In this video, I'll take a look at some stereotypical types of personas and try to pair each of them with the ideal watch that matches their personality traits. It's important to remember that this is all in good fun, and I will be making fun of myself here as well. Do you agree with my picks? Do any of these personas fit any of you guys? What other personas would you want to see?

The jump from 290 to 36800 hurt my knees 🤣🤣🤣
Embarrassingly, being a total watch newbie myself that I almost ended up sticking with a Michael Kors, a Vincero, and possibly a Fossil....now I am a proud owner of a Citizen Brycen, Orient Kamasu, and a gorgeous black Seiko 5. I feel good.
*your collection is incomplete without a Casio*
Great collection!
Is oreint even good?
These can't be sold. What's the point? Just get one good watch Omega, JLC, IWC, Breitling all offer second hand affordability. I like Teddy but he lies in saying cheap watches are worth buying new. There's no resale. When you want a real watch your money just disappears.
@@pseitrends1435 the Bambino is a great Orient watch
This video demonstrates why the channel is one of the top-subscribed watch channels in RUclips. Teddy literally strives to satisfy as wide an audience as possible and present contents that could be digested by the most varied group of potential watch buyers. Love that he also includes himself as one of the personality LOL
When you've been a qualified physician in the UK for 10 years and the most you can afford is the stretch student option 🤣
For those interested I went for the sarx047 😎
Better a late comment than never - beautiful choice, and all the best.
Come to Canada!
I would’ve picked Nomos for the hipster stretch. Many hipsters are minimalists. Resence is a bit more of a nerdy watch IMO (which would’ve been a cool personality type).
I think you would be right in that Tony, but it’s so well known now, I feel like it’s almost becoming Passé with them. They need something lesser known to the punters when sipping their Lattes. 😂
I wanted to comment the same..nomos definitely for a hipster
@@Patrick_B687-3 True Dat.
@@perudolux It’s just the go to hipster watch
@@martinnoberpal4552 Agree to disagree. Ciao.
For the student, you missed the elephant in the room - Swatch. The Swatch Irony Sistem51 is a good automatic watch for prices ranging from US$150 to $250 each. Some designs are sober, some are more youthful. Usually comes with a centre seconds hand but there are some models that come with small seconds dial at 6 o'clock position. The Sistem51 is also a horological marvel of engineering. 51 parts, of which 1 is a screw (and the only one), make up the movement, automatic winding, and has a power reserve of 90 hours.
I feel like the seiko 5s are a good option for students also.
Just wanted to ask, not ironically, if you have seen them in real life. I was fond of them but in real life big disapointment! Too big, too thick and overall a feeling of "cheap"
@@AmigoCarlitoo Yes, I have seen the Swatch Irony Sistem51 and tried a few. It's not that thick. It is light due to use of plastics but it does have some metal.
I love this series
Edit: I wish you could include a spreadsheet with the links and names and prices
Orient Bambino was definitely a student watch over the Hamilton Khaki due to the affordability and having a date complication.
Yes, I doubt many students will survive without that juicy date complication
@@pumaRAWR1 yeah, when I was a student, I was so burnt tired when I had to date my assignments I forgot the date multiple times through the same day. It just helps being right there on the wrist in school or in the office.
Date complication are so useful as a student I sold a watch because it didn't have the date.
Timex Expedition North Mechanical could also take its place
Excellent choices in all categories, and yes do this again. Lots of room for expansion on each type, and it was fun.
I think most of these had a touch of class, reflective of Teddy
The Royal Oak should be under the Hype Beast category. The Media Pro should have an Aqua Terra. You nailed the Meathead category.
This is one of the best watch videos I've seen on YT in awhile. Good work, Teddy!
Absolutely loved how you put everything into perspective, it was you’re best video hands down 😊😊
Gr8 video as always Teddy, thanks.
The "Stealth wealth" category was very interesting and your choice of the HMC apple watch was beyond delightful. I would have included the Cartier Santos Dumont or the Tank in it.
Very fun video. Should do more of these
Love the list, persona and price based videos
The Ressence watch company make the coolest watches. Every time I view a picture or video of Ressence watches, takes me back to the early 1990's of compasses (the way the curve and dial interacted was so cool) you could attach to the dashboard of your vehicle. Saving to buy a Ressence timepiece.... may take 10 years.
Great video. Very light and fun, especially seeing TB poking fun at himself. Entertaining watch. Thanks 😊
Fun, fun, fun! I really enjoy these pick-by-persona videos, this was a great way to start a Saturday morning. For the meathead I think a Tissot 2000m OceanStar would work, they’re big and masculine. You could just as easily put a U1 on him. I’m surprised you skipped Richard Mille for the hypebeast, but it makes sense if you only wanted to cover real watches, as opposed to trashy novelties. For the student, those were great choices, I would throw in an Orient “diver”, I’m partial to the Mako and Ray II. I agree with another comment I see here, I think a Bauhaus-influenced German brand like a Nomos or Junghans would be spot-on. And for the romantic, I think the Orient moon phase was great, at a higher but still very attainable price, I would suggest a Dekla deck watch. Great stuff, Teddy. And I really like the brown sport coat, sharp.
I feel like any owner of Richard Mille is in a stereotype all to their own (name TBC) along with Hublot, Invicta etc. Gonzo enthusiasts?
I’m happy to see you guys are now using a backlight to avoid the “floating head” look during night shoots!
Love this!!! Let me give it a try - But I will do my list not taking into consideration any budget :D
The Romantic - Zenith Elite Moonphase
Ok you know what let me do it for both kind of budget damn it
The Romantic - Seiko Presage Cocktail Nightsky and Zenith Elite Moonphase
The Clubber - Tissot Prx P80 Blue Dial and Hublot Classic Fusion
The Meathead - Gshock MTG-B2000B-1A2 and G-Shock MRG G2000G-1A
The Hipster - Not too sure about that one
Hypebeast - Casio Oak and Any Richard Mille tbh
Stealth Wealth - Grand Seiko SBGX261 and JLC Polaris Chronograph
I Got a Great Deal - Citizen Pro Master Tough and Longines Spirit
Stereotypical Rich Guy - Omega Aqua Terra and Any AP
The Student - Seiko 5 and Tissot Gentleman Powermatic
Thank you
This is my favourite video yet haha nice work Teddy
Awesome intro Teddy, very funny and glad you poked fun at yourself too! Also, that leather strap on the Vacheron....wow!
Best video in a while! I really like the format, fun to watch.
A delightful angle to different personalities of collectors!
This was a really entertaining and informative (as always) video. Thank you!
Great content again. And I do see myself fitting in a couple of those categories depending on the savings available. Ironically, both the Datejust 41 as well as the Calatrava, are not readily available. Been waiting to hear from the AD for pass 11 months
This was one of your most enjoyable videos, well done.
Great video! I'm new to Ressence watches, looking forward to learning more about them. I definitely fit into the romantic category in personas.
Teddy you nailed this one except the Clubber, I would say a clubber would go for one of the bright coloured G-Shocks for entry price maybe the Casioak Rubik Cube watch with the white case and the high end would be something like a Jacob & Co Ghost Color, I just can't see a clubber wearing a gold colour Tissot dress watch.
Really enjoy all your work, Teddy - this one is very interesting!
Nomos club ref 701 for student category. I have one and I can’t get enough of it!
That orient sun and moon is beautiful... on my must buy list
There's not enough "fun" in watches these days. Excellent video!
Great idea for a video! New idea. Maybe a video breaking down sports watches for different types of sports. Swimming, sailing, lifting, bowling, golf, mathletics, chest player, family gam night (Uno!)
Out of curiosity, what would you pick for an Uno watch?
@@E-jit Just one :-)
Actually, I think the Timex Todd Snyder Mod Grey Red
Teddy, awesome video man! Honestly your brown sport coat was my fav part of the video! What kind of coat is it??
Of your ‘list’ videos, these are some of the more entertaining. I’ve come to look forward to your changing opinions over time, both with changes in the industry and consumers.
Something to note about the Ressence is the oil filled module doesn’t require service hardly ever according to Ressence and it uses a common ETA base (2824 or 2892 depending on the version) so the service can be done by a local watchmaker easily. It merges the great things about mass market customer calibers without sacrificing some really interesting in-house watchmaking.
Plus they’re super cool, the 90s “running seconds” is tough to get used to though. Had the opportunity to borrow one for a few days and.. I personally fell in love. 🍻
Nice concept. Definitely another video like this.
Nice work, a very balance approached.
Loved the video. I didn't know where I'd land until I saw the watches and I made note of the Orient Sun and Moon, Seiko "Arnie" because it looked wonky, and finally the G Shock because it's a great casual watch. I am low on budget but like fun watches that are easy to read.
I enjoyed this type of content. Made me look at watches I usually wouldn't. Thank you
Thanks for another entertaining window into Horology. I noticed that Omega Constellation on your wrist. The same one you showed when Hugo interviewed you. I just want you know I feel in love with it too and found one on, of all places, Etsy! It was offered by a watch shop in St Louis with a good reputation, so I bought it. Love having that watch on my wrist and in my collection. Thanks for featuring it.
Great video Teddy !!!! Keep these coming !!! 👍
The MoonSwatch would be a good budget piece for the hypebeast persona
Love your chanel !! Your website and your taste , amazing content classy.and affordable watches !! Keep it up 👍😊
Literally picked up the 35mm Gold PVd PRX yesterday. For me it’s my 80s gangster movie lol watch. Love it
I picked up a Seiko Arnie as my new work watch. Loving it so far.
I loved this video, Teddy. Thank you.
Your self awareness gets you points. Keep up the great work!
I think you missed the adventurer persona : hiking, sailing, diving. And maybe the real formal one : classic, serious. Great video like always 👌
You and nico got me back into watches. Thanks
This was actually pretty bang on. Well done
Teddy this is Brilliant, its an Endless Well of FUN, FACTS, & FOOLERY ! Thank u Sir.
Had alot of fun. Definitely do more of those
That was a fun video Teddy, I am no hipster, but that was the picks I was most curious about seeing.
being on youtube for 10 over years, I have only commented twice and this is the third. I love this series 🔥🔥🔥
I really like this kind of video, showing a lot of different watches
This was fun. If you do another video in this style, I would love to hear your choices for a musician; perhaps some unique considerations there. Thanks for all the content sir!
Loved this as an idea for a video Teddy
Awesome video - think you nailed the pairings!
Glad you enjoyed it! I had fun with it!
My great grandfather owned Patek Philippe 1485 Steel with leather strap from 1952. I currently own the watch and its so subtle yet beautiful
That no bezel rotating watch is pretty insane
Great video! I would have chosen the Bell & Ross Red Radar for the clubber pick!
Such a fun video idea. Love it!
Love your videos enjoyed a lot ❤️
Another great video!
I wear the Arnie all the time these days and it fits my skinny wrist 😆. Love it. Fun video Teddy!
I LOVE this type of video ! (I.e. ‘tongue~in-cheek’) Keep ‘em coming!
A very entertaining video. Love it! My favorite of the picks is the Hamilton.
Thanks for your video - highquality as always. Love the short mention of the wrist dimensions, so helpful! I hope watchbrands would do that on their websites as well. Can add the Omega x Swatch Moonswatch for Hypebeast lower end of the budget i guess ?
Great video Teddy
I really liked the more fast paced video. Im a student and i mostly wear a f-91w or a vintage seiko.
Teddy Turtleneck back at it with a great watch review!
Great video Teddy!
A fun video. I like the way you poked fun at yourself.
That last segment is basically Teddy telling his fiancée what he wants as a wedding present 😁😁😁
I think the GMT Master II Pepsi with Jubilee bracelet is also perfect for in the club. Especially because of the way the bezel lights up in uv light!
Damn that was such a twist, I assumed Teddy would put himself in the hipster category and then the new personality "watch media pro" drops.
I was a 2 watch man for the best part of 15 years, A G-Shock that I wore pretty much all of the time and a Tag Heuer pro 2000 for smart casual. Now all I want in another watch to met every situation and for every mood.
Hey man!
If you have the money to spend, I'd suggest a classic Datejust model like the 116200. Lots of great options, fits every mood and style.
GADA watches are tricky, but the Hamilton Khaki Field, Tissot chronographs, Seiko Presage, Omega Aqua Terra etc are all pretty good affordable options, can take a beating, look good in all straps (Nato/fabric, metal, leather) and go with pretty much any outfit or activity (except the most extreme casual/formal settings eg extreme sports or a black tie event) if you pick something with a timeless/throwback design.
Brilliant content! Thank you!
The arnie was a nice choice for the meat head for the size/bulkyness. I thought that the G shock would be in that category as well. Preferably the casioak for its shock resistance when slayin and bangin the weights and the water resistance from sweating. The casioak is not the biggest in size but it is a good thing when you are working out, its less irritation on the wrist on certain types of workouts. I was on the fence about the arnie but now I want to get it.
Fun video Teddy - good to see/hear. Love the watch you're wearing (== vintage Omega Constellation?). Stretch hipster could be a mashup - GS Spring Drive movement transplanted into an Invicta case made out of recycled trombones. Same for Stealth Wealth ;). And the Hype Beast would have _all_ the SwatchOmega planet watches, linked together and worn as a trouser belt.
Agree that indeed was a lot of fun and extremely creative. A nice departure from your norm and yet not at all out of place.
Thanks I want to start a collection your vids have been useful
teddy you funny af and spot on with these picks
Enjoyed that thanks!
Great concept for a video
such a fun video!
amazing video! thank you
Surprisingly great picks! 👍
Hahaha the intro to this one is the best!
I can’t help it
I love the Ressence 3BB. I just find it so unusual and understated looking. The watch industry has been so traditional and it’s worked but I like weird
I love it too but it would drive me mad trying to tell the time in a hurry, haha.
Love that type of vids
Nicely categorised! Will help first time watch buyers or venturing to watch world 🌎 Thanks
Great video- even better Jacket. Where did you get it? 🤔
Omg, these personality types are so funny, and so relatable.
Enjoyed this. Another category: The Artisan. We're talking about the highly skilled maker who is accustomed to using their hands for their livelihood, has a strong sense of design, and appreciates craftsmanship and aesthetic ethos. They seek that which floats between tool watch, and something that exudes sophistication, and aren't afraid of patina. They also love a good origin story where mass production yields to limited runs, and time-honored, slow methods of handwork are prioritized over strictly machine-punched commodities.
Yeah I think you missed “people who work in the field”(the cop, emt, park ranger etc) -then go with the marathon.
I myself, was a huge club-head; and I own the gold PRX! But I think you should do more of these types of vids! I really enjoyed this one.
Has the PRX 35mm already been released? Can' t find it on the german Tissot website
I'd have gone with vintage for the hipster, probably an old Timex marlin
Teddy great video
