themselves.
Builds confidence, self reliance, and would drastically reduce bullying.
The government doesn’t want people independent.. they want you to have to depend on them
🤣🤣 pathetic
